I shaved with a Gillette Platinum blade today on its 1st use. I had an incredibly close and comfortable shave. A far cry from my Feather on its 1st use two days earlier. The GP did not drag like the Feather. The tragedy is that GP are now made in China. I still have a 5 year supply of Russian made GP’s but I wish I had more.
I have a R41 and in occasion use it with a Feather blade. To be honest I find the Fatip Grande more aggressive and you add to that a Feather blade, and then for me it's irritating on my neck.
It's pronounced moo la. I think that lack of a full face shave prevents an accurate assessment of the razor and blade combo. Anyway...glad you're enjoying the combo,
@@MullyShaves To answer your two questions, yes and yes. It's extremely subjective when it comes to wether or not ones neck area is sensitive and/or prone to irritation. The chin and mustache areas provide the most challenge since that is the area of ones face that contains the most angles. Do you agree?
Agreed, the chin and ‘stache areas are the ones with the most angles, with that said, I’ve been shaving for 40 years, so I think I deserve a little credit-I know how to handle the areas around my chin and nose. That said, my neck is my most sensitive spot, and I’m prone to some nasty razor burn, as I’ve often mentioned before. Now, am I allowed to compare this razor on my neck to others? For example, the Pearl Flexi and Rex Envoy are far more aggressive in my experience, and I’ve done full-face shaves with both of them. It’s interesting to see so many people eager to disagree just because I don’t find this razor as aggressive as they do.
You’re very welcome. If you ever find the aggressive one send it my way. I’m eager to try it. Seriously, the day before I shaved with this I said I was looking forward to trying it and I got warning messages from people. After, suddenly it’s a re-design and I didn’t shave enough or didn’t shave in the right place. First time I put the Pearl Flexi to me face I knew half a pull down that it was way too aggressive. Oh well. Have a great Christmas
Then I need the original. From day one people have told me how aggressive this is, and even worse with a Feather. Then I use it and am told it’s not the same. I need to find the original.
The more I use Feather blades, the more I hate them. My Gillette Platinum blades made in Russia are far superior. I find the GP's sharper and much smoother especially on the 1st pass. I have 4 Feather blades in my collection of almost 500 blades. I will be giving the Feather blades away. I am done with them for good.

@@robertross8565 I like the Gillette Silver Blue. I’ll have to try the platinum. I have a bunch of them here. Not a bunch like yours, more like 30.
You are very welcome sir. I am glad you like it.
Appreciate it, brother!
I agree with on that point. The wax is annoying. I find Feather blades make my neck feel raw.
Yeah, I’ve been acquiring blades I like that don’t have wax.
Yeah, I would agree, Feather blades can be irritating especially on my neck as well.
I find that with Feathers the fewer the passes the better.

I’ll have to try that someday

So more shaving is necessary? I’m not covering enough space to get an idea of how it feels? On the most sensitive area at that.

Current iteration of R41 is toned down from the original.

No worries. We all like different things. My only issue with the Feather blades are those god damned wax dots.
