  • For every convert brother or sister we welcome to the faith realize that there are ten who are thinking of leaving the faith!
For every Muslim that comes to the Friday prayers there are three or four Muslims that simply do not care about Islam at all.
In today's challenging times many young Muslims have doubts & uncertainties about their religion and a phenomenon of skepticism and agnosticism seems to be poisoning the Muslim Ummah from inside!
In this talk at the special MSA (Muslim Students Association) session Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi begins the conversation on why is the Muslim world lagging behind and how we can motivate ourselves by thinking deeper!
This talk is dedicated to all our young brothers and sisters who are struggling.

The man has not informed you of the truth as you put it. he has merely given you the "truth" that he wants to give you. To find the truth, you have to get off your bum and do your own footwork or investigative research. Start with the claim that the Quran has no mistakes. If you find information that the Quran does have mistakes then you really have to question the so called truth. His goal is not to tell the truth but, rather, to stop people leaving Islam so he will tell them what he needs to tell them to achieve that goal. I would start with Surah 18.86 and the look at the following together Surah 35.11, Surah 24.25, Surah 6.2 Surah 2.117 (contradictions of one another) and there are others. Find the truth do not be told the truth..

lets not forget that having much wealth and having big military does not mean the civilisation is on the truth.
The Quran clearly proves from history that nations were self-deluded due to their misconception of having great amount of wealth.
There have been many nations that assumed they reached peak of civilisation but yet they could not save themselves from the consequences of rejecting their respective prophets.
Examples include the people of Nuh (AS), nations of aad, thamud, nimrod, sodom, pharoah and the followers of abu jahl.

i think evolution is a beautiful notion, a elaborate and near magical process which brought prokaryotic organisms to eukaryotes, and the myriad complexities of life on earth. this need not exclude Allah, only refine understanding of the nature of god. I am a great admirer of religion and philosophy and history and while i would consider myself agnostic I admire the impulse that makes us humans strive to surmount ourselves in capacity and wisdom. your refusal to abandon reason in the face of challenging questions to your faith and your appreciation of the scientific evidence is not a weakness, but a sign of strength. The prevailing attitude towards disbelief in the Islamic world, and questioning, and apostasy -- it comes across as insecurity, and weakness; bravery is striving in all things for truth. you could be the start of a new generation of learned, scholarly Muslim communities who do not react to silence and shutdown criticism but face it bravely. A faith that cannot withstand criticism regardless of how powerful it is, and how many people it punishes for questioning, it is the reflex of the weak to avoid truth. Salam.

I was shocked lol. you see other speakers like Hamza Tzortzis and Mohammed Hijab literally deducing how th e existence of a creator actually makes more sense than the alternative. Check Mohammed Hijab's video with an Agnost called "Agnost discussion with Muslim|| Mohammed Hijab" where he deduces this.

Hatem Elsharidy subhan Allah did he really say that? I just look at the fruits that i eat and it increases my faith in God. EVERYTHING around us is a sign. The fruit and how it is made, the teeth and the saliva and how they are made to eat the food. The digestive system and how nutritions are absorbed and filth becones feces. Wallahi these are simple signs that people overlook. How could this perfect system create itself? And now people are saying rationally explaining God is impossible? La ilaha illallah, the actual question to ask is "how can you rationally explain away God?". These athiest only use emotional arguments, never logical ones.

JazakAllah Khairan. I love that you put forward facts and are so open and clear when expressing them.
"Allah does not change the condition of a people..." comes to mind...we all need to be more aware of what Allah has warned us about in Qur'an. Sadly every fallen Middle Eastern nation has done exactly what Allah said not to do related to taking allies. Their fate and eventual fall was so predictable.
Good leaders don't get elected or don't last as a lot of Muslims are just name sake. No practice, study, research or try to correct, better themselves...they then become parents and the cycle of ignorance and decline in Islamic conduct and values continues with each generation. Its no wonder they doubt. Allah Guides whom He Wills... But do they ever wonder what they do to deserve Allah's Guidance? Does not take a degree to figure out constant disobedience and disregard of His Commands for worldly deceptions will ruin your intelligence and wisdom and then they expect success?
What has happened to our ummah? So many heedless.
Then again this too is predicted. Nothing happens without the Will of Allah.
    May He Protect our Emaan.
Each one of us must change for the better each day (piety) for ourselves, our generations and the ummah as a whole InshaAllah.
Mothers in particular should be educated and taught parenting skills, instilling the love of Islam, not just "rituals".
May Allah Have Mercy on us.

