- Hey guys! Today I’m going to be teaching you my strategy for buying fireworks on a budget, and how to ultimately get MORE for LESS. I’ve used this method a couple times already, and it’s worked every time. I figured I might film it this time so you guys can benefit from it as well! We did our firework shopping at Kracklin Kirks Fireworks in Doniphan, NE (A Boomin Bulldog Fireworks Retailer). We will be lighting more fireworks in the upcoming videos featuring the 200g cakes, the daytime firework items, the shells and the 2 500g cakes! Stay tuned and if you’re new here please subscribe for YEAR ROUND firework tips :)

I apologize for all the talking in this video BUT if you listen to what I have to say, it could save you up to 15% on car insurance. I’m just kidding. It could save you almost $100 on fireworks though...
Wish i could show u a pic of what i got for $150 at red apple for the 4th. Which i found out about thru you.tried posting it here wouldent let me. Even the clerks at counter were suprised after ringing it up. Love your content brother gives me my firework fix year round.
Cody, how did you order it like that?
I emailed it to them and picked up in store after giving a call ahead of time
@@CodyBPyrotechnics lol hey cody I was wondering what you think about my idea for a custom firework a 500 gram fountain that shoots bottlerockets in the air during the fountain spray and ends with 4 peony 60 gram cans fireing in the air and breaking all at once
Is this something all firework stores do? Is it called something specifically? Or just kind of request a mystery box type of deal?
When i was younger i never like fountains (always wanted boom) but now with some years on me i really appreciate the change of pace and effects of a nice fountain
Robbro pyro I’m exactly the same bro
@@CodyBPyrotechnics it took me a while to realize burning through shells isn't cheap lol
I was the same way. Last year we ended up with a bunch of fountains from kits we've bought over the years. The wife said let's light all of these on the 3rd. I objected because I like books too. We lit fountains for 3 hours non stop. It was one of the best times we've had. I'll be getting some this year.
for real. For years I've been doing the cakes and mortars. Remembering fountains being from a time when they good ones were banned. Last year I got my hands on a couple of huge fountains that changed my opinion of them forever. I won't name them because I don't want to brand drop but some of these are spectacular
@@lman2677 I've never had any good luck finding good fountains, that's why I stopped buying them. Do you know of any particular characteristics to look for in them to find good ones? Burning through shows to quick lol.
Ok, This is brilliant, and Ill tell you why.. I filled in as a temp manager a few years back at a Very large chain fireworks store here in FL.. NOT Phantom.. IF a customer were to come to me with this scenario, I would have HOOKED that person up for various reasons. 1, they knew what they were sorta looking for. 2, Knowing sales, if I was to exceed their expectations I would have a return customer, and THATS the whole objective.. The markup on 1.4g is amazing for the business.. If I can convert a pyro to be loyal and knowing this customer would deff. Spread the news, Id make out in the end and so would the customer! Its a win win all around... Great Video Cody!! ;)

