It's got to start out like "Today we're going to be talking about two time medal of honor and purple heart recipient Brandon Herrera. The places and names of the circumstances have been changed to protect the nonexistent."
The Original Human is a former British Royal Marine who plays Nic’s military episodes a lot and considers Nic as the best storyteller mentioned on his podcast how he would love Nic to do a story on them.
The fact that many veterans and active military feel like Brandon has done so much for the veteran community to make him an honorary veteran speaks volumes to his character. Whether you like it or not Brandon, you are one of them bro.
We need to take a second and Salute the 2 time Medal of Honor winner Brandon Herrera. Man saved the whole company by jumping on a grenade. I mean a lot of guys wouldn't have done it. She weighed 230lbs and had 4 kids with 5 baby daddies.
This is absolutely going to get lost in the comments but i want to say it anyway. When I was 15 or so, my dad and I were having an argument. He said to me "maybe you need a man who isn't me to look up to and admire." I love my dad and I strive to be half the man he is but he was right. And 10 years later, I think I finally found them. Donut, Nic, Brandon, and Eli. And of course, guests like Rich. You guys are incredible. You motivated me to finally get off my ass and follow my dreams and passions. You are men I look up to and admire. Much love from a small Canadian town And all y'all behind the camera, thank you for what you do. This wouldn't be what it is without you. Love y'all
Brandon's discomfort is similar to how I felt when my dear old dad gave me his US Army expert marksman rifle medal. He was awarded it in 1969 prior to shipping out to Vietnam. As he presented it to me, he said, "You're a better shot than I ever was. You deserve it more than I do." Granted, I can consecutively hit a 9" plate at 450 yards with iron sights, but dude, it doesn't feel right. I feel your embarrassment, Brandon, I really do. Also, my dad is a way better shot than me at close range. He does trick shots where he has me toss a BB up at about 15 feet away, and from the hip, shoots it out of the air with his old 1950s Daisy Red Ryder BB gun. I don't know if he meant it when he gave me the medal, or if he's just being a goof like you guys are to Brandon. He said it deadpan, with a hint of pride in his voice, so I have no idea. My dad never got a purple heart, 'cause he was good at his job. During his 1 year tour, he earned the Bronze Star for courage on the battlefield, as well as the US Army Commendation Medal. He had more medals, but those two were the ones he said actually mattered to him. Like everyone got the Vietnam campaign ribbon - the military's participation trophy that everyone got. He did not like being in the military. He did not like being shot at every night until Nixon told them to blow up the enemy stockpiles in Cambodia. Still some skirmishes after that, but the first half of his tour he wasn't so sure he'd make it home alive and in one piece. He did not like having to take human life, and said he actually felt bad for most of the Vietnamese people, but that feeling fades fast when they point a rifle at you. He also didn't like the way command ran the war. They would lose a bunch of young American boys taking some piece of shit, non-strategic piece of jungle, declare it "secure," then pack up and leave. Next day, it was under enemy control again. All those boys lives ended for literally nothing, breaking the hearts of their families back home as they are unceremoniously mailed a coffin flag. That Hollywood stuff with the staff car rolling up? Yeah, fantasy for most families. Even my dad's Bronze Star was just a certificate mailed to him after he got back home. No physical medal, no ceremony, no "Thank you for your heroism, soldier, you did your country proud." Nope, nothing. So growing up, my dad just taught us the government doesn't value life, and they are not your friend. They will start a war with some country you've never heard of before, and tell you it's worth dying for. They will get naive kids killed before they're even old enough to buy a drink or handgun. They will tell you it's to "save Democracy," or some bullshit. He told us 3 boy to NEVER join the military. If you get hurt and managed to come back, they will not help you. They will toss you aside like a spent casing onto the growing pile of spent casings. They still have use for you, though; they will gladly tax you and try to get your kids to die for them, all while exempting their kids. My dad is almost 80-years-old, and still in good health. He doesn't care about his military service at all, and to him, his greatest achievement in life is raising 3 good, honorable men he can be proud of. He said if you ever fight, make sure it's for something worthwhile, like your family. Never fight for your government, because they will never fight for you.
