Hi, Water engineer here. For your waterpumping station, we would never build it underneath or close to a high traffic road. One of the reason being the possibility of an accident on the road involving trucks carrying chemicals or hazardous materials that could pollute the ground water close to the pumping station that would be directly pumped and delivered in your drink water network.
Its unfortunate that in CS2 the capacity of the network is bottlenecked by the road size, so if he doesnt install it on a large main road then the plants become less efficient.
Oh, interesting! I did move it before the final cinematics but its probably still a little close to the highway infrastructure, so I'll have to see if it can be relocated further while still accessing the groundwater :-)
Make the hill a "national park" including a revolutionary war era fort - it would be very on-brand for the east coast and the harbor islands outside of Boston.
You could rename Wintor to Windsor Park, after the Britsh Royal family. This is probably an old British fort that was taken over during the War, and the Fort would be Windsor Fort.
The hill could be a huge urban park, a la Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. Most of Fairmount Park was the grounds for the 1876 Centennial Exposition and has some remnants including a museum and some fancy avenues.
You need to place a bus station near the train station, the small one with 4 bays will most likely do, then 2 lines to cover the main city and one line each to the other towns
So 2 ideas: 1. I recommend having the hill look something like Beacon Hill in Boston -- a lot of super old brownstones on narrow streets. It's also a super wealthy neighborhood, which would make sense because on the map it's super close to the city and has amazing ocean views. You can also add a park on the side facing the city similar to the botanical gardens in Boston -- it would provide a clear barrier between neighborhoods. 2. You should use the inner city elementary school. Although it is quite large, you can stitch a glass skyscraper or taller building on top. You see this a lot in Massachusetts where they will build skyscrapers on top of older brick buildings (plus it would look super cool!).
Not sure about everywhere in the world but most of the big expansion bridges here in the States have an entire utility corridor underneath the road section for transmitted all sorts of utilities such as water, cable, data and phone lines, and even electricity.
I work in electrical transmission and distribution, and you wouldn't step up street supply to transmission towers to supply a new city (although it's still cooler than just getting power from the street), you'd run new transmission lines at a very high voltage from a transmission substation to a zone substation, (or several transmission lines and substations) and supply the street from the zone substations to pole and kiosk substations, but that's so in depth, there's no storm water ways in this game either.
Suggestion for the row houses - Add some alleys between the houses, if you look as the South End and Back Bay in Boston, most of the rowhouse streets have alleys with parking between them. Also, for the peninsula by Winter, I think you should try to make an old super tight neighborhood like the North End or Beacon Hill in Boston, both have buildings that mostly date from the early 19th century and are popular tourist draws with main streets that have a ton of cool shops and restaurants and outdoor seating.
Coleridge is named for the Cole family - specifically, William Henry Cole. A wealthy business tycoon and philanthropist, he made his fortune with Cole’s Canning Co. one of Chowder Bay’s first and most successful companies. His descendants (specifically Emily Hawthorne-Cole) started the Cole Foundation and made major donations to the city allowing for major additions to the hospital and elementary school as well as the preservation of Sterling Lake.
The hill at the small peninsula you intentionally left out of any district so far - by citizens simply called "The Hill" - has a historic signalling post atop it that was used in the olden times to communicate from shore to the ships in the bay. It is being kept in operation by enthusiats of the local historic society and actually displays the message "Welcome, guest. Contact harbour master upon docking!" on special days (as this was the usual greeting in this harbour for any new ship back in the days). Around it is a big green space that overlooks both the bay and the city that is used as a picknick/BBQ location by day and as a bit of a love island at night. Sometimes there are even temp stages and other moveable equipment for special occasions. So if you ever visit [name pending], you should definitively visit The Hill. It is historic, scenic and recreatinal at the same time! Plus, there's always icecream...
Im in love with the 3 level diamond service interchange. So cool idea. Just scanning YT today for videos ive missed last couple of months. It looks amazing. I am surprised at how brazenly and free from restrictions you handle the elements of the game, how buildings are combined and new things are created. a small bay asks to become a boat marina, a parking lot for yachts
For power transmission the substation usually comes about when we are looking at industrial complexes, for neighbourhoods usually have a common substation shared by a few neighbourhoods. Where I live all wires and piping and sewer goes underground usually tied with roads and avenues.
pleeease try to include sound barriers - i think it’d be required in a city with houses that close to protect from noise pollution and cars driving off into peoples homes 😬
I think some heritage streetcars would be a really nice addition to the new city. That means building a tram and getting some old streetcar looking vehicles

