The Days of Cool Class and Social Styles!😍
this is amazing! airplanes, 60's fashion, traveling, images of my childhood, what more can one ask for? i have just discovered these videos on youtube. i'm planning to watch every one of them! thank you for this unexpected pleasure
Great Era
gotta love that organ!
Ah the glamour of the jet set lifestyle.sadly we now have ryanair.
Awesome kinda beauty music n lovely❤❤
Music reminds me alot of what I used to hear from "The Persuaders" Tv show.
Nice vintage shots of Hong Kong =]
Those were the days to travel. Today everything is so strealined and non-stop..hate non-stop.
There was something soothing about BOAC the same as there is a certain class that fly British Airways. Lovely Roy Budd`esque keyboards!
Mike Humble The class issue is actually the only good part about deregulation of the airlines. You don't have to be wealthy to afford it. The rest is definitely a negative
I used to have one of those in the 60's, a kind of blue vinyl shoulder holdall with white piping on the seams and of course the BOAC logo
Great organ, nice tune
BOAC
British
Overseas
Airways
Corporation
In the 60s and 70s, any employee of BOAC got 2 free trips to anywhere every 5 years. Even the cleaners. You could go to more than one place on several planes. Counted as one trip. My father was an engine fitter, and we went all over the world 'cos flying was free.
Perfect.
I always have this music in my head, it has sort of been metaphysically transferred there from living in proximity to this era, but I have never done that much etymological/musicological work.
Great.
Love you.
Digging this man...it's ultra Cool...😎
My father was a pilot with Ansett 1964-88 it was a great time to fly with services that have gone by the wayside. Unfortunately due to "deregulation", the airlines have really gone to shit now, it is noting more than "cattle class".......
+MrStoneycool69 Ha, Ansett, I was lucky enough to fly with it in 2001, before it went defunct. I still remember the heptagonal star.
Cool !
I am seeing many videos from your channel before my subscription, and everything to be seen looks like gold nuggets! Thank you for opening our memories with your own.
Jet life to the next
landing in Kai Tak, amazing experience
LOVe aLOT
Thanks man. It is HK... well spotted
Mi antidepresivo ,real.
Sock it to me baby ! Some footage of a super VC10 would have been nice, cool vid and tune.
Wouldn't know for certain but it certainly sounds like him. It's a KPM so it's highly likely :)
does any body know what happened to the " Soft Tempo Lounge " channel on youtube? It just disappeared today.
To Dave Volsky - was this used by NFL Films? Given their association with KPM Musichouse this track screams late-60s NFL Films.
Some Quinten Tarintino movie brought me here.
Jazz hands are optional. lol
this song came in 1972
Yes, but if you had one with mileage written in by the captain or pilot (couldn't be a stewardess), you were part of the junior jet set. Very 60s, like the Chelsea set. I'd rather have been in the mile high club though.
sounds like music from some clint eastwood dirty harry movie or somethin !
Remember Dan Air? - folks used to call it Dan Dare!
I remember chatting to a Dan Air pilot who said when their main radio failed they tried to check for a loose wire on the antenna.
They pulled out the radio half way, and it got stuck, and could not push forward or back.
This made it impossible to push the joystick forward for landing.
So they to use the aircraft’s fire axe to remove the radio !
yeah working for the airlines is the pits these days. The cheaper the airline the worse it is...
I thought that plane was gonna crash
The last time I took a flight, the stewards was so large that everytime she walked up and down the isle she hit my shoulders with her arse. How times have changed and not for the better in some cases.
Just say thank god you don't work for EasyJet or Ryan Air...
These were good times to fly, but only to the privileged. Tickets were so expensive before the deregulation. Way too much legroom that you can lie down. Champagne and vomiting everywhere because eating and drinking was the only in-flight entertainment. Nowadays, airlines are cheaper, but the service is relative to your ticket price; the luxury option is still there. You have the choice to take the good or the bad. You be the judge.
The Aircraft were noisey, not as insulated and not nearly as safe as today. There were no personal entertainment systems or flight status video in the back of seats. No GPS tracking and advance warning systems like today. Just old Radar and Radio communication.
Sure it looks like a 'nicer' world but if you were to go back there is a lot you would miss. I'm talking about long Haul here not Low Fare short haul with regards to creature comforts. Boac Comet or A340 or B777. No contest. Sorry.
wiltner In fact these ships used to have a flight engineer in order to achieve the correct course
And everyone dressed to the 9's back then, no flp flops and shorts like today.
This music and the 60's images give me some kind of strange 'airy feeling' as if everything in the world is just fine. We need to get this feeling back to the world. The world needs to brush away some negative state of mind. A complete reform in arts, science, literature, politics and poetry is needed to bring happiness back.
