couldn't agree more. this is a long overdue for Dionne
Yess FACTS
It sure is!!!
This is why we need our own to celebrate and give the highest honors to our legends. This IS WAY OVERDUE for Ms. Dionne Warwick!
Yes! Long overdue. Congratulations Dionne Warwick, we are honored to honor you. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Long overdue. They never even honored Burt Bacharach & Hal David who wrote all those songs for many many artists from 1959. That breaks my heart for them. Burt died in Feb. 2023 at 94. I'm happy for Dionne but why didn't they honor him in all those years, I'll never understand.
long overdue is an understatement. and this was a speech, well delivered and hilarious. And how can we not talk about her unreal beauty, especially when she was younger, ridiculously stunning
Debbie Allen, so beautifully said.
Dionne Warwick, so well deserved.
Burt Bacharach, RIP, put some great lyrics and melodies together but without the wonderful voice of Ms Dionne Warwick they wouldn't be the classics they became. Her voice has, it seems, been with me for my lifetime and I'm in my late sixties. Her voice is so special. Big love to her.
OMG...this is indeed a speech so well deserved. Give me roses when I can smell them. A living legend. We love you and thank you for your musical contribution. ❤
What a beautiful speech for a well deserving person
Congratulations Dionne! I’ve always loved your voice and your beautiful soul. You look fabulous! ❣️ 🌹
Me too ❤
What the World Needs Now is Love...
I didn't see the whole show, but this is the way it should be done, "Give me my flowers while I am still alive" To see these people, Dionne included, honored while still living so respectfully and beautifully was very well done and so thoughtful. A tribute after you're gone is nice, but it's even nicer to see it while you are still with us. Congratulations honorees! Tributes well deserved.
Her beloved cousin Whitney is smiling down from heaven. 💜
That was beautiful. I had the pleasure to work with Miss Warwick in the 90's. We were both on the Bill in Capri, Italy 🇮🇹 with Mr. Pepino DiCapri. Love you Miss Dionne. ❤
Yes long overdue! She deserves it and more honors. She isn't a favorite of mine. Yet one of the best female singers. So legendary!
Dionne is legend.
Long overdue, She is one of the best. Hopefully Miss Patti next
Golden Voice!! Her voice is so unique!! A voice that can’t be duplicated.
The most beautiful speech by Debbie and it brings me to tears. Everything said is so true about Dionne. Upon listening to her artistry early in the 60s, I discovered music and have used it to guide my life and my career for more than 60 years. Thank you Dionne.
Lifting up the spirit of our fellow Americans and global communities.
Beautiful speech Ms. Allen. My first love in music was Whitney Houston, when I bought a DVD tape of Arista Celebration, I saw Dionne Warwick sung her famous song "I'll Never Love This Way Again", I knew that song but her that was the first time. Up until now Whitney was but now not alone, I love Dionne Warwick and her voice, and her songs... + Momma of Whitney wow beautiful voice as well, and Aretha too.
Deserves every honor due. It's a shame it took so long. Dionne Warwick is a natural resource and treasure.
She sure is!!!
These are golden words,💛🖤💯
Yaaaasss!! Give her the roses, orchids, magnolias, and all the exquisite flowers she deserves NOW!!! A living legend. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I, like so many others, am baffled as to why Dionne Warwick is just being honored with this award. How was she missed for all these years (same for Billy Crystal & Barry Gibbs)? Ms. Dionne has been a wonderful pioneer in the music industry. I am so thankful she is getting her flowers 💐🌷 now. Thank you for being an inspiration to so many singers, as well as, for being so Strong, Spirited, Confident and Talented. You really deserved this honor!
Congratulations iconic Dionne Warrick!❤🙂👑🎤🎼🥳 Thank you for sharing your enormous talent. Wonderful tribute from legendary Debbie Allen!
This honor had me crying! The soundtrack of our lives - amen.
What a lovely speech! Congratulations, Ms. Dionne Warwick!
Ms. Dionne Warwick, congratulations, well deserved!
What an excellent tribute 👏🏾
Long overdue for one of the best in the music game to ever to it.
We are very proud of you Dionne! Regards from Brazil.
Congratulations Ms.Warwick 🎉❤! Well Deserved.
My baby love u Dionne 🖤
She is an absolute legend, congrats so well deserved this beautifull honerie ❤❤❤
This award is so long overdue. But now it's here👍. You've always deserved it. Thank you Ms Dionne for your gift in song to us. Love you God bless you ♥️🙏✝️✌️😎
Well deserving... High time... Big fan from India
Iam a long long time fan of the Grand and Great Madam Dionne Warrick and Dionne Warwick l was introduced to the Queen as a little kid.and.fell in love with the voice and the class a little kid and bought her records cute her pictures out of magazines bought her albummms took posters oof the walls while the girls were jumping and yelling over the beatles l was having ball with the one and only Miss Dionne Warwick
I love Dionne singing more all the time. I recently bought the six cd set of her 70s albums.
How sweet! How deserving! What took so long?
She was not the first to win a Grammy Award in the Pop category. Ella won the first 4 Grammy given in that category.