On behalf of the Eastern side of the People's Republic of Washington, I, as the official Governor, would like to formally congratulate Brandon Herrera on receiving his Purple Heart. It is a great honor to witness such heroism, honor, and bravery. We have gone through times of great challenge, questioning, and sacrifice. This country and its people owe a debt of gratitude to war heroes, including the six-star general of World War I, World War II, Vietnam, Korea, and Afghanistan. May the people of the Eastern side of the People's Republic of Washington salute you. God bless the United States and God bless her people.🇺🇲🇺🇲

@olg.__ he said he saw combat. He never went to combat and left early to avoid it. He's also lied for years about his rank and didn't clarify he got demoted because he left early. Brandon's discomfort is similar to how I felt when my dear old dad gave me his US Army expert marksman rifle medal.
He was awarded it in 1969 prior to shipping out to Vietnam.
As he presented it to me, he said, "You're a better shot than I ever was. You deserve it more than I do."
Granted, I can consecutively hit a 9" plate at 450 yards with iron sights, but dude, it doesn't feel right.
AngryCops talking about veterans drinking kid grape juice with the "why garry why" book in the background...
I love that brandon got given the purple heart while wearing a fat electrician "its not a war crime the first time" T-shirt.
I am only 10 mins in and I'm dying....... As a fellow Vet I am 100% on board with this...
Just asked ChatGPT who King Trout is and it said Brandon Herrera! Amazing how he can be everywhere all at once! 🤣
"You're running out of printer ink" Made me spit coffee on my monitor.
So much love to Donut's mom, to counter act the unneeded hate comments. As a South Carolinian myself, bless all yall!!
0:25 Good to see Brandon is already out and getting friendly with the voters again in prep for his next attempt.
God bless the United States and God bless her people.🇺🇲🇺🇲
@ 52:23 . The instant refute to the hate from all the guys gave me chills & the geniune reaction to who that woman is melts my heart. You guys are amazing, im happy to see this type of comradery still exists
Hahahahaha as an actual vet i aprove of this. Its far more honorable than Bill Cosby being an actual documented honorary chief.
3 medals of honor, 5 Purple Hearts, 0 army service ribbons
As a firefighter listening to a cop explain how a firetruck works highlight of my night.
Babe wake up, new unsub episode just dropped
"sigh, well it's your annual daily ball flattening in 3 hours so it better be over by then!"
Im up
Shut up retard
How is she supposed to read that when she is knocked out?
Literally what i said when i saw it haha
HOLY FUCK THERE'S A PEANUT GALLERY CAM. THIS IS THE GREATEST IDEA EVER.
I wanted backgroung noise to sleep by, and I somehow thought this would work. Watching again. Thanx, fellas, and thank you Brandon, for discovering America first!
Forget the Purple Heart, I'm sending my National Defense Medal
From a heartbreaking story about a metal of honor found in a pawn shop to a heartbreaking presentation of a Purple Heart to Brandon
Yall are awesome and Brandon Herrera just proved why! He has never served in the US armed forces but accepted that purple heart with absolute grace why'll the rest of ya roasted him hard! Then he went out of his way to try and tell everybody he never served and everyone else on this episode is better then himself! Luv yall, keep it up and stay away from diddy
7:54 my dog and rabbit looked at me like I was insane while I was dying laughing and double saluting 🤣🤣🤣
Double salute HELLDIVERS THEME INTENSIFIES FOR BRANDON THE HONORARY PURPLE HEART 😂
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who stood and double saluted.
I double saluted the screen as well lol
I had a tooth extracted yesterday and the amount of pain I’m in from just smiling so much at this episode is worth it
I have to say having the camera into the "hang out area" so we can see King Trout respond is awesome. Great addition everyone!
Both Tim Walz and Brandon Herrera lie about their services. The difference is Brandon tries to down play it and Walz inflates his, lol.
😂😂😂😂 god damn u ain't lying though but take it easy on Brandon. Pick on tampon Tim all u want lol.
