I made this recipe today and it was so delicious...i am a muslim so i did not use that optional sauce..and i searched online hoisin sauce + lemon + a bit plum can be added..it might taste different..but it turn out so good..there are halal hoisin sauce can be found here..i love this recipe 3000 thousand..my kids also love this too..thank you.. i already subscribed your channel too..
Same here. I grew a few tomato plants in containers on my deck, and I got dozens of tomatoes. I am a total novice, so getting such a great yield has encouraged me plan next year’s garden already. This is a perfect recipe for ripe tomatoes. Thanks Mandy and @Oef Fleur.

My Mother in law isCantonese and she makes a dish with tomatoes and scrambled eggs that is sweet. Before this, I didn’t know tomatoes were used in Chinese cooking at all. It is sweet and delicious, and I imagine has a similar flavour to this broth.

EDIT : and update : i ended up doing pork tenderloin to replace the beef, i used italian parsley and oregano for the spices, and thrown in chicken butter sauce, garlic and spinach at the last minute to make it a little iron rich because i'm anemic But for ever grateful for this video and recipe :D I'm literally obsessed !!!

we make something similar in my family with beef stock and tomato juice, we use onion, small amount of green bell pepper, celery, chili beans, onion, cumin, red pepper flakes, and beef pre-cooked separately. You can smell when it's cooking and we cook it all day. (And my grandmother knows when I've gotten the recipe wrong lol.)
It was nice to see this dish as Chinese favorite. In South Africa, Tomato beef stew is a local traditional dish served with others such as Bobotie on the buffet. I was always wondering why the Chinese tourist finish those trays quick. Now I get it! In South African Tomato beef stew, we use a few secret ingredients for that special taste! .... OK, not so secret... add some Worcester souse!

As soon as I saw this recipe I knew I had to make it! It was SO worth the extra prep time, it was amazing!! The flavors were different from anything I've made before, but work so well together! I bought everything for it including the chu hou paste, which really made a difference. I always love these recipes, but this is definitely a new favorite! My family's only request is that I double the recipe next time! 😃
