I think next you should build a city either in the blue ridge mountains of north carolina or a countryside area in the Piedmont area of north carolina(PS,im from nc)😊
A small New England detail that might go a long way: New England is super rocky, I'd argue 50% of the properties have a giant rock or two in their yard. Sprinkling some boulders among the trees could be a nice touch of color to break up the details, especially within the well manicured lawn areas and farmland. Glad to have found this series
If you wish to make the landscape more realistic, you should add more beaches, lakes, and other bodies of water among the main island. (Such as Bass River, which flows from inland out into the sea). Edit: Parks & Recs areas are also very common to find.
I agree with this. Massachusetts and New England in general having been under the glaciers during the ice age, it is pockmarked by weird lakes and some odd coastal formations like Nahant beach
CPP, Biffa, 2$20 and Overcharged Egg are all going back to or putting more emphasis on Cities 1 because of the bugs in CS2. This is the only series that achieves slightly different-looking cities in CS2, and it’s good to see someone getting decent results in this game - even if it takes lots of mods to get it to work!
Thank you for continuing your series despite the negativity and upset videos from literally every other major cs content creators. Love your content, keep it up.
You have fast become my favourite youtuber, i wait for your uploads. The new rural road looks to be like a 1950s motrosport race track, what a dream that would be!
That is quite the compliment Trayambak. I appreciate that, thank you! Interesting thought of a 1950s racetrack, but I guess part of the beauty of this medium is the ability to invoke feelings and references in people :-)
Your CS2 series is the most impressive one I’ve seen yet. I know a lot of creators are drifting back to CS1 as of late, which I totally understand and support, but it’s still really cool seeing your CS2 builds 👍🏼
Ideas for future episodes: Military base (if possible) alot of cities in the US have a military base in them and with Islands and the acsess to the atlantic ocean Im sure we would see one. Build an artificial airport in the rural area - alot of rural areas have dirt airports where farmers will fly planes to fertilize their crops Names for areas: "ThunderBay" - WW2 inspired, good name for an area with a nice beach and marina / Harbour - famous for its role in helping supplies get to Europe "Nauset" - Name of natives who used to live there
As someone who live in Connecticut next to Massachusetts I recommend adding the Commuter Rail train line running through your city, it runs starting in Boston and branches out to cap cod, New Hampshire, down going towards Providence Rhode Island and they are adding a new stop in Springfield as well so just a quick recommendation there to make it that much better and more realistic and it is one of the biggest pieces of public transportation in the state when it comes to trains if not the best. It’s run by the MBTA 👊👊👊
I tend to watch less CS2 videos than CS1, because all cities look too much a like (I blame CO for that), but you.. Damn, I can't stop watching. It's so nice and detailed already.
Two dollars twenty will release one soon. Sorry Infra, I love your Cs1 videos - i think you are one of the best builders on yt, but cs2 is still a poor game. Not your fault, and I understand your position, but I would love a cs1 video from you.
Cranberries are a big eastern MA export - so there are tons of artificial cranberry bogs in the area, a very unique crop that I haven’t seen somebody imagine in CS
A lot of farms in NE are also small town “hobby” farms, so they will also have attractions selling their product directly - ice cream, vegetable stands, wineries, etc take a look at Truro winery on the cape - I love New England I just want to keep talking about it.
I live in mass and one detail your kinda missing with some of these areas is that Massachusetts cost is covered with large beaches, and there costal marshes . Great video tho👍🏻
Regarding the farms you built with no fields - with Anarchy, just do the field as base so it keeps producing and plopp the greenhouses on top of it... you can also use another terrain to layer it on top of the farmland :) Anarchy is amazing for this!
The compact interchange reminds me of some of the wild exits on Thr Merritt Parkway in Connecticut. Also you don’t have to smooth steep terrain next to roads too much, there’s a lot of steep rock face next to roads in the hilly areas of Massachusetts and New England.