There may not have been nationalism as it is today but the Ottoman empire only came about through fighting an Arab one first, then putting down insurrections afterwards. The Ottoman empire was far behind in technology and human rights long before 1915. For me the most important verse of the Quran is about your situation not changing until you change what is in your hearts. If we teach equality and progress we will get it inshallah.

Im searching within and inshallah by his power i will be capabble to fight this oppression i am experiencing and succeed in this self before I can be of some use to this ummah. Allah knows all so ( sometimes you may think that something is bad for you but it is good for you, sometimes you may think that something is good for you but it is bad for you). I am confused about the iddah mentioned in Surah 65:4. Allah says: "Those in menopause among your women, for them the iddah, if you have doubt, is three months; and for those who have no courses". Ibn Kathir says: "Allah the Exalted clarifies the waiting period of the woman in menopause. And that is the one whose menstruation has stopped due to her older age. Her iddah is three months instead of the three monthly cycles for those who menstruate, which is based upon the Ayah in (Surah Al-Baqarah). [see 2:228] The same is the rule for the young, who have not reached the years of menstruation. Their iddah is three months like those in menopause.
However, in Surah 33:49 Allah says: "O you who have attained to faith! If you marry believing women and then divorce them ere you have touched them, you have no reason to expect, and to calculate, any waiting period on their part."
So my question is, if you have not had relations with them there is no waiting period, if they don't have a cycle (due to maturity according to Ibn Kathir) then you have to wait three months? Does this mean it is okay to have relations with prepubescent girls? Also what are you waiting for in this time if the girl doesn't get a cycle to begin with? Something doesn't add up for me and I am sure it is due to a misunderstanding on my part. I hope you can clarify this for me.

