So proud of you mate! Super committed to all the training, dug deep throughout, especially on the day and absolutely smashed it out the park. What's our next challenge then?! ❤️
Louis embodies the " all or nothing" mindset. Congrats on this huge win !
he does need to work on his planning mindset
I’m sure I’m not the only one shouting ‘ come on Louis, you can do it’ ! Everyone needs a mate like Steve! A legend! X
yes, what a great friend.
So proud of you, Louis! (was anyone else crying at the end? 😳)
As soon as he saw Raya I got choked up😂😭
Yup!!! Lol
Glad is wasn’t just me 😅😆
Me! I kept thinking “why am I crying??”
@@Babyj1026 Same here!
The energy he got from seeing Raya 🥺 Good job Louis! We can do anything we set our mind to.
Love that you are returning again to this channel. Loved the cross country also. Keep up the terrific work!
genuinely cried at how excited Louis got when he saw Raya! Such an amazing achievement, well done Louis!
Congratulations Louis! This is an incredible accomplishment in such a short time. Steve is an amazing friend for cheering you on when it got tough.
Awwww Louis! I had a little emotional moment there at the end for you. Well done Steve for cheering you in and Raya for her cooking and support. And Cali was so cute running with you on your preparations.
Yesss. Love this! Love all these series you're doing Louis!
You surely boosted my motivation to keep training hard with this video! Thank you Louis! ps. I really enjoy some good old Steve and Louis time!
Congratulations Louis! That was wonderful! Your friend Steve made me tear up at the end. He was so kind and encouraging.
Hey Louis, look up the trick with the extra string hole you aren’t using at the top of your shoe. A quick Google and you can probably find it but it helps a ton for running!
oh! i can imagine it gives much more support.
Where do we all find a friend like Steve?! He seems like just the nicest person ever! Amazing work Louis!
Having come from your couples channel, I'm so very happy to love your solo content, especially now as Raya takes some much needed time off. Congratulations on a race well run, and for your excellent time!! Keep up the great work!!
Way to go! I was almost in the exact same situation a year ago: never good cardio, ran 5k less than 5 times in my life, same age, decided to do a half marathon with a goal of under 2 hours! But I had 2 months to train! That’s a huge accomplishment and congrats!!
PS: this is just the beginning! I now run pretty regularly, really enjoy trail runs for the scenery and will decide to run 10k on a whim without much thought. I would’ve never thought that I could do that.
Congrats Louis you are a warrior! Nothing but will and resolve 🤗👍
I was proud of you and emotional at the end!
I'm so proud of you, Louis! Absolutely loved the video and would love to see more of your fitness journey! ❤
You da man! NICE JOB!! The wonderful theme from "Chariots of Fire" came to mind while watching this. Congratulations Louis. Your friend Steve came in clutch too.
Wow, Louis, what an accomplishment! So proud of you! Have you noticed how much healthier you look now after this fit-challenge? It's al worth it! And I love how Raya is always cheering for you no matter what! Even Cali is now such a spectacular runner. Can't wait for the next episodes :)
Congrats Louis! Also, big-up to Steve for those words of encouragement in the last miles, true friend right there! 💪🏽
I was watching your prep and that's me, nervous of competition, self conscious - I started 20 years after you and have never taken the plunge of competition. Some day I want to complete the marathon with my son. You are inspiring and that was a damn good time. Kudos to Steve - what a mate!
Oh my gosh! I was sobbing and cheering you on at the end! I’m so proud of you! You are an inspiration to many.❤
My 2 year old asking what you were doing and cheering and clapping for you when you cross the finish line made my day and I hope it makes yours! Congrats on the accomplishment!
You legend! You’ve inspired me even more now to kick in with my first Marathon this year in Sapporo!! Seriously happy for you. Gotta hit the pavement now….
What a wonderful, and encouraging friend Steve is! Awesome job, so much hard work to reach this goal!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊💖
Cant wait for the Beetle series or episode! whatever it turns out to be! Hopefully there is no issues or complications.
The more you run the easier it gets. A body in motion stays in motion.
Incredible achievement. I got a bit teary when you crossed the finish line. So inspiring.
Great time! I actually saw you just before the race started!! I had the same feels before and I was so nervous with barely any training and doing it alone! Amazing what you can do if you put your mind to it. I wanna do it again!
So good to see some of your old mates from England! Go Louis!!! Well done boys!!!!!
Louis! You did it, congratulations! When you saw Raya in the crowd, I saw that huge smile on your face and that surge that got you to the finish line. Wonderful video, kudos to your buddy that encouraged you all the way :)
Way to go! Excellent run and ambition! As a 40yo, I was in the same shoes and can totally relate to wanting to be fit at 40 and choosing endurance running as a way to keep healthy for my two younger boys (3 full marathons now in the past 14 months) and have the drive and energy to show them the world like I did with my older teenage kids when they were younger. Starts with the half, and now I bet you’re looking at the full - you can do it! Keep the momentum from this effort, most full marathoners train to 19 or 21 miles. Keep going, you won’t regret it! It’s only a couple more miles 😀 Great video btw
One of the BEST OG creators..... I know you're gonna smash these goals bro!!!
I grew up watching your videos, and now my son loves watching them, too! Congrats, man!
