Regarding healing, you get 5 free potions every day, that caps out at 10. You don't have to refill said 10 potions immediately so you can have an effective buffer of 15 free potions.
I got paintballs instead of potions today

i went from playing 2 days without using a single heal to instantly using 8 while fighting a 4 star

edit: Blazing Shotel is awesome. Now to slay Legiana. Just gotta ignore the Diablos everywhere smh. Four hours every day since launch, HR39 but not a chance soloing one of those without an ice weapon.
I have level 2 armor with a level 5 gunlance... beat a 5 star monster without healing.. mainly cause if I get hit I get one shotted...

The in game FAQs have the full weapon controls as well as the exact HR you unlock them great sword is part of the main story it says 1-2 so probably around hr13 the rest are HR 15
The SnS charge combo has 2 methods the one you mentioned (hold>block heavy attack>tap) and directly from guarding (hold>down swipe>tap)
My ingame faq says great sword unlocks when you complete "Unlocked upon completing Main Quest 1-2 in the first round

Yeah I realised I misread that once you hit hr11 you unlock the "main quest" I have to assume 1-2 is the second part of chapter 1 of the main quest or about hr12-14

@@twoshieldsandsomemilk nah, there was never a point where i enjoyed pokemon go as much as im enjoying MHnow, right now. There’s also just too many suckers in the pokemon community so they can get away with.
I hope they add training mode where we can fight large monster anytime and anywhere but no rewards like mh series do (dunno with next Gen mh, I just play mhfu and mhp3rd)
a target dummy mode would be great for learning how to use the various weapons without having to worry about getting your face eaten by a great jagras.

@@BanTheManofGreed When you get an urgent quest , you can die and leave as much as you want and the monster doesn't disappear so you can practice there. Hope this helps.

If you hold shield, you can swipe down and it’ll go to the combo.
Note it's the same combo as if you attack right after a successful block. IIRC the perfect block combo also does more damage, but that still requires blocking.

@@sinteleonlittle late so idk if they changed it by now, but the back-step into the charge attack does more damage than the block attack if you fully charge it before letting go
It feels fun that the monster's telegraphs are the same as world. Really surprised by how clean it is. Gonna try getting a good month or two out of it before they fuck it up
It's an ok distraction before the proper sequel anyway. :P

I've been playing before the games inception and I didn't know you could hunt monsters... oh! Maybe that's why it's called Monster Hunter!

For anyone wondering: GS TCS can be performed without the spec skill by swiping down and holding after swinging
Its amazing how they put these mechanics with tap, hold and swipe only.
Thank I noticed that last playing for the first time, I was actually amazed that they put that in. I have high hopes for Now....now

@@manwindu101 its not instant TCS u gonna go through the whole "shortcut" lol. Hold screen>either swipe up or down for the shoulder bash>Hold>swipe unti u reach the 3rd one for TCS.
fact: TCS special skill can allow you perform it immediately and allow you immortal at any hit from monster, also more damage than normal TCS
IIRC, the point about GS is actually a bit off. It's been a minute but in chapter 2, I think its Chapter 2 part 2 specifically, you are given a quest to kill things with a GS. So, you should get GS End of Chapter 1/ Early Chapter 2. But the info about the other weapons is correct.
Me and my friends found out the unlock requirements are not based on chapter progression but HR progression, so at HR 11 for GS, and HR15 for Bow, Hammer, LBG and LS.
im HR 14 now and i dont have GS so i think its abit off@@WillKazeOh

@@WillKazeOh I got GS when I got to HR14 too, and I got the other 4 at HR15, but I got to those HRs by completing story chapters, so it might be linked to those after all.

Actually we know the cycle of respawns, as told by Hunter's Notes, things respawn/reset every 3 hours. I believe its 2/5/8/11 o'clocl local time, but that might be server time and I havent dont enough personal testing to say for sure! Also, with healing, you heal at a rate of 1 hp every 35 seconds or so, meaning it takes about an hour to go from 0 to full. This means you can realistically, with enough skill, hunt all teh local monsters and heal back to full from any damage you took while doing so, WITHOUT ever needing to pop a healing item. As far as paying for healing goes, I'd say its the best system we could have gotten outside of no system whatsoever. But I also understand no need for healing(or insta healing after every hunt) encourages a mad rush playstyle that isny very monster hunter.
On the secondary combos, doing your "hold" move (guard for sns and charge for gs) and then "dodging" can also trigger special moves
It dropped about 20 mins ago in the UK. Really enjoying it so far.

