Let me tell you my friend, as someone who's listened to this song hundreds of times and it being one of my favorite JW songs, from my favorite JW album...you've nailed it. Ok, a little off here and there but that was tremendous. Congrats!!!
wow, the triple album so to speak, is the best there is, and dam thank you, for this.. and the fact that you can draw Bambi from the forest just goes to prove you are making magic
whoever was the 1 thumbs down is either a star trek clingon or romulan from a methane gas planet jimi warned us about. i am UP # 195 ...... this is an absolutely treasured gemstone.... marvelous, fabulous,, thank you so so so much !!!! huge accomplishment here, A+++++++++
Absolutely bloody fabulous job tokabilitor, good enough to wake Johnny from his slumber :) I would hate to think of how many hours you put into this but it was time well spent I can assure you
I absolutely must say that this is, by far, the BEST way to make a tutorial video. Playing it all up front and then again at half speed. None of the unnecessary 5th fret, 3rd string, pull off, hammer on, bend, etc. If you're attempting THIS solo, then you already know these things... or you'll soon discover them ! That rock n' roll deer will vouch for me (LOL)
the slow-mo part wen your friend comes over to say hello, what a sight, keeping it going, so cool...now 2023 and still appreciate your playing 🎵r0ck0n 🎵
I was listening to Johnny Winter when I was 15 and I had the album Second Winter. A few weeks ago, while browsing on UA-cam, I stumbled upon the whole album. And since Memory Pain was my favorite song, I started to listened to it almost every day. Since I play guitar, I wanted to learn that song. Then today, I saw your post. If I close my eyes, I could be fooled by your playing and sound. Now, thanks to you, I can learn to play that song too. BTW, I saw Johnny Winter in Montreal in the 70's.
Good god doesn’t this take me back! I saw Winter do this in 1970 and It was like I was back there, then! Well, I especially like the slowed down version, much easier to follow and the deer, to much. Thanks I will definitely put this video to use. I’m not sure would be another one I would like too see done. Thanks, you’ve kept it alive and well!
Great work! I'm still totally BITTER about the way Johnny Winter was overlooked at death and underappreciated throughout his life. My wife and I drove down to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, USA, to see him at the House of Blues. We didn't think he'd last much longer at that time cuz he came out and sat the entire show and was SO SO thin... that was about 20 years AGO! God Bless You, Johnny Winter!
INCREDIBLE!!! This song has boggled my mind for years. It's Johnny Winter at his creative best!!! You not only nail it but you've duplicated his unique tone!
This is absolutely amazing ! You have an incredible ear, and to put this together so seamlessly is a feat in itself. Even if I never get this far, it is totally inspiring to see this piece performed with virtuosity....and then slowed-down to demonstrate ! Unbelievable ! HUGE appreciation !
I've been blessed enough to gig with and share conversations with Johnny Winter, and I know he would be honored to hear your attention to detail in your delivery in so many facets. Glad I stumbled onto your YT. Talk about a re-kindling, for sure
Simply Amazing note-for-note I always just love that song one of my favorites Johnny would be proud it seems like such a simple song to play but when you watch somebody play you can see how difficult it really is and the chords and the notes in the scales he did an amazing job this is a very hard song to play and he did it beautifully
Absolutely spectacular. I'm a big fan of yours. Please don't stop doing videos. I could watch you play just about anything and be impressed. One of my faves on YT. Love your Mick Taylor vids too!
Toke that was great. I always loved that tune and even now its still sounds so progressive and a little "out" Johnny really brought the blues to another level on "Memory Pain"
As a bassist, I prefer playing the very low notes. Rather incredible to see you handle this. Stil got the 1,5 record, as I bought it in 1969 at the age of 15...
I sincerely hope you jump back on UA-cam and put out some more of your creamy awesome blues alchemy goodness, and maybe drop a hint at how tf you can remember all that! Wow, really nice of you to post this.
Are you sure you ain't JW? Thanks you rocked it my friend awesome job well done I've been playing around for ten plus years best guitar lesson I ever had. Took me a couple days I'm getting there I'll have it in a week or so. Ive got the basic riff down just the little things a lot of movement all over the neck relatively quick. I love it Thank you best lesson ever.
Sure, one of the best of Johnny Winter. You play it so well and it's a pleasure to see your fingers going just in time at the right place ! I would like to play this just like you but it would take a century... I'm sure that you spent many hours on it, it's a really perfect play, what else to say... Your back ground is so lovely, a sweet little deer and when I see her ( for sure, she is a girl) licking your hand and you keep a so quiet playing, it touch me right in the mind and the heart... May God be with you. Thank you so much. Excuse my poor english expression, I'm french... Cheers from north of France( Béthune) Philippe
Most excellent I can't nitpick nothing about you're playing Edgar winter should hire you to play on Johnny's tribute album. You deserve it! Thank you very much whoever you are. Incredible You Are.
I don’t know what cooler, your playing or the fact that yearling is laying there next to you digging on it. Kraazee good video. Would love to have that backing track.
Awesome playing and great lesson thank you. I love the way Bambi magically disappears during the slowed down version when the main solo begins in ernest (8:11)!
Bambi really loves you. The little thing is cute as a button I realize it is hard to make a video when a baby is licking you bravo love it . my favorite guitar learning of all time thanks a million.
This is absolutely FANTASTIC! Thanks. I burned that record up when I was a kid, wore out a couple of the albums, them bought it on CD later in life. I basically learned to play guitar off of that album. I didn't learn the songs per se, but the playing greatly influenced my playing. Now, in my late 60's, I'm going back and studying this stuff, and what you have done is just a blessing. Quick question; could you share the backing track? Would be happy to pay. Please let me know. Thanks
Gee I miss this guys JW uploads. So pleased the oldies are still here to revisit every so often.
Have watches a few times Playing is awesome Then I noticed The baby deer fawn how cool is that .
I love how your pet fawn is just chilling in the background on its blanket
Let me tell you my friend, as someone who's listened to this song hundreds of times and it being one of my favorite JW songs, from my favorite JW album...you've nailed it. Ok, a little off here and there but that was tremendous. Congrats!!!

Man, I hope this is being played to people, at least on a weekly basis. It should make the world a better place.
God bless you
How did he do that? I’ve listened to Johnny since his first album came out. Not only the playing but he nailed the tone. Mere mortals can’t do this.
🤝💪👍
My favorite johnny winter song layed out expertly !! Fabulous!!! Thank you!

WOW! DAMN close to what Johnny did on his triple album! As a guitarist, I did notice a few differences, but they were minor. Congrats! And thanks!
Can't tell you how much joy I get from watching your vids! Especially this, one of my fave Johnny songs.
Awesome! My Favorite JW song! It's like the whole song is a solo! LOL First time I saw him he opened for Led Zeppelin at the Boston Garden in 1969!
