- In this video I will show you how to do some easy maintenance on this 2012 Hyundai Santa Fe.I will sow you how to change the oil and the canister oil filter, the air filter and the cabin filter (this is what is recommended for 30,000 miles)
I'm a 47 year old woman and I've never attempted to do any work on cars. I watched this video (and a couple of others) and in five minutes flat I changed my air and cabin filters - LIKE A PRO! I also learned to replace my own windshield wipers. Yes, I'm proud! Just this afternoon I was going to be charged a hefty fee to have someone else do it for me and... I can't believe how easy it was! Ladies - do this yourself. If I can do it, you can too!
Great video Jim! Always informative, detail oriented, calm demeanor, and helpful! Keep doing what you do! Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge! Long time fan here.
Very thorough explanation yet simple and easy to understand. Thanks a lot. I learned many things.
Hey Jim, I was watching your video " A day from sun up to sun down" and couldn't help but notice that early morning ride over the VZ I lived in Rossville some years ago and made that same trip every morning also. That was always the hardest part of my day! I hear the construction is over with I thought it would never end!! Great video's though, Thanks.
+harborcbs Thank you for watching and your feedback. For me the drive to and from work is the most peaceful part of my day .Lol Happy new year Jim
Thank you for sharing your expertise. Now you make me want to buy all the tools you use.
I'm surprised you have so many videos and so few subscribers. I think you are doing a great job! Congrats and have a Happy New Year!

JOE FORD DIY Thanks, appreciate the comment!
The cabin filters get overlooked a lot don't they. My vehicles don't have the cabin filters but the local goofy-lube places keep trying to sell me one. :) Thanks for bringing us along Jim.
+wyattoneable Ya the cabin filter is one filter that is always overlooked. You know one job i did the computer said that there was a cabin filter but when I took it apart there was no filter in it.
Nicely done Jim and wishing you and your family the start of a great New Year!
+stuzman52 Happy New Year to you also Terry.
27 mm for the oil filter cartridge 25 nm (18 ftlbs) is the torque I am a tire & lube tech at a hyundai Dealer
There’s two more clamps in the back on the bottom of the air filter under the hood. No need to remove any wiring.
thank you for the video. helped me with the cabin filter. It is much appreciated
I'm happy to help.Thank you for watching.
GREAT how-to video Jim!! Sure is gonna help me out, and make my life easier. Thnx for sharing your skills and experience!!
Great video Jim and as an owner of a 2012 Santa Fe I'll be watching more of your videos here! One question I have - when changing the engine air filter why did you only release the front clips on the housing and not the two smaller ones at the rear? I thought it would have made the job a little easier unless I missed something.
Cheers and keep up the great work!
Nice tutorial! Why the gloves box light doesn't work anymore right after we did the process? I've checked the fuse and it was ok, nothing wrong with the fuse. Please advise, thanks.
Excellent DIY. You make the job look easy. Thank you. One favor if you can. My steering wheel is a little bit stiff (2011 Hyundai Santa Fe). Is it possible that you make a video on how to change a power steering oil. Thanks in advance.
Lahsen Fawzi As soon as I get one in the shop I will! Thanks for watching.
Good video Jim. It looks like someone had already used a adjustable wrench on that plug.
+N Smith Wow you have good eyes.It was slightly rounded off. Thanks for watching and your input.Jim
For the cabin air filter, you mention that arrows are wrong on the new filter !? What to trust ?
Awesome video!
Nice job Jim!
+gatorgotme Thank you for watching and your feedback.Jim

+Steve Rob Thank you Steve .I hope you had a great Christmas and I hope Santa was good to you.Lol
+jimthecarguy Ha Santa doesn't come to my house anymore, it's winter now full blast and I'm taking a break till Jan 1 getting caught up on the honeydew list LOL . Man your like a dynamo , don't know how you do it, just awesome !!!
+Steve Rob Well it was very nice down here on Christmas around 70 but like everything it all must end.40 today.I think you sent us the winter from up in your direction.Lol
Hello! I have mice in my cabin air intake, and they have attempted to make a home in my air filter. I have figured out how to access the air filter and found the space above it which is where the air intake is. My thought was to cover the intake with a mesh so that they could not get through. Problem being, I can't reach the opening without removing the plastic cowl in the engine compartment. Do you know how to remove that? Thanks!
nice job, learned a lot, but my problem is where do you check the auto trans fluid, I cant find the dipstick 2012 santa fe?
They don't have a dipstick. Have to go to the dealer unfortunately.
Thanks for video Sir.
Thank you for stopping by.
Jim, How do you keep your latex gloves from breaking all the time? LOLSeems like I'm going through a pair or Nitrile gloves every 10 minutes.
+ReclusiveMountainMan Oh I can't even imagine how much I spent on gloves over the years. It never fails you put on a new pair and touch something sharp and that's it there done.Lol
Like the old days when we had to replace the filter in the can.
+eddie martinez Oh no your showing your age.Lol
Yep getting long in the tooth.