Amazing! What an achievement! Steve is an amazing friend. Well done guys!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! Louis! That was awesome man! Well done! What an inspiration! You have just challenged me to try 5k run at 55!!!
Congrats!! Very very happy for everyone who did this 🎉❤ Just one comment for anyone else watching this video for whom this may be helpful: For beginner runners, running any goal distance should not be hard!! If it feels hard, you’ve done too much too soon, which is a really really really common mistake. It can very quickly lead to injuries, and burnout and hating running, and it just goes against focusing on enjoying the process. I’m so glad nobody got injured in this video, thank god. Also, it’s very ambitious to pick both a new distance and a new time when you don’t even know your own average. A time goal is sort of meaningless unless you know what you normally do it in, and are trying to improve on your time, because time varies sooooooo much even by something as simple as stride length. For example Louis is of course very tall. And the best running goals pick either distance or speed to focus on, both for any single run and for overall goal setting. This is because its just less effective over time and too taxing to both increase distance and increase speed. My final comment - don’t be afraid to go slow, there’s nothing wrong with taking an extra three weeks to do something properly and give your body the time it needs to make the adaptations required. That’s how you get healthy and fit and increase your health span. And it’s always worth doing at any point, no matter your age. You can always always push your body to do something like run a half marathon in the short term, but that’s not the same thing as having a really really strong aerobic base. All those miles should be easy easy easy!!! Sooooo easy. Anything that doesn’t feel easy, like a super easy conversational pace, is too hard. Anytime your joints hurt, they haven’t built the adaptations yet and it’s too much too soon. Any muscular injuries means it’s either too much too soon or not good recovery. If you feel like you’re running out of energy, you’re running too fast.
You still killed it on the trip brother epic content!
Well done mate, Big UP to you, that was some inner determination that you showed! Next the London marathon??
The end of this video is SO EMOTIONAL! Seeing you run through the pain, hearing your encouraging words and see you light up when you saw Raya at the finish line put a lump in my throat! 🥹
Good for you Luis, you should be so proud of yourself! 💪
The 40s are wonderful years. You are more settled in life but still have all the strength of youth. Just enjoy these years. Love how you live life to the fullest at any age.
Well done! Not easy to go sub-2hrs on your first try! BTW, when running a HALF marathon, you usually don't need food/nutrition, but for the FULL marathon, when you run that, make sure to get about 800 calories down on your way around or you'll hit the wall. Good luck!
i love that your motivation to this was to be able to be there for Raya and the baby
Good for you brother!! So inspiring. Making me want to start running!!
Way to go, Louis.
Well done keeping it under 2hrs.
That is amazing Louis!!! So proud of you ❤
This was a great video! Entertaining the whole way through. Am I correct in assuming this will become a serie, the "Fit By 40" series? Because I am all for getting videos of you doing things that challenge you physically (and mentally). Brand new adventure.
Way to go Louie, I'm so proud of you👏👏👏👏👏YOU DID IT
Nice man. Good stuff Louis 👍🏾
Congratulations on an amazing achievement - such an inspirational video. Steve & Raya you are legends ❤😊
Good to see Steve. Congrats to Louis & Raya on the Pregnancy!
Very inspiring. Nicely done Louis!🎉
Well done! Loved the POV of being in the crowd of runners
Fantastic, amazing, spectacular. Your best video ever, a true inspiration. The love you share with Raya is monumental. 1000 congratulations.
Well done young man...well done 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Proud of you mate! That seafront is also windy and cold at the best of times! Proud of you and such beautiful reasons for doing it. Vegans are the best always! ❤️
Amazing Louis! Glad you got into running.
Well done Louis! You did great!!!
CONGRATS Louis 👏 👏 👏 it's a job well done!🥉🥈🥇🏆
Good on you and great to see Steve!
Aw Louis you’re so great! Congrats!
Tears towards the end. Congrats Louis!
It is a amazing effort to run first HM under 2 hours with just 1 month of training, well done mate!
I’ve attempted half marathon training a decade ago in my late 20s with short timeline for cancer fundraising purposes and it was no joke the hardest thing I’ve done. I got a Staph infection (the only time I have) due to the intensity of training as I’m Not a runner at all too, so I know how hard it was for you to achieve this . you did it amazing Louis. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Louis is back!!!!
Hell yeah Louis! I picked up running last year and did my first Ultra Marathon.
I'd recommend investing in a Theragun to message your legs
Oh! Also, learn how to fuel yourself with Gels and other running foods while on runs
Well done lads! 👍🏼
This made me cry great job Louis!!🎉🎉🎉
That moment was emotional, when you were struggling and then you saw Raya. Huge congratulations!
That brought me to tears!! I watched you a lot in the early days and my feed hasn't shown you for some time--- suddenly I asked myself, how is Louis doing, and behold! You are nearly a father, as well! You may even be, since this is a month old. My son is soon 40, so as you can imagine, I resonate. 😍 congratulations to you.
Cali is very happy running! I like also your perspective..."I never run, let's do a half marathon"... I should do the saja maybe... Let's do it!!!
coming up to the big 40.
how time flies, i havent tuned in in a while but i met you at the tescos in huntingdon as you were attending SGP years ago.. glad to see you doing well still. looking forward to having a catch up on your journey.
We all need a friend like Steve!
