I'm 5y younger than Rubio, so 13 when this game was played. As a spanish teen I didnt realize at the time what an exceptional generation we had. From a 40M people country we had a basketball team that dominated european basketball and went one to one with ond of the all time dream teams. We also had one of the most dominant and top 3 of all time football selection, stacked with elite players in all positions. At that time it was also golden era for Alonso. And the one that is for me the best spanish sportman ever, Don Rafael Nadal, that was winning grand slams back to back and arguably best tennis player of all time. Just amazing
One of the Greatest Basketball Games ever played. This Spain team was loaded with great NBA players 1-9. This was the greatest USA team ever assembled and the game was tight throughout the whole match.
From the passion, speed and closeness of the game, this is basketball at its finest.
This Spain Roster can easily become a Nba Champion if one team caters them all.
21:18 The best 3-pointer of the Olympics Basketball game since 1936 and forever.
@@gerargento pobre, go home‼️
What a team of beasts.. but SPAIN faced them with head up.. very proud of them. Rest in peace kobe B
One of my favorite Kobe games ever, alongside the 81 pt game and his final game. RIP Mamba, I still can't believe you're gone.
this Spanish team has to be the best international basketball team ever assembled
luvtotrade2009 you most not have heard of yugoslavia in the late 80s and 90s
@@markohrga7427 I have but this 2008 Spanish team is much more athletic and have much better shooters than any international team ever assembled in the past I believe.
29:06 That smile... I'm in tears QQ
The spain has a reason to play more.. they are facing a great team... they are the underdog and if you are underdog the emotion is on fire.. the effort is x10 more
Not even gonna lie, Rubio was putting the works on everyone, even the prime Hall Of Famers
+Respect
but hes a bricklayer
IcyDaze not even. Maybe that Fernandez guy though
The Gasol Bros dominated the game but Kobe and Dwade saved the day.
This Spain team is crazy stacked with talents. But Kobe is just a GOAT that Mamba mode in 4th quarter is just insane
I get that Spain had great players, but it’s comical to say any team was “stacked with talent” compared to USA
One of the greatest Olympics basketball games of all time.
Maybe the best. Followed by 2012
Crazy game!! Respect to Spain cus they ain’t no joke💯
RIP Kobe Bryant🙏🏽
RIP 😢 Kobe... great work team Red, white and blue thank you for the great memories Kobe. I got so much to say about Kobe but I'll stop here.
Ricky Rubio playing against a USA team full of legends when he was still 17 Yrs old, respect
The best match in olympic Basketball history.
Harbiden oyle :D
manu getting disrespected argentina vs serbia 2004 best by far
@@homesol6685 The Argentina Serbia game is more interesting, you don't know who is going to win. This game here is mostly USA having a comfortable lead the whole game. But Spain did great to stay within ok distance.
Spain 2 points down.. Timeout Usa. Then ... 2 basket s and two assist by Kobe. After... Spain came back to five. Ball to Kobe... 3 point + foul and all shut up! Kobe the man!
Without Kobe Spain could have won the gold
Dwayde was the MVP of this final. and he was more clutch than kobe
theo feel dwade played the hardest. Just like barkley was the best player of the 1992 dream team because he also played the hardest
theo feel ??????
@@grandersoncurtis3906 El Kobe? Lol might be right
2004 greece, 2004 argentina, 2008 france and 2008 spain were contenders in each olympics. USA were truly quarantined and really good NBA select players.
quarantined?
This is the most professional basketball on Earth. You cannot find higher level than this.
Wade was the undisputed MVP of that entire tournament, from the bench!
Nihle Igleca he looked like the best player in the world
Papaloukas a player from Europe in the Euroleage (the European championship of best teams) was for 2,3 years MVP and he was always coming from the bench. He was the MVP of CSKA Moscow that was coming from the bench.
He was the best player.
Kobe the closer
@@CustomizedUsernamewouldn't be in that position without Wade keeping them afloat, Kobe and Bron struggled in the first half and Wade carried with 24 points off the bench in the first half alone. If it wasn't for him USA would've been blown-out
That’s the kobe was. He might havin not a best game but at the end in clutch he never missed when it mostly needed
their is no way you can beat the big 3 wade, kobe and james!
The greatest basketball game i ever witnessed.
The commentary was made years after this game was played. How else would he know Rubio is on Utah when he’s 17 Years old.
The draft
@@aidandilo6598 He was Drafted by the Timberwolves
Great job Sherlock. Commentary of calling the plays before they occurred might have given someone with basic deductive reasoning abilities that same conclusion. LOL
That guy was phsycic
He talk about Deron Williams
Man, D Wade was a beast, best player so far, doing everything, some day i'll show this to my childs and they will know the real meanning for the word legend
That Rudy Fernandez dude randomly posterizing Howard got me jumping out of my couch
Came here after watching Netflix’s documentary of the 2008 Redeem Team.
R.I.P. Kobe 24+8+10🐍🖤

Ended up here after the sad news. One of KB immortal game on a high pace and high level competition. RIP sir
Wow D wade was sooooo good.
and he was off the bench :)
Wade vs Kobe was the vintage matchup in the NBA, people forget that
Facts, people have forgotten already smh..
Ting-Chieh Huang is
Still worse than Paul Pierce 😉
"Body's flying everywhere, no call...😤." at this point is when I realised how much heat Spain had brought into this game playing against a whole All Star team. My Best Spain National Bball team ever💥
Watching this the day after Kobe sudden passing☹️. Still can’t believe he’s gone.
D Wade in his prime was so good defensively. He was he unsung hero of this 2008 team.
"Unsung hero" lol. He was generally considered as the best performer of the team in this tournament.
@@mcoeif no, he wasn't. I was there. It was Kobe and Melo who were considered the best performers on that team.

21:26. “Kobe!” I may or may not have cried..... 😔
Hmm Lebron, Wade, and Bosh seem really friends here. I wonder if they’re up to something….
Adding Kobe to Team USA in 2008 after 2004 Athens is a GG the way adding Durant to 73-9 is. This game proves Mamba the GOAT. When in doubt, it became Mamba Time.
@Show Genius Don't even try to take off these lies and Kobe narratives from this fanboy, it's useless.
The greatest game in the history of USA Basketball. Kobe put the team on his back in the clutch. I rioted in the living room when he got the four point play. 21:17
Wade the MVP of the 08 olympics
The way Kobe congratulated the whole Spain team after the game, class sportsmanship
