+RedroomStudios I've never smoked so I particularly hated the ciggy side of aviation, we even served cute little packages of cigarettes after the meals. The Electra II had a lounge at the back and people used to go there to smoke but to be fair it wasn't terribly smoky, I think the cabin air was changed more frequently, today they don't change the air as much as they should to save on fuel and money.
+D Kelly,Jr I don't understand your point but we had better wages, passengers had more comfort and tickets were expensive. damn if everyone was just calm and didn't cause things to erupt so much, the 60s would have been a great decade, instead a bunch of drugged out hippies ruined it, by impulsively questioning the norm, it's called the norm for a reason, normal is good, they just had to go and make everything abnormal, the hippies ruined the 60s
Great job, truly the golden years for air travel. Unfortunately, the airlines today have tried so hard to make flying appeal to everybody that it appeals to nobody.
After watching this video, it kind of makes me wish I could've lived and died in the high times of the 1960's... you know... like before everything went down south.
Besides the theme of the airlines in the 1960's this music works for me otherwise. Definitely want to hear this, it's classical, beautiful and chic! 👍🙂
Back when there was STYLE instead of what we have now which are flying barnyards in the sky with all the leg-room of being locked in a trunk wearing a straight'jacket. The modern age blows.
@@joem4647 That's because the economy imploded on itself after 30 years of austerity and late stage capitalism. People can't exactly spend all day clinking martini glasses in the Poconos when you have to work 120 hours a week at 3 part time jobs just to make rent.

A smooth, SOARING, spectacular flight soundtrack! I just love this UA-cam channel!!! This makes any octegenarian feel like 20 again! Take me away jrrylpz!
Love the short clip of the guy toasting the lady beside him, taking a man sized haul of another cigarette, and the smug grin on his face as he checks out the stewardesses ass. He's having such fun!
In KC they have a radio station that plays this every stuff every friday night at 9:00 for the last 20+ years. I was born in '92 and this music defines my childhood friday night
Wow, what an amazing job putting these together, great sound and image quality! It shows you have great respect for the art, and I appreciate that. Keep up the great work.
+Tomas true, all those things existed but it was the 1960's when society started to challenge all those things. culturally and creatively it was an amazing time... and I admit that I may be somewhat nostalgic because I was born in the 60's. but I also love the time we are living in now.
RedroomStudios Love all the religion shit as well that have done most death in the human history in one go then ever before.. but yea this time its all unicorns and rainbows everywhere.. or how was it now..
+dtiydr what the hell are you talking about? I was just expressing my appreciation for the romance of vintage / retro videos, the music, the fashion styles from this time period. go somewhere else with your depressing crap.
Wonderful music, and goegeous stewardesses! That was when both were classy and designed for us chauvinists were allowed to admire and compliment a woman for her style. "I'll have some Grey Poupon wit that please." Look at any 1960's ad in the NYT's magazine section...ahhhhhh! Thanks jrrylpz
When they would serve you a hot meal of steak, chicken or fish (your choice), give you slippers, a blanket and pillow. Not charge for headphones. Passengers actually dressed up to travel (no wife beater tee shirts, sweat pants and sandles). And you could smoke without being shot. And the stewardesses were actually hired in great part based on their good looks.
ALSO, back when everyone smoked and thought that it's good for you, when baby boomers had sex, drugs, and rock n' roll, when LBJ stated he's going to stop the Vietnam War but lied, when blacks were oppressed and called "niggers". Good times! :D
That piano refrain is like the bumper music and main theme of "To Tell the Truth" (the 1969-76 vocal version. "You don't know how to tell the truth.... yeah!" That show, that era, that song RULED. This song is great, as well! Thanks for posting.
i knew several hostess in the 60s..they are training in DENVER at the time..unfortunately i lost their address in Lakewood and did not know how to find them..we hung out at the Tap inn on West Colfax Avenue..i sure missed them
I've always tried to explain what the "other" Sixties' music was (i.e., what "square" adults would've listened to during the psychedelic era.) This is a perfect example. I suppose this is what the characters in "Mad Men" would groove to!

Actually some foreign airlines' stewardesses are quite attractive and dress very nice.. I have seen plenty as a security gurd I use to work at Tom Bradly International where all the foreign airlines take off. I use to work at the Duty Free Store and man did they look hot. Some even wore the 60s style hats and believe me they could make you do anything. before it was a pleasure to fly now it just way to anal to fly with rules and police state mentality. Soon you wont be able to talk in line. Then you have TSA employees going postal....What is the World Coming To?????
What's the story with the gal at 1:43 wearing a plastic bubble on her head. Was this an actual airline uniform at some point? Never saw anything like this in my 36 years with the airline.
I was an air hostess in those glorious days, it was hard work but I loved it, some of the best memories of my life.
What happened to those glory days? Why and when did they change?

Sweet music and a superb collage of images!
