I had one of these for the 200-500. I loved it, kept the lens safe and secure when trucking around the countryside. Better than the warranty the shop wanted to sell me.for 3 times as much. My lens was pristine condition when trading it in for the 180-600 which is an amazing lens for the Z8.

I suppose if one is concerned about maintaining the aesthetic value of the lens, it's worth the inconvenience of cover movement.

Hey Jrod, i bought the Lenscoat brand for my 180-600. It doesn't have the cutouts for the memory buttons like this one has.
Are you still using the cover? I find it a bit awkward and bulky. And constantly realigning the pieces.
But the lens sure is awesome! Greg

I do see a little bit of movement on the cover but it is still worth it when in the field It’s good to know a little bump or scratch won’t get to the lens.

The downsize of this lens is its old style STM motor. The older Sony 200-600 has the XD linear motor, faster and more accurate.
