Guys if you're seeing this do me a HUGE favour and like and comment on this video!! UA-cam has flagged it as 'inappropriate for advertising' and has basically killed the video! Let's keep it floating and keep spreading the message of Ren!
@@cas9065 I think it's a case of UA-cam trying demonetize anything that isn't suitable at my great grandma's dinner table so as to fill their own coffers. Remember that copyright claim protocol isn't the only loophole able to be abused for monetary gain.
Violet's tale happened in 2005 (two zero zero five). Jenny and Screech happened in 2019 14 years later when the songs were released. Jenny inherited her mother's silence and Screech inherited his father's violence which is why she was still and silent when Screech killed her. Also an interesting part is when Screech knocks on the door and Patrick isn't home then he calls his girlfriend who said she was busy, they were actually together behind his back. This is brilliant storytelling. It's a story of how history repeats in the lives of people. Ren truly is brilliant. He describes his genre as "Bardcore" which is perfect as he's a modern day minstrel or bard. Great breakdown as usual...
Thanks for clearing up the 2005. I hadn't caught that. I thought it was a postcode because he say's it right after London City. I even Googled it and obviously nothing came up!! Ofcoarse it's the year!! Thank you!!!
There was an indicator in Jenny’s tale when she felt that something was wrong that night. They say twins have a connection like that, so she felt Screech coming. 🤯
Took me a second to realize the clue at the end of Screech's Tale... "Our story it ends right at the start..." (paraphrasing) with Jenny and Screech laying next to each other just like when they were born.
theres also the line where he says "theres somthing far more sinister in mind for those who wait" in screeches song right before he calls his gf. hinting at that he killed his twin sister
@@iz723 I think they’re saying that the fact that they’re twins makes the entire story more sinister. When they mentioned the girlfriend, I think they were just trying to tell us where in the song the “sinister” line was.
Jenny and James are apparently typical twin names. Also consider her freezing statue like, and her silence their sets Screech off, just as Violet's silence was his father's trigger. There are tons of little connectors. Jenny's Tale and Screech's both finish with 'It's such a shame', and Screech's Tale is bookended with .The Story is starts right at the end and ends with 'The story it ends right at the start. Thank you so much for covering Jenny and Screech. I was so waiting for your reaction!

Thanks for completing the trilogy. It’s weird as I am an almost 65 year old man who grew up on rock/metal music so my taste leans more towards Ren/The Big Push doing covers of Sabbath’s War Pigs and Paranoid. Most of the elements in Hi Ren and this trilogy tale are things I’m not into (classical guitar, rap, talking, sounds) and yet, he weaves it all together to make it so compelling, captivating and mesmerizing. So much so, that it stays in your head. I would so much rather see him do one of his songs live on the Grammys than most of the performances that night
👍🏻I’m pushing 70 & enjoy all musical genres worldwide. Ren’s gifts are many. Few young reactors have the education or exposure to the arts to appreciate/grasp Ren’s genius. The similarities between the twins are not that obvious. There are some parallels in their stories that make it apparent when you listen to it again. Like them lying close to each other at the end of Screech's and Violet's tale respectively, as well as the "such a shame" line. But I like how Jenny and Screech resemble their parents. Jenny freezing up in front of Screech and Screech getting more violent because of that. Also how Screech talks to the woman on the phone. And the knocking from Screech and from Stevie respectively. The devil theme throughout the trilogy. There is so much to discover, even after dozens of listens. Everything is interwoven so well. I could fanboy the whole evening about Ren's songs.
It's taken many re-watches and listens to realise that Ren told us early on in Violet's tale that she was pregnant. "Violet was a quiet girl, and Violet, she fell fast". Fell fast, means she quickly fell pregnant (I'm not sure if this is just a British phrasing which is why I explained it). I also now think the tales begin and end at Christmastide. The guitar intro for Jenny's tale is reminiscent of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" which is played around with up to and including his trumpeting. Graffiti Christmas tree as he first sings "Jenny walked alone she was dragging her feet". And at the end of Violet's Tale as "a lady down in Paddington just lost the fight to stay alive" we stop at a shop which has "Seasonal Greetings" in the window. Because of the gap in recording these epic tales and Ren's attention to detail, I think it was planned, not coincidence.
@@GrahamDixonUK Nearly all right but I think "She fell fast" meant that she fell in love fast. It didn't take much as initially according to the song, Stevie was a charmer and Violet had probably never been charmed.
Ren's ability to play those arpeggios while walking on stairs is something that is underrated. Most of us would kill ourselves trying to do it... or is that just a me thing?

