I Love Tomahawks! this one is very nice would love to have it and try it out. Im Full Mohawk Native American grew up on a reservation upstate NY. I would love to own a Tomahawk like that not just for the bushcraft but for my heritage too. it be a nice piece to pass along someday. My Grandfather had some real amazing ones from his father who was a chief he owned Many REAL tomahawks, Pipe Tomahawks and stone clubs. along with these Amazing head dresses and some cool bead work. i wish i was able to have gotten at least One weapon hand me down. i do have a crap load of arrow heads, and stone tools for grinding and cutting, but we had a big family and as the elders left, everything got divided and the tools eventually went their separate ways along with the family.
Thanks for the GAW, I have the original woods chogan and love it, but when I got it the head was on the handle so tight it was near impossible to get off.
This tomahawk has been on my short list for a while. Seems a great bang for the buck option without the fit and finish issues I hear Cold Steels sometimes have.
I have the first chogan that they came out with and I love it. I’ve used it on countless hiking trips and general camp tasks. My oldest son would love to have this one to use with his Boy Scout Troop.
Who's that in the big Japanese car? Dealing sushi from a German bar Well no one knows but he won't get far I took my tomahawk for a satellite walk.. :)
I've got the original and i have used it a lot. I've never been camping with it but I use it for all kinds of utility work around the house. It is so much more versatile than just a hatchet and the edge can be honed razor sharp. I do put it in my get home bag when I go on long trips. The black coating is a nice touch. My handle is mostly covered in baseball bat grip tape so the darkened handle doesn't really matter. I like the fact the sheath comes with it. I had to purchase mine separate which annoyed me a little.
I have 2 sons and 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and always am looking for a quality product for them to appreciate. I have had several ckrt knives and cannot find them but have not heard anything from the kids saying they would not hold an edge . I am in the marker for a great quality hatchet or tomahawk . Thank you for an excellent review.
I definitely would like to have that. I have had good experience with the base model in the past. It is a surprisingly good chopper for its size and makes a great camp hammer. Hammers can be one of those awkward camp items that you always need but no one actually wants to pack. With the woods chogan, it's right there with your chopper so you don't have to settle for either using a rock/chunk of wood or having to lug around an actual hammer. I am one of those people who very much prize the ability to use one tool for as many purposes as I can, and this definitely scratches that itch.
Think I might have to head up to the factory this week and get one of my own. Would be very handy to have bikepacking out here in the Pacific Northwest and when I'm back home in Northern Michigan.
I've had my eye on the woods chogan for a while but have never pulled the trigger in buying one. This one looks especially cool. Always have wanted to try out a tomahawk in the woods because I never have before. Thanks for the chance to win and the great content!!
Was a knife maker in the 90s, now a pro chainsaw artist and kydex guy , just started my tomahawk collection, would love to use that chogan on my first long term campsite build .
That would sure come in handy when I become a hermit living off grid, communing with nature in the wilds of the Boston Commons. Still enjoying your content after 7 years.
Big fan of CRKT. Started buying their knives more often for my collection. Haven't bought a tomahawk yet. Good looking design. Thanks for the great review!
I like that version a lot. I do have one and love having it. Asked for it and got one for Christmas 2016. It came pretty sharp and handy after a hurricane that fell a few trees around the house. Any version is highly recommended.
Never used a tomahawk before, got to hold one of these before and it seems pretty nice. I usually use a machete when I go camping but I would really like to try one of these out someday. Thanks for the GAW.
Picked one up when they came out. Perfect balance between weight and length. Replaced my Estwing with it after the first swing. the black coating is absolute badass!!! HOOK ME UP CHRIS!
The Chogan is a great hawk. I did a mod on mine with a slightly shorter handle, walnut stained handle and tung oil, I sanded, polished and blued the head. It looks awesome!
I like the design of the Crkt tomahawk good camp work design with hammer and looks like a pretty good thrower. I also like the ease of replacement for the handle if in the woods. I have several other types that I primarily like to throw and I have not tried one of these yet. Thanks and Be Good...
I have been looking at this tomahawk for a while now cause rmj is a bit out of my price range for the time being but I’m glad the paired up with Crkt to put this out and hope to add this to my backpacking equipment one of these days soon
I've had the more tactical version with the spike for about 3 years. Honestly it cuts well and my only complaint was at the time a sheath wasn't available. And the hammer poll hadn't been released. I made one until their leather one came out. I never considered painting the blade. That black finish looks sharp.
I love the look of a tomahawk. They just have a basic natural look. Love it. This one really looks cool with that leather head wrap. Might have to purchase one of these fellas.
Thanks for the chance to win an awesome too Chris I’ve been looking at one of these hawks for awhile now didn’t even know they had a newer addition then the original thanks again
Had one of the SOG tacticool ones . Got it s a gift. Really opened me up to using them for camping and bushcrafting. That would be a much needed upgrade. Good video and comparing.