Mohammad Nawaz Let's analyze those claims.
      1. That's the Bible. The Quran refers to the Earth as an expanse, wide, spread out (not flat), huge. The surface of the earth i.e. earth's crust is less than 30 miles in thickness and is very thin as compared to the radius of the earth which is about 3750 miles. The deeper layers of the earth are very hot, fluid and hostile to any form of life. The earth's crust is a solidified shell on which we can live. The Qur'an rightly refers to it like a carpet spread out, so that we can travel along its roads and paths.
      2. Carpet can also be spread on other than an absolute flat surface
Not a single verse of the Qur'an says that the earth is flat. The Qur'an only compares the earth's crust with a carpet. Some people seem to think that carpet can only be put on an absolute flat surface. It is possible to spread a carpet on a large sphere such as the earth. It can easily be demonstrated by taking a huge model of the earth's globe covering it with a carpet.
Carpet is generally put on a surface, which is not very comfortable to walk on. The Qur'an describes the earth crust as a carpet, without which human beings would not be able to survive because of the hot, fluid and hostile environment beneath it. The Qur'an is thus not only logical; it is mentioning a scientific fact that was discovered by geologists centuries later.
      2. First of all, none of these narrations were uttered by the Prophet (peace be upon him) or found in the Qur'an and that means that they are not binding upon us.
Secondly, we know where these narrations came from. They came from the Israeiliyat as Ibn Kathir stated in Al Bidaaya wal Nihaayaa¸ Volume 1, page 15.
Thirdly, all of these narrations are either weak or fabricated. Please refer to the following sources and see what the scholars have said regarding the weakness and fabrication of these narrations:
Sheikh Albani, Silseelatil Al Ahaadeeth Al Da'eefa, Hadith no. 1253 & 6309
      Al Dhahabi, Siyar A`laam-in-Nubulaa', Volume 4, page 61 & Volume 10, page 669
Ibn Rajab, Rasaail Ibn Rajab, Volume 3, page 138
Ibn 'Idi, Tahzheeb Al Tahzheeb, Volume 9, page 506
Ibn Hajar, Lisaan Al Meezaan, Volume 7, Hadith no. 572
Ibn Al Qaysaraani, Zhakeeratul Hufaaz, Volume 2, Hadith no. 1024
Fourthly, notice the strange difference between the narrations, some say that the Nun is a whale while the others are saying the Nun is an ink well. How can we rely on such narrations?
      3. That is incorrect. The word used is Wajada, Dhul Qarnayn perceived it to set in the water.
      4. Your source?
      5. No it does not. It says that the moon has its own orbit and the sun has its own orbit. The sun does in fact have an orbit....Around the center of the Milky Way
      6. That Satanic Verses story is a fabrication.
      7. Source?
      8. That is incorrect. Islamic Concubinage required consent, which was revolutionary. We have Hadiths proving this. Not to mention the waiting period.
      9. The Quran only permits 2 reasons to fight:
      1. Defense of the people (2:190, 9:13, 22:39, etc)
      2. Defense of the oppressed (2:193, 4:75, etc).
As for those Non-Muslims who don't attack as, this verse shall explain.
"Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly."(Quran 60:8)
      10. Now that is incorrect. The Ka'bah was built by Abraham, and for this reason even pre-Islamic Christians used to come to the Ka'bah to make a pilgrimage.
      11. That poison was 3 years before his death. It didn't kill him.
      12. He didn't. The Riddah wars were initiated by the Apostates who attacked Muslims.
      13. we actually have an independent, and quite amazing, historical corroboration of the event from an Indian king of that time.
Kerala is a state of India. The state stretches for 360 miles (580 kilometers) along the Malabar Coast on the southwestern side of the Indian peninsula.[3] King Chakrawati Farmas of Malabar was a Chera king, Cheraman perumal of Kodungallure. He is recorded to have seen the moon split. The incident is documented in a manuscript kept at the India Office Library, London, reference number: Arabic, 2807, 152-173
      14. Because they did it in front of 4 random strangers.
      15. The Quran answers that. “And We appointed for Moses thirty nights and added to the period ten more, and he completed the term, appointed by his Lord, of forty nights. And Moses said to his brother Aaron, “Take my place among my people, act in the Right Way (by ordering the people to obey God and to worship Him Alone) and follow not the way of the mischief makers.” And when Moses came at the time and place appointed by Us, and his Lord spoke to him, he said, “O my Lord! Show me (yourself) that I may look upon You.” God said, “You cannot see Me, but look upon the mountain, if it stands still in its place then you shall see Me.” So when his Lord appeared to the mountain, He made it collapse into dust, and Moses fell down unconscious. Then when he recovered his senses he said, “Far removed are you from every imperfection, I turn to You in repentance and I am the first of the believers.” God said, “O Moses, I have chosen you above men by My Messages, and by My speaking to you. So hold that which I have given you and be among the grateful.” (Quran 7:142-144)
      There's also other answers.
      16. Whoever said that. The punishment for Apostasy was only there when the Apostate tried to bring down the government. In fact, the Quran commands contemplation. It says that those without reason are the worst of beings (8:22). Throughout the Quran, reason is commanded "Afala Ta'qiloon"

I am reminded of another Islamic presenter who espouses the position that Islam has been too weak to accept that the concept of success in Islam is fundamentally different than that which is presented by modern Western culture. Further, divisive Islamic leadership casts a pall over Intellectual accomplishments that are not associated with religious training. I take exception to all of the talk of Politics excusing the lack of i dividual performance in the Islamic community. We are the sum of our choice before God (swt) and that is not a function of all of the tzlk about past injuries and injustices. May God (swt) guide us to be the best individual we can be and eschew the political games that drag us down.

Colonization: the "contextualization" always starts when the tide turned. Any chance to discuss the colonization and conquests by the Umayyads and the Ottomans? Do the countries in the iberic peninsula need to contextualize the problems they face in 2015 by invoking their 700+ year muslim ruling?
Generosity: the more poor people live in your lands, the more generous you can be. That's the dream of every populist and demagogue ruler since the begining of times. And why is it that the countries in the Arabian Peninsula turn their faces to the refugees? Why do muslims from Africa, Asia and the Middle East run to secular countries like Norway, Sweden, Holland, Germany, Danemark, Canada and the UK for help in their darkest hour? Why not Indonesia or Pakistan?
Morality: do you mean the morally superior countries that forbid their women to watch men's volley ball matches or drive? The countries that kill the disbelievers and forbid homosexuality? The ones that admonish piety and modesty but are the ones that have the record on internet porn consumption or the ones that keep making the Main Kampf a bestseller?
Until you really face your problems you won't be able to solve them.

