Restoring a Broken Box From 1937

I am restoring a old red cedar box that was smashed in a break in. The box belongs to a 90 year old women named Ina. She received the box as a souvenir from Niagara falls in 1937. The box was given to her by her father when she was 11 or 12 years old. I have returned the box to Ina and she was very happy to get a piece of her child hood back!

I have a box from Pakistan 🇵🇰 with inlaid detail and made of sheesham wood from the early 90’s ... with a brass lock ... it’s not an antique but the skills and artistry gone into it is second to none , I would be heartbroken if I ever lost it , that poor lady I hope she’s ok 👌

I thought about that but the box was finger jointed and I wanted to keep as much original wood as possible! and Thanks!

Where are you located? I have a box similar to that with a missing locking apparatus. I'd love to have it fixed. The box is over 85 years old.

Cool. I had wondered if it would be the case on account that "the box belongED" to her... Thought the past tense meant she gave it up, or something.
