Beethoven Cello Sonata No.3 in A major, op.69
Allegro ma non tanto
Scherzo: Allegro molto (11:50)
Adagio cantabile - Allegro vivace (16:54)
Jian Wang 지안 왕, cello
Yeol Eum Son 손열음, piano
One of the great collaborations for this masterpiece by Beethoven. Now, could these same two performers bring this same passionate, intense realization into the recording studios, and create the ultimate complete set of Beethoven cello/piano sonatas? That would be a monumental gift to classical music for this generation. The lyrical genius of Son and the intensity of Wang.
멋져요! 감사합니다. 두 분 연주자님
Great collaboration; artful playing; great music. Result - a memorable experience. Bravo! Have they performed the other 4 Beethoven cello sonatas? If not; should have.
I love her Beethoven. I love everything she does, but each author interprets it, I think, in the ideal form. That's saying a lot about someone with such huge repertoire as hers . Of Beethoven, specifically includes the 5 concerts. Only exists in YT video of the Rondo of Concerto No. 2 with Lorin Maazel. It is absolute perfection. She has a serious, genuine Beethoven. Passionate but without fuss. Deep, not rhetoric. Ideal, I say, like everything she does, as she is.
There's a cellist performing here too, you know. 🙃
@@republiccooper Mr. Wang did a very strong and fast performance. Perfect sense and direction for dynamics, but he missed somes notes. One of the great cellists of our time. Not my top 5 but it is just my opinion. On the other hand, Yeol Eum Son was perfect! Shinning, very clear, absolutely pedal control and joyfull to watch.

I admit, I am in love with the pianist - so confident. Actually a little more musical than Yuja, but not quite the fingers. Still a delight to watch. Wang's no nonsense approach is very Beethoven - strong and brash - good choice.
You think she's more musical than Yuja? But that Yuja's playing has more brilliance?
It's better to have the music under your fingers than to just have the fingers.