MrTadabat Western Imperialism was based on race, and is worse than all other imperialism. Comparing it to the great Islamic conquests in apples and oranges.
Anywhere the Muslims touched, we turned into Gold. We went to Egypt, and built the first Hospital there. We went to Persia, and built Bayt al Hikma. We went to Morocco, and our women built the first university. We Muslims naturally had the Golden touch.
On the other hand, look at western Imperialists. Ravaging everywhere they went, Dividing the people, causing wars and destruction in pursuit of money. All of the world's problems today are the direct results of Western Imperialism. The Western Imperialists turned anywhere they touched into filth.
Let's talk of a brief history of interaction between the Western horde and the Muslim Civilization.
7th Century - Those were instigated by the Byzantines when they tortured and murdered a Muslim Emissary. This led to the Battle of Mut'ah, where the Muslims went for the justice of the fallen brother. The Byzantines and their Ghassanids prepare a massive army in order to fight a small force of 3000 Muslims, and it's a draw.
Then, later, the Muslims hear of another army of Byzantines coming to attack Muslims, and now 30000 Muslims go to fight, and the Byzantines cower out.
In conclusion, Byzantines had actually started war with the Muslims by murdering a Muslim Emissary. We fought back, and won land in doing so. However, there were no forced conversions.
8th century - The Visigothic Spanish lived under the oppressive rule of a tyrant king Roderic, so they sent delegates across the sea to get Muslims to liberate them. The Muslim army, led by Tariq ibn Ziyad, gained support from the oppressed Jews and Christians of the land, and we Muslims won. This led to that Golden Era of tolerance in Al-Andalus, where Europeans used to leave the rest of Europe and settle in Muslim Spain for peace and prosperity.
Of course, one must also remember the Frank Raiders to the north. The battle of Tours was fought in revenge for the death of Samh ibn Malik.
Crusades - So Muslims and Byzantines were fighting, which of course was the fault of the Byzantines. But now the Muslims were divided into smaller Kingdoms, and the current force fighting the Byzantines were the enthusiastic Seljuks in Anatolia. The other Kingdoms were stupidly fighting each other. So the Eastern European Byzantines asked the Western Europeans for help. So the Western Europeans sent a horde of Barbaric Cannibalistic Savages called "Crusaders" who ravaged and massacred their way past the Byzantines and into the Muslim heartlands. The Kingdoms then tried to ally with the Crusaders to get at other Kingdoms, and the Crusaders used and betrayed all of them. The Crusaders massacred all, despite age, gender, or religion. They even ate the people. They bragged about their massacres.
Then, decades later, a hero named Salahuddin rose to power, and liberated the lands from the Crusaders, and unlike the Crusaders, showed mercy.
Inquisition - The Europeans then ravaged and massacred the Spanish Muslims, and forcefully converted those they didn't kill.
Imperialism - Europeans deceived their way Into the Muslim world, massacring their way through.
Immigration - after Imperialism damaged the rest of the world, people have no choice but to move to Western lands. Hopefully this will make Muslims influence the west enough for the west to stop attacking. And maybe now there will be a time for peace.

MrTadabat Your first paragraph, no, it did not, but those problems don't entirely haunt us today. The Ridda wars (fought because the Apostates actually attacked Muslims first) ended up heping unify the Ummah. And the assassinations of the Rashidun Khalifahs was quite unfortunate, and Umer's death was due to a Persian Zoroastrian and the rest were due to Kharijites, and Hussein was due to people betraying him, and all it really did was start up new sects, with whom the conflicts due to sectarian reasons are very recent. As for the Khawarij of the time, they are now extinct. Though modern day Kharijites are traced back to imperialism.
Your second paragraph: Yes. Western Imperialism was the reason those tensions rose, and those people got in power.
No, rejecting Printing Press was our own mistake that still haunts us, YQ has a lecture about it.

Yeah, lets go back that far...and farther. Historically, Jerusalem, Damascus and Constantinople (i.e., Istanbul) were cities of the Roman Empire. They only became "Muslim lands" by Arab conquest and colonization. Muslims have no special claim to these lands. Jews founded Jerusalem. Christians founded Constantinople. If anything, these cities should belong to them. Damascus is so ancient that nobody can claim it. Muslims have Mecca & Medina. Are Christians and Jews trying to claim these? No. That would be absurd. So think how absurd it sounds to hear Muslims claiming cities they did not establish. That is why the West is not sympathetic to Muslim complaints about what has happened in the last 100 years.

