I am trying to use perspex with 3 mm thickness for the box but not getting any results. Thi.s the thickness of sheet important? Should the aluminium foul torch the perspex?
very cool indeed, there has to be a kids toy invention in there somewhere. What sort of charges would be created by a rocket exhaust, and how could they be harnessed to change direction of the exhaust plume?
Sir is that charged polymer electrons are transfering through an aluminum foil to the hands for change balance in polymer (plastic sheet) Sir please reply sir please
Very cool! What kind of foam balls are these? One common type of foam looks like it's made out of tiny pellets compressed together and has a firm, springy texture. Another kind is more coarse and crunches if you squeeze it.
I have a mixture of both that you described, both work the soft crunchy ones are lighter, and might move a bit easier but will also dent easier if and when you drop them
I was wondering why no one was commenting. UA-cam is requiring all contributors to classify their videos for age appropriate content starting the January due to government regulations. In doing so their programming sets a default setting that removed all comments and subscriber notifications until I reset the setting for my channel. Nice to have you back.
Ooops sorry about the spelling. Also What should the maximum humidity be? I ried and got some movement on small styrofoam balls 2 mm but nothing larger
Fascinating as always.
great video. Love it.
Interesting how the tiny foam showed the charged areas.

Very good video. I think I'm going to make a similar set up for my students. Thanks.
this works best when the humidity is low, don't try it on rainy days
Did you line the wooden box with something? Is it some kind of conductive lining?
Hey can we use acrylic sheet
yes, that will work
always scientifically entertaining!

Muchas gracias.
What type of charging methods occur in this experiment? Was it both friction and induction?
Is this łhow a touch screen works?

Could you mix the different size spheres and see which are affected the most? Thank you.

these would be the former, which is Styrofoam

But what is the purpose of the graphite / aluminium?
Yay, we have an Alustyrene capacitor!
Well the comments are back, did any of you experience the missing?

I wonder what might happen if you added copper-tape to the inside-rim of the masking-tape and then grounded this copper-tape.. :)
What is the name of sheet
acrylic plastic
I did not quite understand. Are these foam balls or foil balls?
they are foam balls that have a single wrap of aluminum foil on them