More, once the game opens up alil just click your character and click customize then u can use more options.
Just go into settings, there are more customizations

It is, but there are (as mentioned) micro-transactions. This is how pretty much all F2P games work - they eventually become P2W (pay-to-win). The question is how quickly this game will end up like that.

I find when my hunter runs up to a monster sometimes... it will roll backwards throughout the whole fight pretty much. I do get a few hits in at times but again the rolling backwards starts.
Great video I was wondering if you could do a part 2 for tips and cover the palico paintballs because I still dont fully understand when they use them cause I will get maybe if im lucky one monster tagged a day by the palico otherwise nothing.

Lock on is a skill on kut helmet.. you need to upgrade it to use it
Note that while multiplayer exists, you got to 'git gud' to progress, as many story progression missions insists on a solo experience (at least when I played)

any recommended starting armor? given the resource grind from the cbt, mixed sets feel like the way to go.
Mixed sets are most definitely the way to go, defense doesn’t really matter right now since monsters are pretty easy so going for armors with good offensive perks, you can even go for armors with defensive perks if you are not confident with higher star quest
make an elemental set for each preset slot! then you dont max out your materialsbwhich cost money to expand and you will hit way harder with element/status. the more gear you got to upgrade, more useful every monster becomes!

I accidently used the free winddrake hide to upgrade something besides the headdress to progress the story am I screwed now?
perfect dodges don't seem to like to register on my phone. not sure if its the phone, or the game though and if its the game I haven't determined if its due to animation lock quite yet, but if so the animation lock seems quite long making it quite difficult to dodge let alone perfect dodge imo.

Kulu helm skill. Upgrade to Grade 2
Upgrade weapon to Grade 2 for the yellow icon. Later weapons will forge with it already unlocked.
How do you hunt in multiplayer if you have to be in range of them? I want to hunt with people but it said they’re too far away.
I’m lvl 40 and sword & shield is my main. How did I just now find out about the blocking mechanic 🤦♂️
I got to HR16 but now my potions are all gone and I cant hunt big monsters anymore, I guess more tomorrow!

MH is my favourite game series since MH1 on ps2, also im playing pokemon go since 2016 - you could think MHnow is perfect game for me, but... im not sure yet. i just played it for about hour and its better than i thougt, but my expectations was very very low, i think MH mixed with pokemon go is strange idea, and not very intuitive. MH can have very hard and long battles and here we have 10-20 second battles (maybe little more on later stages), im not convinced yet. still its quite nice, graphic and animation are nice, combat is much simplified but have some feeling of MH combat. there will be probably quite a lot of gear to craft etc. i will try it for few days, but now - im not sold

When do you unlock the lock on ability? I'm level 15 and it doesn't show at the bottom right of my screen during a large monster hunt.

You unlock new monsters by progressing the story. The first fight against each is always an urgent quest at the end of a chapter.
Biomes refresh at midnight UTC. I live in Germany, so it's 2am for me and 1am once winter time starts.

I thought the palaco was also supposed to mark monsters with paint balls when the game is running in the background, but now I see they are pretty expensive so I doubt that made it into the game?
Ah nevermind, the palico has their own paintballs.
Best Tips i can give you: 1> Upgrade only 2 element weapons or 1 affinity/higher raw-Barroth wep (depends on weapon type). 2> Dont spend your Sharp Claws / Wingdrake Hides (small monsters drop) on stupid items! You will need them a LOT! Weapoon grade 5 - 2. level, 32 Claws. Try low level weapons on 1★ monsters.
Also, try to have armour and weapons using different monster materials. (for purposes of ele or status weapons you might have less leeway on this, but later on you do get more options for e.g poison armour/weapons)

Ty for mentioning the monsters health increasing with stars, I was definitely disheartened when I killed pukei pukei in 13 seconds
Note that's 13 out of 45 seconds, so that's still like almost a third of the full fight time. But yes, later on you REALLY start to feel the timer being a real concern.

I think no, you can get extra reward from destroy monster part, you can use Lock-on skill from Kula-Kulu head gear to target which part you want to take

While i like games like this and pokemon go i can never really play them because of where i live which is basically a single VERY long highway so i can't exactly walk around and in pokemon go atleast the nearest pokestop is like 20 minutes away.