The Muslim Comb It is ridiculous to say "this brand of imperialism is better then that brand of imperialism". Every empire is coercive, comes with costs & benefits, and eventually fails. Rome wasn't conquered - it fell apart, and that created a weakness that the Arabs were able to exploit. The same is true of the Ottoman Empire. If it were not the "Sick man of Europe" the British & French would never have been able to take over.
The difference is that today, the concept of "empire" is no longer valid and Islam has no special claim to any part of the world beyond Arabia. Muslims may live in other parts of the Middle East and in Europe, Africa, India & Asia, but these are not MUSLIM lands. They belong to the people whose cultural memory dates back to a time when Islam did not exist, and are entitled to have their native lands and sacred cities restored to them.
The problem for Muslims is that there are really TWO Islams. The "Islam of Faith" and the "Islam of Empire". Because most Muslims do not realize this, many cling to absurd notions of Islamic supremacy and entitlement (Islam of Empire). This in turn fosters a sense of grievance when the rest of the world calls it out as the bullshit that it is.
Constantinople is a Christian city and the Hagia Sophia represents the heart of Eastern Catholicism. Jerusalem is a Jewish city and the Temple Mount represents the heart of Judaism. Muslims need to clear off those sacred places and show some respect for superior claims of the older faith traditions who established them.

They took the region and fortified their positions to ensure their survival against the aggressor.

Sure, sure...let us by that logic go further...who "owned" that land before the "Christians", perhaps they should have a say, no? The straw man argument your postulating has nothing to do with what the gentleman was speaking about in the vid. The point he makes is that British imperialism (if you consider British = Christian, that's a different discussion) resulted in the fragmentation of the Islamic civilization. Since that time, the European had a say over who governs those areas, how they develop, who they do business with, how they do business, etc. In return, certain "Rulers" were placed in control and some even given "royal" titles. So we (all in this world) today sit with the fallout of those times. Pretty much the same formula is used in Africa and S. America btw. We're also given a beautiful title for them - errrr...."Developing Countries" formally known as "The THIRD world". How nice of the Europeans to give those civilizations such wonderful titles. If any of these nations dares to dream big or think of improving (get too big for their boots!) they get squashed and set back a couple of decades. The masses are led to believe it was a humanitarian or economic intervention (read Oil here). So, My dear Middle easterners, Africans, South Americans, one has to go to the "First" World to get a quality PHD or a Nobel prize (A First World Recognition again) or some good quality living. Because you countries will remain in disarray 'cause that's always been the plan. Btw...Isn't that what's happening now -- mass migration to the "First World"?
There is so much more to understand and that is the gist of the video.....RESEARCH -- Figure it out, see where the breadcrumbs lead, connect the dots that spans decades. See how the masterminds work in this world. Any young mind that is born into this world in the last 20 years had better equip themselves lest they find themselves living in The Matrix!

And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
Behold, I have told you before.
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

I feel compelled to throw in my thoughts concerning the subject. First, the Muslim cultures are lagging behind Western cultures for a number of reasons, some having little to do with religion. One of the reasons is geographic that pertains to natural resources. The Middle East has oil, but it has scant little of anything else. One of the problems is of course Islam itself. Islamic tenets retards scientific exploration. Perhaps more importantly, it retards the value of women in the workforce. So Islam can be blamed for a significant amount of the problems. However, one can look at it from a different angle. Is material possessions the most important thing? The answer might be no, but if the answer is no, then complaining about being a second world nation becomes hypocritical.
There are a number of reasons to leave any religion and Islam is no exception. The tenets might go against the moral position of the believer. This could happen in a number of ways. For example, a family member might confess to being gay, and having a gay lifestyle. So, does the believer abide by the religion, or does he embrace the family member? Many ex-Christians became atheists by simply reading the Bible. The Bible is in places bizarre, and in other places outright cruel. For the critical thinker, the Quran can also hold problems of logic and reason. Another problem might come from how the Quran came into existence; a man allegedly speaking to God. No evidence, no supportive witnesses, just his word. This phenomenon of a one-on-one audience with God is something that has occurred thousands of times down through the history of mankind, resulting in manuscripts both long and short, and in many languages. Believing the Quran to be the true one is, at best, ignoring the overwhelming odds that it isn't.