Would love to see your reaction to Money Game part 2 that song is a banger, would love to see your breakdown of his flow and lyrics. The message and wordplay are very clever and his flow scheme is fire. Depression is also a good one to check, has a mix of singing and rapping and you can feel his pain through the song
Another thing he does, is he gives the twins the personality and characteristics of their parents. Screech being like stevie, and jenny being like violet, he is a genius. His story telling is top notch and he delivers so well, all while doing it in rhyme schemes and acting out the characters and playing guitar with it, genius. He never deserved the life he got, his insecurities, illness, mental health, he didn't deserve that but it made him who he is, and he puts so much work into his songs and yet I'd so underrated and not as popular as he should be. ❤❤

Who didn't link them together? I haven't seen a reactor who didn't get it yet, but I haven't seen many of this trilogy's reactions yet, I'm doing that now.
At the beginning it talks about jenny being adopted, then talks about screech being in the system and aging out. Baby girls adopt easier than boys, boys left in fostercare is a common trope. With Violet shes out alone at 16 does not have anyone but the abusive partner/father of the twins. He goes to jail for murder, and the twins go into protective services... Then quiet jenny (like mom) and aggressive screech (like dad) meet by chance and die together in the same cycle of violence.... ❤❤❤I Love to hate this song every time i hear it. Experience working with teens in care as well as homeless so this hits
There are lots of great reactors out there, but you are way ahead of them on your insight, the subtly of things and your explaining the flows and kadences its always great Watching you react. I knew the twins would throw you off, but you were right there when he said it, you knew it. Everyone else missed it and had to go back.

He has some really cool rap tracks in different styles, and more of his so-called Retakes, where he raps over the backing track, created from an existing song. He produces his own stuff and most of it is freakingly awesome. Such a huge back catalog that piece by piece ask the question why he wasn't huge earlier.
What a great artist Ren is he keeps you thinking what happens next it's like turning the page of book has the story unfolds he puts you right in the middle of the drama and that's not easy to do and the twist at the end would be worthy of any film let alone a music video you didn't see it coming Could you react to Uprising by Muse it's a great song and lyrics to relevant to the world today
You talk about his live stuff and how it's different but he also makes beats and raps in the studio. Check out Money Game parts 1 & 2 and Genesis for songs with a message, The Hunger for technical flow, and What You Want for a tribute to 80s and 90s party hip hop.

It’s almost like a bromance and I just love it… two very talented artists showing their admiration and respect for each other. Imagine if the two of you joined forces and worked on something together!!!! ❤️
This was, as usual, a very enjoyable reaction and an excellent analysis. This trilogy is another example of Ren's genius and a master's class in storytelling. It has been likened to a Shakespearean tragedy. I would also recommend you check out Ren's collaborations with Chinchilla, "Chalk Outlines," "How to Be Me," and their busking sessions in Brighton. As for "Chalk Outlines," it is one of my favorite songs right now; it is beautiful, yet sad, and really showcases Ren's beautiful singing voice. Looking forward to more Ren reactions from you. God bless.
Highly recommend checking out his live performance of this tale in Brighton….brilliant! With the 360 lens you feel immersed in the experience, very cool
Yes those are seagulls. Ren lives in Brighton UK, which is a tourist town which is why so many buskers have success there. Most of his videos are filmed around the town, a block or two from the beachfront. His band did a great one-take live cover of a Manu Chao song on the rooftop of their apartment and another song in a public laundromat. The "hospital" location at the beginning of Violet's tale was actually a friend's kitchen that they dressed. All locations you can find on Google maps if you look around a bit. I don't think he gets permission for any of it, he's so used to busking, he just does it and hopes no one interrupts them before they get it done. The Ren rabbit hole runs deep and most people think it only goes back 5 or 6 years but you can find stuff as far back as when he was trying to make his boy band successful as a teenager.
Also something I noticed is that Jenny takes her mother's traits of being meek and silent, while screech's character takes after his father with his violence and anger.
Jenny took on violets freezing in the face of danger. Screech took on his father's violence. Two souls born together in tragedy and violence. Two souls died together in tragedy and violence. Astrologers would have a feild day with this one. The lad is a fecking genius.
Hi there from New Zealand. Ren is being followed here too. It would be rather special to see you react to Ren's 'Children of the moon ' if you had time. A lesser known one of his. Loving all your reactions to him and your descriptions of his phenomenal talent. 🙂
The connections between Jenny, Screech and Violet/abusive partner is that just like Violet Jenny is passive and silent and stood still in the face of abusive violence. Then in the same way Screech has the violent nature of the abusive partner that attacked Violet.
Honestly, of all Ren's content, this may be his best example of storytelling/Bard core. It's one shot all the way through, and he uses the environment for his sound effects. And he ACTS. And SAM is on the camera. Everything is intentional. Everything has a purpose. Give me anyone else who does this at this level, And then the story switches at the end. Come on. best of a generation.
Ren is the GOAT! Knox, I found your site following reactions to Ren. I am thoroughly impressed by your work and your comments and insight into the content of others. Well done mate.

