  • After six years of living and preaching the vegan lifestyle, I no longer follow a vegan, plants-only diet. Instead, I've started eating meat again. Here's why.
    I hope you enjoy the video! Sending you so much love and big hugs! ♥

    Ok so I'm 14yrs vegetarian and losing hair, tired all the time, anaemic and now starting to lose muscle mass! So glad I found your video as it's given me that final push that I needed. Thank you 🙏 Very informative and honest. Can I ask how you reintroduced meat?

      Mare, start by adding bone broth into dishes. Easy recipe is bones baked for 20 minutes in the oven and then put into water to slow cook for at least 24 hours. Just add salt. Leave in the marrow. Strain into bottles and store refrigerated for a few days as you use it. This is a 2 fold good way to start eating animals whether vegetarian, vegan, including never having eaten any animals or animal products. 1. It allows the body to acclimate easily, 2. It will give you the b vitamins, iron, and amino acid sequencing that has been missing in your diet which without has slowly been killing you, along with all of those great minerals! We recommend bison for many reasons. 1. It has overall the MOST nutrients of any animals, 2. It’s humanely raised and if you source it well, humanely harvested, and not allowed grains, fattening agents, hormones, antibiotics, 3. Bison are kin in N. America with a reciprocal relationship to humans that is spiritually powerful. Our part in the reciprocity is to give them a place to roam, eat, and increase their numbers, and so also to treat them with respect and to use all of their bodies for food and other uses without waste. As you get well, add a tiny bit of glandular of different glands to your dishes, especially dishes using ground meats. The first time I had buffalo heart, I felt my heart energy in such a palpable way, I knew I was in tune with earth and was myself becoming much stronger than if I were taking in only plants. I was forced to grow up vegetarian and startled eating animals in my 20’s. I felt so good when I ate some chicken for the first time, even better when I had some beef however nothing has been as good for my body and mind as eating bison. I also visit bison near me and thank them. Presently I eat lamb from NZ, whey from Ireland, Bison from USA and Canada, wild salmon from Alaska, oysters and mussels from PEI, sheep and goat cheese, goat milk (flash pasteurized and not homogenized), organic eggs (fertile preferred), and a wide variety of vegetables, fruits (fresh and dried), nuts, seeds, grains, beans, legumes, sprouts, herbs and roots. Keep in mind that detoxing from toxic chemicals is also needed even if you eat organic. In part healthy eating helps but more may be needed. Always use gentle methods. Enjoy your healing.

    I got unhealthy trying to go vegan, so I had to add meat back into my diet too. At the same time I was readjusting my diet, I read about a woman who almost died from losing the ability to eat vegtables. Her road back to life was to drink veg broth, the work her way up to cooked veg, the moved onto meat broth, and the meat itself. It was a big alert warning to be careful to care for our bodies' needs, which is to eat proper food. Blessing our food with respectful appreciation for the gift of the food that is being given to us, that we may have life. Is a very good way to thank God for the important sacrifice of food.

    My house is surrounded by water and grasslands with cows. In the spring I see plenty of nests with many small birds. I see that within a month few young birds are still alive. They are eaten by fish and birds. Their life is tough. The cows are always grazing happily and without stress. Cows don't have a bad life on their green grasslands.

    I think everybody should reduce their meat intake but not completely remove it from your diet.
    I made a nice bowl of chicken soup and wondered why it tasted so awful. Then I realised there was not pieces of chicken in it. 😂
    Chicken soup without chicken is bloody horrible. 😋
    What worries me about plants and fruits is the types of herbicides, fungacides and other chemicals.
    12 in Australia have been banned in America and Europe.
    Apparently we still use them which is scary.
    Imagine consuming deadly toxic chemicals so powerful farmers have air tight tractors and totally avoid the off gassing of deadly herbicide for weeks.
    If you listen to Ted Nugents rant then he explains how he poisons every living animal on his farm.
    You dont want rabbits eating your carrots which means they need to die.
    I think we should all go back to our own vege gardens.
    At least that way we have some choice over how we kill bugs 🐛
    Anyway glad to hear you're feeling bettet after switching back to meat, eggs and snaggs.
    Gezzez your body must have had an orgasm after a day or two. 😂
    I mean a nice steak is just so tasty. 😋

      Same history here, almoast 9,5 years of being vegan strait.. I like that Vanessa is not appologizing for quitting veganism. Please, never apologize for returning to nature, to who we are. Never apologize for eating what our digestive system has adapted to over millions of years of evolution. Consuming plants exclusively has only occurred periodically throughout human history, never for an entire lifetime. Me myself I also ignored basic knowledge that it was the period of many millions of years during which our ancestors began to hunt and evolved into hunters that significantly impacted the development of the human brain. Consuming high-calorie meat and animal fats had a direct influence on our evolution and made us who we are today - humans.

    Very good and informative video. You've done alot of research and it shows. My wife had been a vegetarian for many years before I met her. It inpart took a toll on her health. Her doctor told that she needed to eat meat or it was likely that she would not live. She is doing better, but there's many years of damaging effects from been a vegetarian. If you happen to watch keto/carnivore channels, it seems many former vegans go back to eating meat in the 4-6 year range due to health issues on a vegan diet.
    Your bicycle video on "being car free" popped up my suggestions list. "Not Just Bikes" and "Shifter" are a couple of good bike and infrastructure channels.

    • @VanessaDixon
      @VanessaDixon  Рік тому +3

      Yes, so true. I've heard similar about many ex vegans switching to a carnivore diet, and I can understand why, as meat provides many more nutrients in a bioavailable form which the body is able to absorb better. I really hope your wife makes a full recovery and is well again soon. Oh thank you so much for the recommendations on biking channels, I'll check them out!

    Vegan foods aren’t necessarily bad, if you eat out of nutrient dense land. Also vegan recipies I see are so poor, I feel Indian recipies, especially southern Indian recipies are whata complete vegetarian ot vegan meals should be.

    However I saw in one of your last videos that you were considering buying a car and I have a suggestion….
    Instead of buying a car maybe look into hiring one like only when you require it that way you won’t need to pay any of the overheads like rego and maintenance.
    Cars are shit, sure they give us a lot of freedom but they also take away a lot of freedoms by giving us too much convenience.
    Also I don’t mean to be an asshole but biking will be easier with a balanced diet, when you exercise you need carbs and there’s no vegan diet that can match what you get from meat.

    • @VanessaDixon
      @VanessaDixon  Рік тому +1

      Thank you so much Luke, I really appreciate the advice. Car hiring is something I'm definitely looking into. I agree, nutrients in meat are more bioavailable for us than eating a vegan diet, which is one of the reasons I went back to eating meat again.

      Each of us in our own countries need to diligently regain the power of oversight for the safety and well-being of the people and the animals and the foods they consume. Be it plant or animal, a healthy food supply is essential. One of the most unhealthy things to consume would be food from an animal that has been under stress. Our food supply in all its forms became unhealthy when it became big business profit margin focused only, which had no concern for the soil, animals, and the people. Pray and seek ways to take back the responsibility for the well-being of all those concerned. It was a hostile takeover of robber baron money makers that placed us all in a vulnerable position, we were decieved, and became compliant to their unhealthy demands. They used marketing to cover up the huge lack of healthy techniques. Now, we need to clearly define what healthy techniques mean, now we need to reclaim our responsibilities, as best we can.