Simplistic argument. Like most complex issues, there's rarely a simple answer. As for your comment that Islam retards scientific exploration... How do you explain Al Khawarizmi deriving a geometric proof to the quadratic equation? All of this in the pursuit of complying with the sharia rules on inheritance? There's plenty of reasons why the west has far exceeded the Muslim countries. Don't think your argument completely encapsulates those reasons.

    • @timjansen7694

Abdurrahman Shareef I cited a few of the biggest reasons why the West has exceeded Muslim countries. As for Al Khawarizmi, he was a scientist 1200 years ago. The impact of Islam on Muslims has changed radically over the centuries, at least in some part due to scientific advancement's ever encroaching path into Islamic doctrine. The common Muslim denouncement of the Theory of Evolution would be an example.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
    Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.
But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
    But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Yes there are discrepancies in the Bible. The Bible does not make the claim though that it is the unaltered word of God in everyway. It admits it was written by man, t admits that changes have occurred. The Quran doesn't. On that claim alone the Quran should be perfect. Unfortunately it is not . More and more as we uncover more about the Quran it appears to have been a book written by scribes in the 9th and 10th Century. Why? Possibly to reenforce the acceptance of the Sharia. I am not a 100% sure and my view may change as new evidence becomes available. Currently, the whole Mecca thing is looking fairly shaky. and if Mecca is looking shaky then so are Muhammad and the so called revelations.

Can keeping the Five Pillars of Islam get me to heaven?"
Because God is just, He will punish sin-regardless of how well you keep the Five Pillars of Islam.
As a Muslim, you long to reach paradise after you die. But as a sinner, how will you escape God’s judgment? You may think, “My faithfulness in keeping the Five Pillars may outweigh my sins. Hopefully, God will admit me to paradise.”
You strive to keep the Five Pillars of Islam. Five times a day you kneel toward Mecca. The creed (shahada) often forms on your lips. You bring no bread or water to your mouth during the daylight of Ramadan. You are saving up money for the pilgrimage to Mecca and are freely giving alms to the poor.
But still you question, “Is keeping the Five Pillars enough?”
Your conscience convicts you of failing God’s standard of holiness. How could the holy God accept to paradise someone stained with even a little sin?
Only one sin caused the first man’s downfall. Adam’s sin was not a “big sin” like adultery, murder, or blasphemy. By eating the forbidden fruit, Adam brought the curse of sin and death into the world.
Shall we escape? We who have dishonored our parents, lied to our neighbors, or cheated our customers (Exodus 20)? We sin routinely by putting selfish interests ahead of loving God (Matthew 22:36-40). We proudly overlook or excuse our sins. But God does not overlook or excuse any sin. He will judge every thought, word, and deed (Ecclesiastes 12:14; Matthew 12:36; Revelation 20:12-15).
God is a righteous Judge. Even on earth, a judge must punish sinners. A judge cannot pardon someone who has stolen just because the criminal claims to visit the mosque every Friday and fast during Ramadan. If sin goes unpunished, the law would be disregarded, and God would be dishonored.
God is the just Judge and will not let sin go unpunished, regardless of how well you keep God’s laws or how many good deeds you do. Keeping the Five Pillars of Islam cannot get you to heaven. You are a sinner according to God’s Word (Romans 3:23; 1 John 1:8).
The punishment for our sin is death-eternal death in hell. Our rightful home is hell. We need God’s mercy. But how can God be both merciful and just?
The Bible explains how God’s mercy fits with His justice: “For by works of the law no human being will be justified in [God’s] sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God has been manifested apart from the law, although the Law and the Prophets bear witness to it-the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe” (Romans 3:20-22a).
Keeping the law cannot get us to heaven. Instead, the law reveals our sin. God’s justice requires eternal death in hell for sin, but His mercy provides eternal life in heaven through faith in Jesus. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
As the eternal Son of God, Jesus is one with God the Father. God sent His Son to earth to become man, but Jesus never ceased being God. Born by the power of the Holy Spirit to the virgin Mary, Jesus didn’t inherit Adam’s sin nature. Jesus is called the second Adam (1 Corinthians 15:22). While Adam’s one disobedience brought the curse of sin on the world, Jesus’ perfect life brings the hope of paradise to those who trust in Him.
Jesus took the punishment for sin-death-by dying on the cross on behalf of believing sinners. Then, Jesus rose from the dead, showing He conquered sin and death.
Don’t try to take care of sin on your own. Even keeping the Five Pillars of Islam, you will still fall short of God’s perfection. Turn from sin in repentance and turn to Jesus in faith (Luke 24:46-47; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:21-31; Galatians 3:6-14). God forgives believing sinners and gives them eternal life in heaven.
God may be working in your heart, showing you your sin and need for Jesus. Receive God’s gift of eternal life! Trust Jesus as your crucified Savior and follow Him as your resurrected Lord!