Went back and watch your video on the CRKT Woods Chogan 2730 T-Hawk with 1055 Carbon Steel Axe Head and Hickory Handle. Found it a WM for 30.00 and the sheath on for another 19.00. So I ordered it. Maybe a little more up keep. But the cost savings is worth it. Thanks for the two videos!!!
I've been looking at both the Cold Steel hawks and the original version of this one. Not sure which to get, so will probably have to try both! Would be awesome to win one. Good luck to everyone. Thanks for all your work on the great content, Chris. I've learned a lot from you.
it was sharpened, but not real sharp, I resharpened the entire hawk when I got it and now it's pretty dang scary and it seems to hold the edge, I have not had to touch it up. So sharp it cut the club and lacing in my sheath and I had to repair the sheath and re-lace the entire deal.
PREPAREDMIND101 - Thank you for taking a look at the Black Woods Chogan, Very well done overview. Much appreciated!
CRKT OFFICIAL Although I have a Cold Steel frontier hawk, I do think your hawks are very cool.
Been watching him for years, always a great honest reviewer
And now everyone knows that the companies do watch the reviews! and thanks for the chance to win it!
Keep supporting this channel, Thx CRKT
Thanks for the chance to win the Chogan. It looks great.
Love the chogan , hated the sheath so I had one made out of saddle leather.

Please and thank you.
Been thinking of getting a tomahawk. Figured i could replace my big knife and axe. Save wieght. Looks like this fits the bill.
Now that’s sweet, bow I’d love to have that, still don’t have an ax yet can def use this. Great channel brother.
hey brother! when you doing your give away! ive been sharing your channel everywhere!
Mr. Wicked Hey thanks, when I reach 500. I appreciate your support.
Thanks for the GAW, I have the original woods chogan and love it, but when I got it the head was on the handle so tight it was near impossible to get off.
Don't own one but I want one. Hope you ship to South Korea (if by chance I should win).
This tomahawk has been on my short list for a while. Seems a great bang for the buck option without the fit and finish issues I hear Cold Steels sometimes have.
Hope it's my Turn...
Gregor
I know right?
I'm the real Frank Nolan.
Thanks for reviewing the tomahawk! Been watching you for years and always enjoy your product reviews!
Haulk Chogan!
you got it BROTHER lol
I have the first chogan that they came out with and I love it. I’ve used it on countless hiking trips and general camp tasks. My oldest son would love to have this one to use with his Boy Scout Troop.
Who's that in the big Japanese car?
Dealing sushi from a German bar
Well no one knows but he won't get far
I took my tomahawk for a satellite walk.. :)
I liked the burned finish on the handle. It always makes a handle look pretty cool.

Very cool looking tomahawk. Never have one or been able to travel on but would love to give it a go. Thank you Chris keep up the good work.
Haven't really used a tomahawk for wood processing before. But, I'd like to try this one. Thanks for the GAW.
Great looking tomahawk, hadn't seen the special edition until your video, thanks.
looks like a nice tomahawk. Thanks for your reviews of gear. It helps sort through whats worth getting and using.
Looks nice. I have the original and I love it. Take it camping with me everywhere and it comes in handy with the stakes and processing wood
Looks really nice, I don't like how much the top of the shaft sticks out at the top
Was a knife maker in the 90s, now a pro chainsaw artist and kydex guy , just started my tomahawk collection, would love to use that chogan on my first long term campsite build .
Very nice looking tomahawk. Nice review. Thank you for the GAW chance
Love the darker look. Stay awesome Chris
Really digging the look of that burnt handle!
I have a cold steel pipe hawk but I've been wanting to get my hands on one of these for a while.
Like the addition of the black. Handle looks good too.
I have a few CRKT's but no tomahawks yet. Liked them all so far, and doubt I will be disappointed with this.
I like the 1055, really a good steel for this use. I also like the parkerized finish.
That would sure come in handy when I become a hermit living off grid, communing with nature in the wilds of the Boston Commons. Still enjoying your content after 7 years.
Love hawks. Interested how the coating is going to hold up but definitely looks cool.
Big fan of CRKT. Started buying their knives more often for my collection. Haven't bought a tomahawk yet. Good looking design. Thanks for the great review!
Wow! Love the look blacked out!! Thanks Chris!!
I like the black finish it makes an already cool design an eye catcher.
That's awesome! Always loved axes but never looked at a tomahawk! I'm have to check out your other video to see how it preforms!
I bought the original after watching your video, actually got it for Christmas. Love CRKT and love this channel, would love this blade
I like that version a lot. I do have one and love having it. Asked for it and got one for Christmas 2016. It came pretty sharp and handy after a hurricane that fell a few trees around the house. Any version is highly recommended.
I have the tactical CRKT chogan and always wanted the woods chogan, this one looks even better. I would love to get my hands on this one too.
Never used a tomahawk before, got to hold one of these before and it seems pretty nice. I usually use a machete when I go camping but I would really like to try one of these out someday. Thanks for the GAW.
I like it. I don’t have tomahawk. I can wait 10 days or more for a drawing. Thanks Chris.
