I have been looking at a line of singletrack that snakes its way down Mt Shade near Clachnaben for a number of years now. I know where it ends and recently I found where it started. I foolishly thought that joining both ends together would be the easy bit!

So I was planning on heading up Clachnaben from bridge of Dye then heading over to Mount Shade. I'm guessing not such a good idea? Great video even if it didn't plan out the way you wanted.

You should give it a shot, witht eh GPS route on Trail Forks and a drone you should be able to pick the line. It is probably over grown with heather in patchs and fine for the most of it. I would say the hike a bike is a beast so give yourself plenty of time if your doing that climb. Great views of Clachnaben and the glen below as well!
