It is a machining problem. There is a bulletin on it. Between that and the drum you have to buy because it is welded together and the worn out valve body, it is really expensive. Might as well buy a remanufactured unit from the dealership.
What year did this come out of? I have a 2016 cx9 that has aluminum shavings in the pan and hard down shift from 4 to 3. I am wondering if i would run into the same issue in trying to rebuild mine. Thanks, great work and information!
As I stated in the video, the problem was the bearing in the case behind the transfer gear. You have to buy the case to get it. Customer opted to buy a new factory unit.
On 700r4 3-4 clutch can you leave that thin retainer with the tangs on it out ? Trying to put alto power pack in and the only way the clearance comes out right is to leave retainer out.
No. To use the power pack you are supposed to use the #7 apply ring. Did you replace it? The apply plate you are describing goes with a #4. The #7 uses a different Bottom steel with tangs made into it. Sounds like you are trying to use the wrong parts with it.
Probably not. You will need to find the tag on each unit and see if the codes are the same. If they are different then they probably will not swap out.