Got to tell you Cody you're pretty slick with how you do things not just blasting out fireworks but you have reasoning behind so many things and you doing things the smart way which saves you a ton of money. I truly never realized how much work and time is put in from even a small to large setup to make things right. Who doesn't enjoy fireworks?, and let alone you've showed how effective even being on a budget can be with the way things are set up. Also I really like the idea of how you do your prepping from start to finish in purchasing specific fireworks for your show. It can be pretty crazy on the wallet if you don't follow a certain guideline and props to you for having the specific sales owner decide what will be packaged on your specific order. It's great because you know you're going to get what you've written down however you're leaving it for him to decide what or if any extras will be provided on his end knowing full well what you've written down will be part of the show and anything extra is a bonus and compliments your setup. I'm fairly new to the experience of purchasing certain items that make a show very interesting. Trial and error seems to be the thing however watching a few of your videos have really made things easier on my end and it's amazing once set up properly from start to finish how much money you can save if you stick to your budget... You have made things more easier for myself in choosing the right fireworks and how to properly set up everything weather or not it's a small tiny show or an all out massive setup. Thank you so much and I'm truly looking forward to more of your videos and putting forth all of the knowledgeable things you have brought up into my setups for years to come. The only thing is me living in Canada and the price of fireworks here as to what you actually can get for the money makes it very difficult considering there are so many more products and stores in the states with far more better deals. However still just using your strategy in itself truly will help me considerably moving forward. Its crazy what a $1,000 here spent in Canada doesn't even come close to what can be purchased from the states with the same money even after converted to USD funds.
Always been a fireworks addict nice to see fireworks year long instead of twice a year keep it up
All Bulldog employees I know of are the coolest, nicest people. You spend $300 on 500s and canisters, they’ll hook you up 5/10 of the time with cakes and stuff
cody = "They dont rip you off"
Me: tnt says otherwise
Luckily tnt sent me some coupons in the mail. However I still shop mom and pop I just because I have always gone to the same place since I was a kid
Never go with them or phantom. Lmfao
Phantom says otherwise
That last fountain lasted forever very nice well worth the money. Those large crackle balls were nice also. You got a good deal well done 👍🏻
Man this was really helpful I have always wanted to do a small show for the family and could never do it with our budget but after showing this to my parents they agreed to a higher budget thank you for this video👍
Very interesting now. I'll try this with some stands at a local indian reservation and see what they think of my budget for $150
I’m going to an Indian reservation next week for fireworks! What’s the best thing to do when I go?
@@nicholasfrancher6952 Give them the stare if you think the products are expensive. They will try and bribe you to go to their stand, so just be ready to haggle prices ;)
XephyrCraft perfect thank you!
Always be ready to walk away at the res stands. They have a lot of wiggle room in their posted prices. Just got $350 worth for $200 that’s with the ‘specials’ us pyros are always looking for too.

I like the due diligence you do with making sure everything technical like the store owner and employee is correct. No ones gonna get in trouble etc

Retail stores work but if you can get a few friends to pitch in and pool some money, local wholesale is the way to fly. I've been doing backyard shows for the past 3 years now and for $1800 I was able to get 432 excal shells (3 cases with 6 boxes a case), 90 200g cakes, and 36 500g cakes. All in all it would have been roughly $6000-$7000 in retail (without promotions).
That blue fish was pretty sick!
Edit: ok those were all pretty sick! Great assortment.
I have been shopping at Kirks for years. Love the demo they do towards the end of June.
Cody, for me, this video was your best yet.I love stuff like this.
Every thumbs up if Cody is the best youtuber pyrotechnic ever!!!!
Craig in Doniphan is good people. Down to earth and will not stiff you. Highly recommend Craig at Kracklin Kirks in Doniphan
This is great info for a noob like myself. I was just gonna get an 'assortment' box, BUT now I'm just gonna copy your list and test my luck.
Thanks!
Never buy assortment box it's the biggest scam in the fireworks buisness.
Mount Vesuvius was really cool and I’m not too into fountains. Thanks dude
That was great advice. I don't know much about fireworks. But I love them.
Those crackling balls were awesome!
I want to thank you for showing me something I want to do as a sales rep for fireworks
This is an interesting method. I have a new store that I would like to visit. I might try this when I go in. As always thanks for the ideas!
Wow! Good bang for the buck! Wish prices were that cheap in Ohio. 500gr. Cakes are anywhere from $85 to $239 right now!
Where are you at in ohio? Have you heard of Springfield fireworks in bluffton, most 500's are around $45-60

Fair do, all those Fountains were nice and long lasting with a great array of effects, makes a change to have some good ones. The difference between singular fountains and Selection box Fountains in my view.
Those were some damn good fountains 🎉🎉🎉

