This was fun and interesting to watch! In the late 1960s I had to make a small design change to the nose wheel steering on the Vought A-7 Corsair II, to force the wheel back to centerline when airborne. That was to make the nose gear trail in the wind until touchdown.

I've always wanted to build a half scale A-26A (B-26K) Counter Invader (the vietnam version) In half scale it would be about the size of a Beach Barron... LOL! In that scale the body is about the same width as C152, would be four seater 2 in cockpit and 2 in back gunners compartment. Bombay would be for luggage, and would be powered by 2 Lycoming O-360 engines and be fully IFR equipped. I know I'm dreaming but hey...you started off your Corsair with a dream! And I cannot wait to see you fly it!

I really like your videos and appreciate your talent. Thank you for sharing your work with us. I would love to come and see it first hand. I’m based at KCAK and flew up to your airport one day just for fun. Then I realized where I had been.😂
I also see the gear door slop. I’m a little concerned about it at airspeed.
    Have fun, be safe.

It looks like you are willing to be patient and wait until you are completely satisfied with the operation of the tail wheel before moving on to the next item. As a former Technical Counselor and Flight Adviser for our EAA chapter I applaud your approach to problem solving. The first flight is fraught enough with all the unexpected distractions. Best wishes, Sir!

As mentioned in another comment, i also notices youe left gear door looks to be flopping around a bit at taci speeds, Ixm sure you sre now aware of it and got plans to correct it. It wouldn't be good at take off speeds to have it bend from the air pushing it.

Not really. I bought an aircraft (MiniMax 1500R) a guy had been working on for over 10 years. It was 90-95% complete. He became afraid to do more than taxi it after his flight instructor was killed in an accident. He sold it to me cheap. I did first flight on it, which was also my first solo, and put hundreds of hours on her over a 6 year period.

Read FAA rules on experimental plane [ Advisory Circular (AC) 90-89C ].
They have to log so many hour before it can take off. Testing the planes equipment. I'm not sure of the exact hours, but I think it was 20hours before the tail can come off the ground and then some more hrs of limited take off speed with online bounce the wheels [not purposely taking off]. Then he gets his last inspection to fly. EAA also has all the info , if you are interested. Dons done a good job of covering every aspect from wing load to landing gear max load before folding. He even did a lot of testing on the engine mounts. I'm just wondering how many hours is the car engine going to handle continuous rpm, when he take it to Oshkosh next year. I think that is his plan ??

These planes have been around since the 70's. There has never been any spar failures that I know of. But there can always be a first. The spar on the Corsair's has been calculated on a computer from McDonald Douglas from and guy who built the first one from the plans. He said it could handle 12 G's. They are rated for 6 G's. They always rate them at half of the failure point.

    G'day,
    Yay Team !
The Tailwheel Steering seems to be working as you hoped it would do ; well done !
Um, most of the time it sounds very quiet... - almost Lawnmowerish, when taxying under a bit of power ; and it's almost silent when idling...
But, apparently when you throttle back from Taxi-powee to Ground Idle..., it goes through a phase where it sounds like a Tin-Can containing a handful of loose Nuts and Bolts, tied to the Tail of a galloping Horse - and every Hoof is kicking the Tin in it's turn, beating a Sheetmetal Tattoo - kind of thing...(!).
Is that a Vibration thing - hammering the Exhaust System against something solid at a particular RPM-band...; or is that the Reduction Gearbox
    Protesting at the
    Airscrew trying to
    Overspeed the
    Output-Shaft...?
    Or is it some other
    Cause & Effect
    Going on...?
It sounds as if it might be
    Potentially
    Destructive of
    Whatever is
    Making those
    Rattley
    Noises...?
    Or they may be harmless.
    The conundrum has me mystified....
    Such is life,

Prop slap, backlash in the gears. Same sound all Rotax engine have. There is a damper clutch like disc in the gear box to handle those vibrations.

      Cool, thanks.
I had a fair bit to do with 2-Cylinder Rotaxes, aerotowing Rogallos ; and they could be a bit noisy - but we had 2-blade Wooden Propellers ; maybe the 3rd Blade multiplies the Noise (?).
As long as any Sound is "Normal" then that's OK - it's when a normal noise goes silent, or some new Squeak, Clatter, Grinding or Tone appears that something is going awry...(!).

I would not call this a "War Corsair" bc if Americans had this toy plane in WW2, we'd be all speaking German now...