Interested to see how you lay down the transition in the city eventually 😅 and for that hill, maybe back in a day it was a starting point of the city with a small fortress established by Brits back in 17th century. With years the water level was dropping and the city was growing, so eventually there was not enough space for everybody and they moved the expansion to Downtown, which by that time already had established train facility. Now the hill remains a historic heritage with an old fortress and old town vibes, narrow streets and all that comes with that. In the tourist guides They call this area “Fort Hill”.
instead of adding additional wind turbine you could have upgraded the existing turbins and it would have given more power than you ever needed and it would have been more cost effective
I think that for the hill you could do like in Montreal with the "Mont Royal", it is a historic hill with a beautiful view of the city. If you like the idea I advise you to go and see on Google map how the park is laid out 😁 Otherwise I love what you do, keep it up, you really do a good job! 🔥🔥

Is it possible to remove the overpass on the central station? It looks a little off because the trains terminate there anyway, so people could just walk to the other platforms at the end.
I think the hill should be an old fort, a lot of coastal cities have old military forts nearby, I’m from the Baltimore area so ours is McHenry. Another good example is Halifax in Canada.

Queens Cape the shape of that district reminds me of Greenwich Peninsula in London. That’s a cool masterplan - placemaking around culture, art and community. Something like that might be fun for the city.
I haven't finished the video yet - I'm at 38:00 roughly - but the triangle within the newly christened Coleridge neighborhood between Fawn Street and the ocean really screams an old decrepit industrial neighborhood that is in the process of gentrifying into an upscale hip expensive area close-in to downtown. I don't know why - I think it's just the location and the nice pretty triangle that makes a natural district boundary. I don't know what you end up doing with it but I think that would be fun.
Also if the posh area off to the side is going to be called Queen's Cape, I think it should be Queens Cape, without an apostrophe. I don't have factual evidence for this, but my personal experience in America has been that when there's reference in some name to monarchy, it tends to have lost its apostrophe and stopped really being seen as an actual reference to an actual monarchy - most famously Queens, of course, and Kings County (AKA Brooklyn).
Hey, I'm from the greater Boston area and I think you have a great opportunity to make this area more like Boston, I believe you reclaimed land in your video before this one. Boston is known for its construction on reclaimed land. over the centuries Boston has reclaimed large areas of land to make the layout as unique as it is today. You can still see some evidence of the old shores line on Cambridge St, New Cardon St. and Commercial St. First Street in South Boston runs along the original shoreline of Boston and the biggest area that was reclaimed was back bay which has a formal grid layout. In a future video maybe you can do the same. When is comes to street names some areas were named after the indigoes tribes that habituated the land prior to colonization. Keep up the great content. You placed the garbage collection right next to the water pump. Spicy water.

Hahahah, whoops. I think I end up moving it before the final cinematics though :D

I can't wait for this island to be full !!
This turned from my favourite series to my ABSOLUTE favourite, haha. I can't get enough of it.
The hill should be called Battery Park. It can be a revolutionary war memorial park with an old cannon embankment.
You should make a custom rescue station, as that area, specifically Massachusetts, has the First District Coast Guard (US Coast Guard Station Boston).
there's something so American about the parking garage attached to the hospital being larger / more prominent than the hospital itself lmao
Hahaha, true!