This gentleman is a deceitful wag. He could not even say Jews. He was not prepared to acknowledge that Islam has 12 Nobel Prizes ( the majority of which are for peace - even one to that liar and rogue Yasser Arafat) out of 1.6 billion people and the Jews have over 200 out of approx. 15 million people. Now why is that? I could surmise but let us see if the Doktor acknowledges the truth. So western regimes "seem to be flourishing on the outside". Now that is a back handed swipe if ever I have heard one. He is probably not aware at this time about Muslim grooming gangs in the UK at this time so let us see what he says about western morals. He wants to talk about history and 1915 and where the caliphate was. I would have thought any historian looking at the end of the caliphate would know it was stopped in 1683 which is a long way back from 1915. He is saying it was the Arabs joining the Brits and this brought an end to the caliphate. WW1 was not the end of the caliphate. so why keep saying it was and who cares. What is your point???? Yes the british were probably lying but wasn't deceit the stepping stone of Islam. Didn't Allah say it was okay to be deceitful if it was to help Islam. Didn't Yasser Arafat perform Hudna when he agreed to a peace with Israel and was awarded the Nobel Prize? So don't admonish the British when you are committed to doing the same thing. What did Muslims do to the folk in Africa? Slaves and they still do it today. You just have to look at what is happening in places like Dubai to Asian people promised jobs. Not only deceitful but racist as well. Why did Allah say Shatin was a black man. Why was Muhammad so "white"? I am sure the British did all that you claim Doktor but what about all the murder and mayhem that the Arabs did in Africa. I am sure you will not be talking about that. No that is what I mean about deceit. In this case, I would actually say that you are attempting to incite hatred towards the west as a means to stop the exodus from Islam you claim is happening. If you are correct, I can tell you it has nothing to do with hatred or history, it has more to do with the availability of more information on platforms like You Tube which gives them a better idea of how ridiculous the claims of Islam are in this day and age. That is enough for now.

Did Yasir Qadhi say that terrorism doesn't emanate from the Quran? What about Surah in the Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out", or Quran (3:151) - "Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority". This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity" or Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them" No reasonable person would interpret this to mean a spiritual struggle just to mention but a few.

This is like neglecting to say that the British attacked Italy in 1940 because they were allied with the Nazi's. The Ottoman were clearly on the wrong side of history on this one. You have interesting points. But, why not discuss how certain Salafi hardliner agendas are pushing for the violent clash of civilizations and for the Takfir of Muslims to justify their murder? Why not discuss how much of the money funded into this scholarship has come from Saudi Arabia before its recent semi-Liberalism? Why not discuss how the etiquettes of war were ignored when the Ottomans slaughtered innocent Armenian Christians? Discuss how the etiquettes of war have been gravely twisted by certain sections of the Ummah over time. Yes, we have the pride in saying that much of the Muslim world were converted via missionary work, or even simply via trade as in the case of Indonesia. However, that doesn't change the fact that when the conquest of certain lands occurred throughout history, there were many times where the etiquettes of war were twisted to preserve pride and honor. Speak about how the Muslims fleeing Spain's Reconquista would commit suicide and ignore its impermissibility. This is undoubtedly the roots of the evil suicide bombings throughout the world. The Ummah had went from having angels assisting them where outnumbered in battles to committing suicide.
We're not in the Age of Empires anymore. It's not a world where it's conquer or be conquered. We are in an age where the clash of civilizations is not in fighting, but in economic power and technological achievement. GDP isn't even an ideal indicator of societal prowess - as the population's average life expectancy, education, health care, and even simply happiness are all more important than the sum of goods and services. Continuing to partake in strife and sectarian violence will only cause the largest military-industrial complexes to continue profiting.