Are you positive Ella won in 'Pop' category?
Actually Ella was the first black woman to win a Grammy and Dionne the first for a Pop recording.
@@Jazzybleu1 looks like we have a winner!
@@Jazzybleu1 Wrong , Ella won best Jazz Recording for the Duke Ellington Song Book, and Best Vocal Performance Female (which is the pop category) for the Irving Berlin Song Book besting Doris Day, Peggy Lee, Eddie Gorme and Keely Smith in 1959. She and Barbra Streisand are tied with 5 Grammys each for Female Vocal in the Pop category.
Love how Debbie's kept her long hair, after all these years.
Amo Muiiito Dione!
Gratidão pela homenagem merecida!
👏👏👏🇧🇷💙👏👏👏
Iconic ❤❤❤❤❤
Beautiful
Congratulations, Ms. Warwick! So well deserved. We love you!
Wonderful tribute!❤
I hope Whitney Houston should be pwsrt of this award. So qualifed!
Antes tarde do que nunca! Parabéns Dionne Warwick!
I didn’t know the president was there! She is so deserving of all of her accolades. I recently saw a UA-cam video that said that in the early 90s Dionne invited Tupac, Snoop Dogg, and Suge Knight to her home, out of love, for them to think about the discriminatory lyrics they were making at the time. Although they had a notorious perception at the time, she didn’t fear them, and only had love for them.
Google Ms Dionne’s version of “You’re gonna hear from me” Fire 🔥
Wow
❤❤❤
Congratulations Dionne❤
👏🏾 💯 👏🏾
❤ Her
You can really breed in San Jose,,,,,,, I was born and raised in San Jose.
Beautiful 🙏🏾🤎
Love Power
Call me CRazy But Dionne Warwick; Fine as Hell. Mind need that retirement snap
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
It is long overdue. That commercial did it. But Love prevails
Which commercial?
I loved the overall tribute but what a missed opportunity with Barry Gibb in the room. He produced one of her biggest hits Heartbreaker. I love her early hits but where was I Know I’ll Never Love this Way Again and That’s What Friends Are For?!! Either way, well deserved, congrats Dionnne!!!
❤❤❤😊😊
Oh, if only Whitney was here to honor her😢😢
🙏🏽💖
Correction she was the second Black woman to win in the pop category at the Grammys. Ella Fitzgerald was the first in 1959.
Right. She was the first of her generation is more accurate. Also, she was the first artist to win both the Grammys for Pop and RnB in the same year (night) which were only achieved by two more artists till this day.
Dionne Warwick should have received this twenty years ago.
While no shade to Queen Latifah, Patti LaBelle should have received this award ten years ago..
How about giving one to Lionel Richie and and Tom Jones
She can thank Burt Bacharach.....long over due.
This is who BET should be paying tribute not Puffy Daddy
Dionne should have been recognized by the Kennedy Center long before Diana Ross. Both ladies are classy Black women but Dionne Warwick touch the entire world with her music.
Oh please
So did Diana whether you like her or not, and she was a bigger hit maker than Dionne , and both started at the same time, Diana being the bigger star at home in the US and internationally.
Both women are deserving of this award.
The Supremes (Diana Ross) were bigger stars in the 1960s than Dionne Warwick was at during the hight of her fame and popularity with the Burt Bacharach/Hal David producer writing team. The Supremes had charted 12 number one records on the Pop charts during the 60s while Dionne Warwick didn't score a number one record until years later in the 70s when she teamed up with the Spinners with song "Then Came You." So, Diana Ross was rightly so a bigger star during the 60s and went on to be a bigger star in the 70s with 6 more number 1 US records and a successful movie, TV, and Broadway career. Hats off to both women, all accolades well deserved.
@@mlane8980 Lets not over due it there, Diana did not have a broadway career - EVER !, and she had 4 #1s in the 70s, but those were her only top 10s in 70s. In early 80s she had 2 #1s, and 6 more top 10s between 80-84. Her movie career started well with Lady Sings the Blues, but Mahogany was okay, The Wiz was a huge bomb and she was done on the big screen by 1978.
Debbie Allen getting a Kennedy Center Honors before Dionne Warwick is absolutely absurd.
I thought the same, but then, who says Debbie Allen doesn't also deserve the award. I'm just glad that both women have now been honored. Along with the Queen! Queen Latifah!
Why Debbie was/is a fabulous dancer and choreographer and actress with 20 Emmy Nominations, 5 wins, 2 Tony Awards, she a multi-faceted entertainer. Your comment is absurd and completely without merit.
Next is madonna tribute, she deserve more tham anyone!!!
This award is long over due and don’t pan the cameras on Joe Manchin’s face!
Why tf is joe manchin there?!!!
Why wouldn't he be? Is attendance limited to only far-left loons?
In what world does Debbie Allen receive a Kennedy Center Honor before Dionne Warwick?
This one obviously....and she was so deserving !
Debbie Allen got the award before Dionne…..something wrong there.
The IRS Honored Ms. Warwick with a tax bill that she couldn't pay.
❤❤❤