As a Massachusetts native I really appreciate this series! The only one I care to watch as it seems to be the one unique CS2 creation thus far. Keep up the good work! If your looking for names here are the 4 largest farm developments in Mass: 1. Langwater Farm 2. Makepeace Farms 3. Davis Farm 4. Clarkdale Fruit Farms
It's amazing that you can do so much with so little with what Cities Skylines 2 has to offer in the way of detailing and design. I can't hardly wait to see what people are going to be able to create whenever we finally have assets that look as good as the one's in the first game....💯👍
This whole new episode felt super Massachusetts with the farming mixed in with those industrial parts on the property. That housing development with the manicured grass was perfect as well, I’d say though contemporary looking houses like that are very rare here. Loving this series. Chowder Bay has some New Bedford, Massachusetts vibes, I’d look that up. Biggest fishing port in the US.
As a denizen of New England I have to say the community led you astray on the route 28 being diverted away from the town center. In most rural places, especially with limited space, most state routes go right through, or at least close to the center of a town and have high connectivity. In fact, if you look at the actual route 28, it has more towns on it than off. Same with route 6 once it becomes a state route where it connects to route 28. In the archipelago of Grand Isle County in Vermont, the US Route 2 has towns on it (although they're VERY small). Anyway, just had to nerd out. Your changes look fantastic, so I'm not suggesting you do anything about it, but I had to suggest what "realism" might look like.
Hi Doug, thanks for the input - there's quite a few aspects where we are certainly taking liberties by now haha. I always appreciate a nerd out btw, and thank you for the compliment!
Facts, I live in NY, and state route 29 continues down our Main Street out the other side of town. Which is oddly close to state route 28 in the series lmfaoooo
Really nice work and nice video as always. I really love the way these videos are made and I gladly watch them in their entirety. Thanks for providing us good quality content
when creating especially rural roads you have to remember that roads go to places and don't usually just circle around like a race track. I think it makes your roads look even more natural when they are made to connect two towns like 100 years before the interstate was there.
i wonder if you could make those custom farms functional by placing the zoning area as normal, but then covering it up with the greenhouses and another surface texture
I'm afraid that the industrial building at the ground water extraction site might pollute the water. Maybe it won't be an issue because it was plopped with dev mode. But keep an eye on it.
@@Infrastructurist I can’t believe you just watched something on my channel 😂 thank you so much! You are one of my absolute favourites! Made my day! 💜💜

Northeaten US Native tribes (Six Nations) word for Water sounds like "Ohneka", Sun sounds like "Yotahala". A oddly enough, a large number of those local cities are dirived from Original Nations words. maybe that thought helps?
Here in New England most of our farm fields and pastures are relatively small and subdivided by stone walls (that are effectively tree-lines) -- Infrastructurist pretty-much approximated that look. Nice. Oh, and there are virtually NO roads without powerlines. Oh, and one would expect to see a few small ponds here and there too...which is hard to do in CS1 and CS2...
Not sure if this would be possible in the game but this area of Massachusetts has many islands that are not connected to the mainland by road and are only connected by ferry. It would be cool to see you build an area like this! Great video as always and love from Rhode Island
I will say if you want an example of a real sunken highway on/offramp with retaining walls check out 7th and Frontage Rd. off of 880 in Oakland CA. Also near the port of Oakland and large trucks often use it!
The small bay at the bridge is destined for a beach and some leisure facilites - and maybe there could be a transport hub (rail and trucks) for the agricultural goods or / and a farmers market
Most of the "weird and dangerous" interchanges in the US were done in the past (1950s, 1960s, and 1970s) when the interstate highway system was first built. Modern safety standards typically prevent dangerous interchanges today.

Im not sure if its the scale of the paths used or perhaps the lack of boats, maybe there are some dev mode assets that could be placed in there to fill them out a bit
Hey, always love watching your builds. Just one question, tho: won't that industrial building (36:35) contaminate the underground water deposit you're collecting from?
I would imagine in this area the expensive suburban neighborhoods would have private boat docks just for residents. Also individual 1-2 boat docks for houses
With a lot of more country roads up here they don’t follow the terrain and will go straight over hills and have weird bends and overall just feel like a rollercoaster
@Infrastructurist I have been a big fan of yours for many years to way back in the day when you did you Japanese city, so when I say this I mean it nieces way.