UA-cam SUBTITLES: laughter applause
Wholesale fireworks in Cheyenne WY is really good on things like this. The more you buy there, the bigger discount you can get plus they toss free fireworks at you after certain dollar amounts are spent. They're nothing at all like Phantom or TNT with their ripoff "specials".
@Reaper6207+ Thanks for the info. I also shop in Chyenne and usually buy most of my things at Phantom and Black Cat. This year I'm going to go to all the Mom & Pop Stores and try this strategy. Thanks for letting me know about Wholesale Fireworks. Are the located in the City itself or off the highway like the Phantom and Black Cat stores? Going to give them a try either way.
Nice. I was surprised by the root beer and blue fish fountains.
Ohhh man these fountains are damn good 😍 I wish I could get these to my country 😭
Viewing from Ohio, Just went today and got our 2021 4th of july set from sheltons, took your advice and just gave them an organized list like you had and the manager took it and gave me possibly the best set I’ve ever seen, can’t wait to set them off on the 4th
Did you go to Indiana? That's the closest one on google.
Those purple balls at the end were bad ass
What are they called
Those sparkle balls were pretty cool
Excellent tutorial! As always, love the fireworks.
Another great, AND informative video CODY. THANK you for what you do. 💣🧨🎇🎆🤯
This is great advice , I appreciate it very much ..I’m gonna try this at different retail stores. 😃 thank you
That was some fun psychology and I like the bluefish fountain and the second one that lasted a long time!🎇🎇🎇
I live in GI no kizzy and Krackling Kirks is goated
Pshaw! The store by me would hand me one 500 gram cake and say have a nice day. I will admit you can have a lot of fun with the small novelties and 200 grammers.
Those purple little ones were crazy
I’ve learned my lesson always shop mom and pops screw tnt and phantom I got so much more out of a mom and pops doing this than I would have at the said stores.
15:00 blue fish fountain looks like a Pepsi can lol
Imagine giving that list to someone at Phantom 😂😂😂. You’d get one 200g cake.

Dear god, the at least one thing works, I’m just watching this and hearing him say “at least one” actually makes wanna give him two. I’m not even selling anything

