The reason why there is a shortage is cuz they pay EMTs pennies an hour

In Buffalo, people called 911during the Xmas eve blizzard and were told "there are no services available." This went on for 3 days, in a city of 275,000. One woman, whos partner had a fatal heart attack, had to spend two days with the body.

If you can afford the ambulance copay, do it. Ambulances cut the walk in ER wait.

good point. Waiting for an ER bed even with an ambulance can take ages

How many people are calling for an ambulance for a minor cut?????? Come on, most people can't afford an ambulance copay. The issue is covid is out of control again and the medical resource are very limited.

I just worked the ER for my clinical rotation, trust me it was a joke, one night we had someone who overdose on Tylenol accidentally who’s husband drove her in (obv could not afford the copay) while we had ambulance calls for
      1. Diarrhea
      2. Cold feet
      3. Acid reflux

@@KSMaxiefan01 Look I have over 15 year in emergency response. Yes there are those that do that. The shortage isn't because of them. It is because covid is getting out of control. Otherwise this message would have been out years ago, not during another covid peak. Some people's kids.
