Today I would like to talk about the new Mi Band 7 smart fitness tracker and its features, but for your interest, I will compare its characteristics with the previous generation Mi Band 6.
The first major novelty in the Mi Band 7 is a 1.62-inch (instead of 1.56-inch in the Mi Band 6) AMOLED screen, which Xiaomi calls a “Retina-level display.” Resolution - 490 х 192 pixels. The company emphasized that the useful area of the display was increased by 25%.
The pixel density is 326 ppi. There is support for Always On Display mode. The second difference from the previous generation is that the battery capacity has grown to 180 mAh, while in the sixth version it was 125 mAh. The body of the novelty at the same time weighs only 13.5 grams.
Also, the device received a waterproof case with 5 ATM certification. In addition, there is a heart rate sensor, continuous background monitoring of blood oxygen levels (the bracelet will alert the user with vibration if the SpO2 level drops below 90%) and a sleep monitoring function. There is also a smart alarm clock, support for Bluetooth 5.2 and Xiao AI assistant, and 120 sports modes. A new collection of watch faces is included. The bracelet will work with devices based on Android 6.0 and iOS 10.0 and newer.
The bracelet also offers a training load calculator based on the EPOC value. For example, the bracelet will tell the user how much time to rest to recover before the next workout.

Hi, I just found this video while trying to search for a fitness tracker. Do you think I should purchase the MiBand 6 or would you suggest something else at the same price point?

In general, the size did not increase much in the 7th generation. Therefore, you will not even notice big changes while wearing.
When u run with it will it not be able to track your distance if do not have your phone with you.

Thanks for your summary, but I will be sticking with my MiB6, as very underwhelmed by the MiB7 as an upgrade - especially the screen.
May even look elsewhere before next years MiB8, as some good competition out there now...
You are right, there is not much point in upgrading from 6th generation to 7th. Therefore, it is worth seeing what the 8th generation will offer us.

I just want a smart watch or band that can accurately monitor: Heart Rate, Stress Level, Steps, Calories Burned, Cardio, Treadmill, Biking and Free Weights. Also, that it can last a few days on a charge and is water resistant/proof. Would like to be able to read text messages and see any incoming calls notifications. I don't care to answer or text back a notification in live time would be nice. I don't care for Google Assistant, Alexa, GPS or NFS. Would this band be good for that? The Mi 7 Band is getting bad reviews but it is new so it can possibly be fix with updated firmware.
Hi, basically any smart watch has a similar structure. It's hard to say what is better to choose. In general, such measurements Heart Rate, Stress Level, Steps, Calories Burned, Cardio, Treadmill, Biking and Free Weights in most cases are defined the same. I think not a bad choice would be Huawei Band 7.
I suppose, Mi Band 6 wrist bands aren't compatible with Mi Band 7 because it's larger, right?
You are absolutely right, the straps between 6 and 7 will be different.
@@criticaltech7091 Real shame, there are tons of bands on the market are now useless. That was one of the best things of Mi Band - the fact that there are lots of band available and compatible with any version.
@@technicalru42 This is a marketing ploy, I'm not happy about it either, but the manufacturer thinks they can make more money this way. In fact, you need to earn not money, but trust.
I personally don't think that the MiB7 is ready for the United States or other countries for that matter. It seems to be set up for China mainly. I love my MiB6 though and for now I'll be sticking with it over the MiB7.
I agree, perhaps MiB7 was made for the Chinese market. In addition to this, I agree that updating MiB6 to MiB7 does not make much sense. Perhaps the MiB8 generation will be much more interesting. Will wait! Have a nice day!
I can't see any big differences between the two, and i don't use more than ½ the features on the 6. I'll get the 7 just for upgrade.

the MiB 7 Pro is the REAL upgrade from last years MiB6.
MiB7 offers very insignificant upgrades over the MiB6, but the MiB7 Pro is a whole different ballpark.

from what I have found, the NFC only works in china (NOTICE: The Xiaomi Band 7 Pro is Chinese version, which only supports English and Chinese language. (xiaomi mi band 7 pro contains NFC function, but the national standard of international NFC is different, so the NFC function of xiaomi mi band 7 pro may cannot be used outside China.))

I think yes the 7th generation got a lot of upgrades compared to the 5th generation.
That lack of an ambient tracker is such misstep, smart band pro sorted this for similar price range
I think the price tag depends not only on the absence of an ambient tracker, but also on the lack of a GPS module.
My Mi band 6 bracelet won't measure my Cycling without my phone on me. always prints must be connected to the phone (both bluetooth and location must be turned on). I've tried everything and it won't measure me while I'm riding my bike without my phone. Someone to know ?
This is a drawback for all budget bracelets, so I'm not surprised.

In my case it only have these measurements options:
1)Every 1 min
2)Every 10 mins
3)Every 30 mins
4) Smart HR measurement

CONTINUOUS HR measurement will only be during active sports training modes. Otherwise, you will only be able to measure every 1, 10 30 minutes and Smart HR measurement. But you must remember that constantly measuring HR will wrinkle your battery pretty quickly.
Can you see the dial in the bright sun? I have a mi band 4 and I don't see anything at all when it's sunny.
Compared to 4, the brightness has become 7 higher, namely 500 nits. But in past generations it was 450 nits. But even 500 nits is not very much, so using it in direct sunlight you will have trouble seeing anything.

Unfortunately no, I have not yet seen any fitness bracelets with wireless charging.

Welp I always bring my phone with me so the gps in 7 isnt really something I need. NFC is also not a big thing in my country. So I'm sticking with my 6.