Great reaction. You clearly recognise Ren's creativity, talent and brilliance. I have been watching Ren busking live for seven years and it’s wonderful to see everyone else finally coming onboard. If you haven’t already, please watch Chalk Outlines (live). It’s hauntingly beautiful.
I love how both in Screech's and Violet's Tale at the end Twins are both laying near eachother, at first because they're born and later because they're dead
Oh man! I can't believe you mentioned that 3-piece group on the riverwalk! I remember sitting at Waxy O'Connor's on the riverwalk and loving to hear them play. Can't suggest that place enough. It's very touristy, but also feels like home at the same time.
Knox - I very much enjoy your reactions and perceptiveness You pointed out the whole field of things to be noticed including the musical aspects, the camera work, the whole context, and the content, going from the details to the big picture and back again. Adding a comment to help give this vid more life (no need for more things to die like in the song...). Thank you for completing your reactions to the trilogy! Oh, and also, you introduced me to Ren - so thank you for that as well! Love it!

'Like a midevil bard for modern times,' that's exactly what I've been thinking. Ren is bring the past into the present, and so it is with this story, history repeats itself. Also noticed how the schemes and cadence of Screech sreaming at the officer and Stevie when Violet is staying silent are similar to the dark side of Ren in Hi Ren. Love your depth of knowledge, Knox, picking up on all of the historical and literary references. That's why you're such a treat to watch. And love Ren's prophetic bard-like skills. Such important messages! 🤍
Jenny inherited her quiet demeanor of her mother (and died for it just like her) and screech inherited his fathers (and grandfathers) agression and anger and caused a tragedy due to it
Jenny has her mother's traight of staying still and silent and Screech has his fathers straight of violence under the influence of drink and drugs. Unbelievable story telling.