To true
Brandon does have a purple heart tim doesn't
@@olg.__and left his troops leaderless just so he wouldn’t go on a deployment. Brandon on the other hand showed his troops what a real leader is 🫡
@olg.__ he said he saw combat. He never went to combat and left early to avoid it. He's also lied for years about his rank and didn't clarify he got demoted because he left early. I don't care if he served for 50 years. Don't say you were in combat if you were just jerking off in Italy the whole time.
It’s about time we got a couch cam to see Trout’s shenanigans!
Thank you Brandon for getting shot in the ass for us. Forever loyal.
The "enemy marksmanship medallion" almost killed me on the highway.
we should make brandon look like one of those north korea generals, head to toes stacked with medals (btw Thank you for the service brandon)
Never thought I'd witness a forced valor lol
So a hockey thing Rich and Nic might like is the 97-98 (IIRC?) fight between the Detroit Red Wings and the Colorado Avalanche. It’s pretty famous over here in Michigan.
Names for it include “Brawl in Hockeytown” and “Fight Night at the Joe”.
If someone gives Brandon their Medal of Honor, I think we’d see Brandon actually cry
Next Veteran's Day episode, someone completed the paperwork for Brandon Herrera to have a veteran driver's license, and Purple Heart license plates.
Watching from the Caribbean and am very proud of the camaraderie between the gentlemen. Those who put those posts on Twitter should be ashamed of themselves.
The Russian badger
would be a great guest on the podcast along with popo medic and the mike Rowe
Count Dankula?
@@Demmon98 a super socialist on here with Nick would be hilarious.
@@joeycampbell940 How is Dank a Socialist?
Thanks for donating towards carolina hurricane funds my uncle and his family is up in asheville and it's rough for them right now, and those charities are helping. Thank you
Rich walked into the studio that day and just tossed a metaphorical grenade on the table and started laughing maniacally.
Half hour in and this is the BEST. I love that the guys are supplying PO Box info and encouraging people to make Brandon look like a North Korean general.
Or Soviet/Russian
Brandon Herrero with two purple hearts, he tried to hide one because the battle was so devastating that he never wanted anybody to know, but it finally came out on episode five of fat and angry😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
He down plays the seriousness of that battle, but we know he's dealing with it the best he can
Rich and the boys know exactly how to keep it real and bring their “friends” a bit of humility time to time. Whether warranted or not, it builds character and bonds.
Sitting in the dark in a flooding neighborhood and let me tell ya, this episode is a God send. Thank you for relieving some stress. ❤
Oh I haven't laughed as hard a long time Brandon being presented with the purple heart is gold 🥇😂😂😂
This is Merchandise gold... T-shirts, Mugs, Patches... Saluting and remembering this respected achievement... Great show gents.... Thank you... (Thank you for your service Brandon)
Brandon looks like he can't find a hole deep enough to crawl into to get away from that purple heart 😂
Non Consensual Valor......NOT SERVICE RELATED
I appreciate you always sharing your story, Eli. As someone from a Military Family who didnt get to serve I always see the strength in you. Much respect and love to you and the guys. Also. You should be able to contact ther Srvice and get the document for your Purple Heart. Might take a second, but you'll definitely get them. Thanks for everything you guys do.
Brandons going to look like a North Korean general both have never seen war but yet have a full rack from chest to floor!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
If I recall correctly apparently North Korean families inherit medals from like their parents and grandparents
I support this look
@@rextroop1941 that's insane, kind of like Brandon has received his from his family.......they're all the same. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I can see it now. Brandon, absolutely covered in purple hearts, being used in North Korean propaganda as the only American general to have close to as many medals as their glorious leader.😂
Need to get him one of those shirts with purple hearts plastered all over it XD
Do you know what makes this episode better for me? The fact that it's out the same day my family and I are doing a chili cook off to raise money for a local veterans home. You all are awesome, and I love to see the crazy shit y'all do. Love and peace, guys! ❤
that sounds wicked hope you have a fun time
@Symbolic-Sky that's the plan, we have this, Thanksgiving, and Christmas this year, and we'll have come full circle from last year.
I would LOVE for fat electrician to do a sport’s history video. That segment about the Sabres line brawl brought back great memories
Wow, after 181 episodes and watching both guys for years now, I just figured out Cody and Brandon are different people lol. Also, holy crap, the Purple Heart segment was freaking hilarious.