I'm digging the color combo. I have the regular version, and it's been great. Happy to have a second one.
Picked one up when they came out. Perfect balance between weight and length. Replaced my Estwing with it after the first swing. the black coating is absolute badass!!! HOOK ME UP CHRIS!
Very cool design. Thanks Chris for your content and giveaways. Your stuff is always informative and entertaining.
The Chogan is a great hawk. I did a mod on mine with a slightly shorter handle, walnut stained handle and tung oil, I sanded, polished and blued the head. It looks awesome!

Good video. Thanks for the GAW. Never used that one but love some of the Cold Steel ones.
Great review! Thanks for the GAW opportunity!
Keep the videos coming. Always look forward to them.
This would be a nice upgrade from my Estwing 14" hatchet.
Ok. Let’s try again. Thanks for the chance
To let you know . That burning the wood slightly makes it harder. That's why when a spear is made ,the tip goes in the fire .To harden it
I have been looking at this tomahawk for a while now cause rmj is a bit out of my price range for the time being but I’m glad the paired up with Crkt to put this out and hope to add this to my backpacking equipment one of these days soon
Thanks for the GAW Chris! I would love to have it!
Looks like a very important part of history to me. Would help me build my cabin in Montana.
I wanted one of these just never pulled the trigger. I was in between the coldsteel rifleman or chogan.
Nice Tomahawk, Thanks for taking the time to review both versions
What a good looking hawk. It will look even better once its been well used.
Big fan of your videos over the past few years. There's not a lot of knife/wilderness survival channels these days. Keep up the great work Chris!
I've had the more tactical version with the spike for about 3 years. Honestly it cuts well and my only complaint was at the time a sheath wasn't available. And the hammer poll hadn't been released. I made one until their leather one came out. I never considered painting the blade. That black finish looks sharp.
Thanks for the chance Chris! I've almost bought the original version of this so many times
Nice looking rig! It would be to see how well the coating holds up.
Ready to test it !!! I have small hachet love to compare. ..thanks for the vid...Bruno
Love tomahawks. Thanks for the chance and GAW
Chris, love the channel, excellent video as always. Thanks for all of the advice of yours I’ve followed in the past, haven’t steered me wrong yet
Nice review Chris. Thanks. Don't worry, I won't ask you when there will be a drawing. I'll be patient. I do not have one, but it sure looks nice!
I love the look of a tomahawk. They just have a basic natural look. Love it. This one really looks cool with that leather head wrap. Might have to purchase one of these fellas.
Would love to get that! Almost pulled the trigger on one about a year ago after seeing the older review of this.
Great looking tomahawk, love the burnt handle.
The side profile really looks like an oversized railroad spike hawk. It'd be cool to try my hand at using the tomahawk head to carve a new handle.
Nice tomahawk. Thanks for another great GAW Chris!
Thanks for the chance to win an awesome too Chris I’ve been looking at one of these hawks for awhile now didn’t even know they had a newer addition then the original thanks again
Never had one only have the cold steel trail boss but would love to have this as my first tomahawk
Had one of the SOG tacticool ones . Got it s a gift. Really opened me up to using them for camping and bushcrafting. That would be a much needed upgrade. Good video and comparing.
I've got a couple cold steel tomahawks. Very much love to compare the 2
Nice video. I’m going to go check the original review right now. I’ve only used axes so I’m curious about what a tomahawk does different.
I have a trail hawk and the rifleman hawk, both from CS.......that looks like it'd be fun to try out and compare.
I don’t get into GAWs as much any more, but I would love to have this!
Looks awesome. I couldn't reasonably buy an RMJ Tactical model and don't need to with something like this. Thanks for showing it to us.
Good looking hawk! Thanks for the chance.
Great video Chris now I have to go back and watch the original one! Definitely an interesting piece
Found your channel a couple of months ago. You have a great channel, great job!!
Nice looking hawk. Keep up the good work Chris.
Looks nice but curious about the edge. The way it is on section of blade going back to handle
it was sharpened, but not real sharp, I resharpened the entire hawk when I got it and now it's pretty dang scary and it seems to hold the edge, I have not had to touch it up.
So sharp it cut the club and lacing in my sheath and I had to repair the sheath and re-lace the entire deal.
The Black Woods Chogan looks great, I like what they did. I'm a fan of the tomahawk, they are light weight and effect tool.
I like the looks of the black finish. I have the original and am satisfied with its performance. I bought it after watching your review of it.
I love the looks of tomahawks, and CRKT makes them look even cooler. Thanks Chris!
It looks like a perfect size for my needs. Awesome GAW!
I have a few axes but no tomahawks. Would love to try one out! Thanks
Been eyeing one of these for a while. Love Ryan Johnsons designs.
Thank you again for the review of what appears to be another great product.
Nice looking hawk. The finish is great and like the handle.
I love tomahawks, they are fast, nimble, and quite fun to use
That is one cool looking tomahawk! I like the added features... I would love to add one to my collection...
Thanks for the opportunity! I don't yet own it, but I did pick one up in Cabela's once.