GREAT breakdown! Ren really is something special

His song Genesis Live Acoustic is a really great song.
@@DeanWinchester-ow2ug I love the original Genesis one that starts in the fish and chip shop. And it is actually a full rap song.
What a great artist Ren is he keeps you thinking what happens next it's like turning the page of book has the story unfolds he puts you right in the middle of the drama and that's not easy to do and the twist at the end would be worthy of any film let alone a music video you didn't see it coming
Could you react to Uprising by Muse it's a great song and lyrics to relevant to the world today
Money game 1 and 2 are WELL worth a reaction
Many thanks Knox great reaction love and respect from the UK 👍👍👍👍👍👍🌟😀😀 amazing channel 👍
You talk about his live stuff and how it's different but he also makes beats and raps in the studio. Check out Money Game parts 1 & 2 and Genesis for songs with a message, The Hunger for technical flow, and What You Want for a tribute to 80s and 90s party hip hop.
Videos for Money Game pt1, Genesis and The Hunger are still one take single shot though :-)
I'm hearing the term "Bardcore" used to describe his style.
Love how much you see and hear, how you explain everything you are observing, sometimes opening new vistas for people, and certainly displaying the depth of your own mind and knowledge about songwriting and cinematography. All excellent work!
I was so excited when I saw today that you had reacted to Ren I dropped everything and watched those two videos. Now you've blessed me with another reaction?! Thanks Knox!
he is this generations Bard and we are so very lucky to have him and people like yourself, Cliff Beats, Black Pegasus, Anthony Ray and so many more wonderful reactors to bring Ren and each other into the light so others can find and enjoy also
Hey Knox, fan of your music but bigger Fan of your reaction videos, you are very intelligent & break shit down with expertise. I can also tell your reactions are real & you enjoy everything ❤️
Once again I am so impressed with your TOTAL breakdown of not only the lyrics, but the production and camera work and acting and other subtleties.
You're the reaction goat!
🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊Yeah.🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊My absolute favourite reactor.🎉🎊🎉🎉🎊Much love from South Africa 🇿🇦❤️🇿🇦
Hi Knox iiiiiiii was waiting for this. You never ever tell what the end gona be. 11 days apart.😁Love from Europe-Austria
I just love how it’s so obvious that you both have a lot of respect for each other. I love watching your reactions because you’re clearly genuinely moved and impressed by Ren’s work and he’s clearly genuinely impressed with your ability to pick up on things most miss.
God bless.
I would love to see you react to REN THE HUNGER. You’re awesome. 👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you so much for reacting to this. Awesome!!!
Also something I noticed is that Jenny takes her mother's traits of being meek and silent, while screech's character takes after his father with his violence and anger.
Awesome reaction! Loved watching it! Thanks so much!
The acoustics in Jenny's tale is just awesome.
When he hits the “hoooo hoooooo” in violets tale it gives me chills every time
Jenny took on violets freezing in the face of danger.
Love the reactions bro keep up the good work
Ren is the GOAT! Knox, I found your site following reactions to Ren. I am thoroughly impressed by your work and your comments and insight into the content of others. Well done mate.
Come on Knox! Been waiting for this 🔥
Yeah I keep checking the channel. Can't wait to see what he makes of it.
I’ve been binge watching reactions to this trilogy & yours have been the most observant, thoughtful, and deep. Thank you!
Hell yeah. I've been waiting for this
Ren is fantastic and so versatile - you really do him justice in your reactions! Please keep going down his catalog!
I really love how you can actually can react/breakdown genres beside rap even though you yourself are a rapper. This video just proves it. You have an outstanding talent when it comes to music.
A suggestion, u should react to still right here by tech n9ne. Thats one hell of a song
Thank you so much for your always unique and insightful breakdowns. Ren is incredible.
Love your reactions man...i always feel like i get something in return for my time. Check out Genesis from Ren ;)
1st. That guitar playing is fire!!!
❤️🔥✨🫶🏼
I love how both in Screech's and Violet's Tale at the end Twins are both laying near eachother, at first because they're born and later because they're dead
Ren is a master storyteller. He is soooo good.
Oh man! I can't believe you mentioned that 3-piece group on the riverwalk! I remember sitting at Waxy O'Connor's on the riverwalk and loving to hear them play. Can't suggest that place enough. It's very touristy, but also feels like home at the same time.
It's amazing how this dude uses acoustics of buildings.
Love it!
This kid is an artist to the core
He's like, 33 lol
@@Jar_Jar_Twinks HOW THE FUCK??
He is up there with the best imo! I have been more calm and focused since finding his music as he is able to cover topics better than a mental health counselor! Great analysis Knox, I look forward to more, take care!
I come back to your reaction every now and then. your attention to details is amazing
I know it has been said a few times before but Ren is a spitting image of Cillian Murphy especially in the role of Thomas Shelby. That aside he is an amazing storyteller. Your skills to breakdown songs is unmatched.
Been down a rabbit hole of watching his amazing creations and then watching multiple reactions to them and without a doubt yours are one of my favourites. Always look forward to hearing your take on his work, constantly leading me to see Ren's art even clearer. Thanks for the awesome content. Look forward to looking at more of your own content as well.
i was excited to see your reaction to the twist at the end and i wasn't disappointed 😁
My man you are nothing short of an artist!! Found you through knox's video of hi ren and was instantly hooked!! Keep up the great work man. Your way of doing musik is something really special and should be appreciated by even more people!!
Jenny inherited her quiet demeanor of her mother (and died for it just like her) and screech inherited his fathers (and grandfathers) agression and anger and caused a tragedy due to it
And The Grand/mother was quite and did not saying when Violet was abused.
In the UK it would be dark by 3.30 or 4pm in the winter.
Jenny has her mother's traight of staying still and silent and Screech has his fathers straight of violence under the influence of drink and drugs. Unbelievable story telling.
Great, great job reacting to, analysing and reviewing Ren's material. What an artist! Love your channel! Love your depth of knowledge and your eloquence! Thank you.
check out the hunger, and genesis, bar heavy tracks
Loved that reaction my G. As per usual!
Hello knox. Hope you are having a good one
Not bad. Hope you’re well!
@@KnoxHill have loved your content for a long time. I'm so happy you've started doing metal. Keep up the great work.
when ren starts the guitar tapping and vocalising at the beginning of Violet's Tale, it totally reminds me of Ennio Morricone's spaghetti western soundtracks for Sergio Leone's movies - particularly the Clint Eastwood trilogy 😎🤘
Respect & Peace ☘
Ren's song Dear God is very good and Losing it was a good rap.
Hi Knox, Thanks so much for your analysis and breakdown. Most reaction videos have not expertise or real insights. I've subscribed. We are Ren fans and watching and sharing.
BARDCORE!!!!!!!
All live and in 1 camera shot!!! Ren is a musical and lyrical genius!!! Just to note, Violet's Tale was written/released over 2 years after Jenny and Screech's Tales!!! 🏴
