I don't think they will ever admit it, under any circumstances. So, the question then becomes: At what point does it become so obvious that it doesn't matter whether they admit they knew or not? That's why people like Grusch are crucial. If enough people like him speak up, then they can't control the story anymore.

Most of the UAP community doesn't mind which is used but I do understand that some people that have been a part of the community for many years may be set in their ways. I can understand that.
For others that may be reading this, I'll explain the difference:
The acronym UAP "Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena" replaced UFO “Unidentified Flying Object”. Using the phrase UAP is all encompassing and helps replace both UFO and USO (Unidentified Submerged Object) due to the fact that these trans medium crafts seem to move through water as easily as air and space.

Anomalous is also used to denote NHI phenomena of a wider range, not just vehicles. AAWSAP and AATIP's findings [still classified] include a wide range of very high strangeness events besides craft.

It's already out! Look around, listen to the whistleblowers, listen to the generals, the admirals. Look at the videos that the government itself and put out out. Watch the leaked videos. It's out already and confirm.
Look, the US government isn't going to have a celebration on the WH lawn announcing disclosure. They also won't have a press conference announcing it or a State Of The Union acknowledging it. Don't expect them ever to wrap it up in a nice package and present it to the American people. The truth is out, 40 whistleblowers with direct knowledge have come forth. They have shown Congress in SCIFs of names, dates, videos, documentation. Just watch the behavior of Congressional members as they walk out of the SCIFs. They are obviously shaken by what they've heard. Besides, no one in government is denying what Grusch has said in his testimony.
FYI, those triangular UFOs in the night vision footage are just regular aircraft but a triangular iris has made them look triangular.
Eisenhower warned us, way back in 1961.
Yet one thing he didn't see sprouting from the "Military Industrial Congressional Complex" was the dissolution of independent small media into corporate behemoths.
Nor could he envision the subservience of certain "national security" beat writers who depend ENTIRELY on their sources (government employees) to leak them information.
_These relationships are known to the national security complex. To think otherwise is to grossly underestimate the electronic surveillance system which has been built with our money at places like the NSA, NGA, NRO, etc. "Orwellian" doesn't quite encompass the scope._
So, the TL;DR, is if you want to continue to work as a reporter, if you want the invites, the info, and the occasional counterintelligence falsehood whispered in your ear, you better stick to the narrative they choose. Stick to the "company line".