Love the budget firework videos you should make more
U got that deal cuz its u cody!, believe me their not going to give out any extra fireworks if they don't have to!!! Nice video tho!!!
Idk where you go but one of those fireworks would have cost me that much lmao
Hi Cody really enjoy the videos. I actually tried the budget box idea here in PA, unfortunately the box was only the retail value of the items. I used your exact list and left e entirely up to the sales rep. Sorry to say I didn't work for me, recieved only $150 worth. Keep up the great videos.
Something tells me I would get laughed at if I tried this verbatim in Oregon
Niiiice! Very smart dude! I'll keep this in mind.
Yo, dope classic Budget Pyro video champ! I really like the budget upload you into this.
Couple more bang for my buck🧨🧨
Those super crackling balls were fucking awesome!!!!
I’m going to use this next time I buy fireworks
Think I'm gonna do this same thing just with a 120$ budget, thanks for the idea Cody.
Hey Cody, I did this at my local stand in Washington, I’m a repeat customer for them from last year and I spent a lot their last year, I did something similar just $350
Same here where did u go ? From Washington aswell.
Where are you in Washington wish I would’ve seen this a week ago
Wow nice insight on buying fireworks dose that work for a lot of stories and tents.
Yep! I've done it this way 2-3 times before
Can you do a budget video at a stand that would be awesome
Nice
Pyro for life man!
Viewing from El Salvador
Very good video. I would Like if the button was there. Not for me though. I personally prefer Cakes and not much else, because I usually Pyro with 1 other person or solo a small show. He usually does the Shells/Body and I do everything else, problem is "he" moved 2000 miles away. Trapping them into a guaranteed sale is a good tactic because there's product that they want to get rid of that is effectively worthless (surplus/old/price inflated) that you demand to be included. But again, I know what I want, and I can get 8 500g cakes for $200 at certain stores without wholesale.
Thank you Cody that was fun also great idea to get a great mix. Peace love & jello. TomCat
Should do an update Cody!
I got all that and with 4 500gram cakes. Plus more and i paid 172. Just now
I got whaaaaat and water (both boomin bulldog) this year for 20 bucks ea at our usual fireworks store to test out. Not to bad for 40 bucks!!
By leaving it up to the owner they can choose to give you items that are the last of the stock & they want gone so they have space for newer items.
Same with items that aren't selling quite as fast.
Plus by hooking you up they get a loyal customer & the news will spread.
I'm not allowed to go into the fireworks store by myself anymore. Apparently I have a problem!
Was hoping to see what you got with those shells.
So I just walk up to the cashier give them that list and they give me a box of the fireworks I requested?
Yeah I was wondering about that as well
Cody, nice to see ur lighting off fountains, cuz I live in a state where that's all we can get. Do u have any fountain deconstruct vids. I'm a big fan of the crackling one's. I'd love to see what's inside em, that makes em tick. By the way that blue fish with it's glowing mouth was cool. I was thinking it & u said it about 15secs. later. Lol. Those crackling balls are definitely insane. Thanks for sharing. Dyl
Take a drive to the nearest state that sells the good stuff . Or if you go out of state thru the year on a trip plan to stop at a good store and buy your fireworks then.
I need this in my life
Im gonna try this with my firework plug!😭😭😭😂
I need his connect😂
Other UA-camrs: This firework collection is work $5000
Pyro heads in Hawaii: Are you challenging me?!
Ewa Pyro frrl ah 😂
That’s how it be
Good stuff
I used a friend of a family member. Told him what I wanted and told him budget was 500. I easily had 1k worth of fireworks if not more.
I like these kinds of videos ^.^
Do you have any videos on the best time to buy fireworks? So would October have cheaper prices than June and July?
WoW that is worth 150.00 👏it's to bad I don't shop online. 😒
You should get the biggest shell fireworks
There was a promotion going on in the store. The owner clearly states at the bottom that diff promos go on during the year so the cx rep didnt really hook him up and "look out" he just gave him what $150 would have gotten him at that current time with the promo prices.
yes I have seen your video it was awesome and thank you Codybpyrotechnices
I'm starting to get scared now 🤣 first you do all the fireworks I do each year, do them all year like me, and now show a list that's identical to what's in my phone minus the fountains and a way higher total. And have the same methods when shopping as me... Guess we all think alike 💯🔥🔥🔥
I never understood why some 500g cakes can cost 25 bucks and some of the bigger cakes are well over 100. If they all have 500 grams in them what makes them so much more expensive? Lol
Amount of shots? Type of effects?
I would love to do this but in Pennsylvania fireworks are so expensive. A single 500 gram cake that is good here is like $85 so I would probably have to make my budget bigger to do this. But it's a great idea
@WARLORD op I will definitely check it out
😂 $85 for 500gram cake is cheap compared to 200+ here😭
If you're in Pa.Go to Big D's Fireworks in Blooming Grove, near Tafton. They have the BEST prices anywhere. You can get a case of 500gm ( 4 cakes) for $80-$99.Get SWARM by Stinger.....thank me later.
So this year I went all out and spent way to much..but because I literally go In my local firework store weekly to catch the deals last week they sold me 19 500 gram cakes and most of them are 40+ shots and 1 minute cakes for 350. I have about 10-15 Excalibur’s growler and neon widows kits to add into my show.
I usually just roll with bottle rockets and smaller fireworks. Phantom every year for over 15 years I would get there assortment. Then i seen a billboard saying Excalibur’s for only 50$.. At the time I’m thinking for basically 2$ a shot you can have the biggest and best stuff on the market. Now I’m hooked and I can’t stop buying anything that I know I’m getting a deal on lol. I have 5 kids and with Covid...Fireworks make any Family Get Together way more tolerable..😎
I like the root beer.
Somewhere there's a huge factory making free fireworks because judging by the comments everyone can get a cheaper price than everyone else.
The 2319 200 gram is a good shot
Great idea and demo wish you did the cakes and shell's
So you are telling me there are straight up walk in firework stores! I get mine from Indian reservations 😂😂
U livin in the 1800s
@@DonutLaugh He trippin😕😂😂😂
American fireworks are expensive you can get a 40 shot cake for 5-10 € here in Slovenia
If you're in Florida they will laugh at you with a list like that. 150 will get you 1 500 gram cake
Phantom is buy 1 get 2 free in Florida.
@@astroudjr maybe now that the 4th is over but I called on the 3rd to both Tampa ones and they told me it wasn't even get 1 free.
My Dad lives in Sarasota not sure which phantom he went to but it was on the first when he got the deal. I live in PA and its buy 1 get 1 here. But there were a few folks that had a mailer that had buy one get 2 deal on it.
Nice vid! I night try it here in Holland, who knows it might work here too. Quick question, call me stupid for this one but do you guys light consumer fireworks on new years?
