Ola this is great advice!!! I wish that I would have thought I was smart enough to have figured this out on my own? I play an Evertune bridge and play mostly in D Standard and occasionally in Drop C, this is perfect!!! Thanks again Ola for SOLID ADVICE 🤘🤘
@@JigAtTheFuneral I've had many floyd rose bridged guitars and they all tuned and stayed in tune great. It's all about the set up. Dive bombs and all too.
Ola, I wish my last original swamp metal band was still together. I would love to see how our guitarist would have come up with new material on one of your amazing axes. I gotta give you mad props for making one of the toughest looking metal heads weep with pure joy by sending him one of your iconic axes. I see that as the true spirit of metal. Putting out the love of life and aggression in music but showing love and good spirit to mankind. I'm hoping I can alter my work to get that band back together. If we have to save every dime from gigs and merch to buy that guitarist one of these, it'll get done if I have to sell sammiches! We played to C I think, i'm a drummer and backup singer so what the hell do I know? Cheers sir!
Thank you so much for this video man, I just got an Evertune installed in my 7 string Ibby but I haven't been brave enough to try to change the tuning yet
I always play dropp, the changes I make are in tonality, I use a digitech drop that serves this purpose well, but going from standard to dropped that way was cool
I like your videos better then your suggested person to watch. Besides as much as that person wishes to they will never catch up to your Status . Thanks for all your youtube videos man.
Wow so this is the one reason I was not wanting an everyone bridge I thought it would suck for changing tunings in general and not be easy to drop. After watching this and some other videos and educating myself man I want one so bad. Only thing sucks is not having a Floyd for fun whammy stuff but this will be great for a practice guitar, recording guitar, back up guitar at shows. It can do it all and be reliable which is great for confidence when playing with only one guitar and it being a Floyd. If a string pops your show is done it’s terrible but with a back up ever tune ready to go I know I’m covered.
As well as I am musician dedicated myself, I always love watching your content. Your commercials and recommendations are sick Mahn!!!! Honestly, I know I may sound like a fan boy, but I love your work dude!!! ;) \m/
Hola, Ola. Love the offerings in your lineup of newly released Solar Guitars! Since you’re offering models pre-loaded with EverTune bridges, do you think you’ll ever offer a model with True Temperament frets?
But then doesn't that mean - in the last example - that whenever you're in standard, the Evertune is not engaged on the lowest string..? And so that string plays like any normal non-evertune guitar?
@Uncouth Rapscallion So if a person does it the way Ola did in the video won't that mean that the low E string will not be responsive to bends and vibrato? If I have understood the instructional videos I've seen correctly when he tunes from drop C up to d standard, wouldn't he have to go all the way through the dead zone right up to the very top end of it in order for that string to respond to bends?
Hey Ola I have a question When you use the tuning pegs to go from standard to drop tuning and vice versa, doesn't the tension get affected? Wouldn't it be less convenient to chug or play riffs on the lower strings?
With his method, the low string would be in Zone 2 when dropped to C, but well out of Zone 2 in standard D. So that string would play as if on a fixed bridge at a D. Probably a decent trade-off since the dropped pitch is more susceptible to going sharp when attacked. Changing the tuning at the bridge with the key (slowest method) is the only way to be in Zone 2 for both.
I really love the guitars man! Especially the S1. 6 ET LTD Poplar Burst. My calculations are telling me I can afford one October next year. So can't wait.
Обалденно! Смотрел много отзывов. Но, к сожалению, цена этой гитары в России около 200.000 рублей. А при зарплате в 30.000 - это просто никогда не случится. Спасибо за обзоры, Ола!
Question - if i do understand evertune correct - when you are sharpening the 6th string to go to D from C you are exceeding zone 3 and the evertune stops "working" and keeping forever in tune ur 6th string as a D, ye? It will be "forever" in tune when it is C cuz thats where you set the sweet spot (right before zone 3) of the saddle and sprigns are working to keep it in tune? It doesn't keep you from bending 6th string in both D and C that way tho so that might be pretty genius idea especially for live perfoming ^^
KriSnot Just got an Ltd with an evertune today. To answer your question, the answer is you can actually tune up to standard from drop C after leaving zone 2. You can bend and vibrato too. The bridge then just works like a regular bridge on a guitar. Hope this helps. This technique Ola showed works, it’s so awesome!
So if I want to play a 7 string I can use this to switch the b string to match e standard tuning aswell by just leaving the sweetspot? The tuning stability is gone than right ?
I'm sure you'll never see this but I'm wondering what was used to create that faux finish behind you? That's one hell of an accent wall! One that I'd love to reproduce here in the states for specific customers who appreciate that look...
hi ola ! i was wondering, does the evertune bridge still do its purpose when you tuned the low string up( to the standard tuning), does it still keep the guitar tuned like it is supposed to?
Hey Ola. So it is safe to tune up the string that much in the zone 3? Its a whole tone higher on your top string if I understood correctly. What was the string gauge in this case?
Hi Mr. Ola! your SOLAR brand is fantastic !!! Just one question: are you going to make a similar model of Dimebag's Stealth by Washburn but FINALLY with 24 frets?
ola, hello from istanbul, big big fan… give me ur advice on guitar strap length :)) when i keep it low, better for gallops and muting but bad for soloing… keep it high and its complete opposite.. do you think a V guitar might be easier to manage, i can keep it low but prop up the guitar for soloing easier by resting V on my right leg? dumb question maybe but very frustrating issue for me.. any thoughts? thx.. .. n also thx for all the cool vids you put out, whether its gear or music, very very appreciated…
why couldn't Randall put one 6l6 and on kt88 in the satan 50 instead of two 6l6s. I don't know a ton about electronics but it seems like a thrasher with a few extra features
Mine was in tune to just standard tuning, The only thing I had to do is bring the pitch up on the tuning peg so I could bend the note. Hope this helped
Hey Ola, your quick method looks cool, but don't you get intonation or action problems given that going from your stable pitch (C) to your higher pitch (D) makes the floating saddle move ? from my experience with evertune bridges, the saddles tend to move both up and left or down and right (player's perspective) when your increase or decrease string tension, respectively.
Jeff Sternon I'm no Ola, but I have been using evertune for a couple of years and the only thing that happens in the scenario that you're describing (in my experience) is frequent detuning of the strings. It ain't good, but the tension seems to stay fine.
Hey, thanks for your answer. Actually, the tuning of the string is fine most of the time. What I meant was that when changing tension using the headstock tuners (when the saddles are in the floatting position), eventhough the open strings stay in tune, the saddles move thus changing action and/or intonation
No, what I mean is this: when you set the saddle to its active mode (i.e. note remaining at a stable pitch despite bending etc), changing the string tension (i.e. using the headstock tuners) will result in saddle motion even though the open string remains at a constant pitch. This results in my case in intonation and action problems
Jeff Sternon OK, now I see what you mean. To be honest, I haven't tried that feature. I'll check it out, but it sure doesn't sound like it should happen.
Ola, pls, I have a question. I bought solar v1.6 artist , but when I dropped it from E standard to D# standard, I can’t bend.... what’s the problem??😭😭😭And sometimes the vibrato seems not so sensitive and kinda hard to bend , my hand hurts......(I am from China, my English sucks)
Hi ola wich string gauge do you use with evertune bridges . I've heard the saddles in this bridge couldn't take much than 10 or 11. So for drop C with 10's......?
He uses 10 to 52 - The way the Evertune uses separate tension on each string you can do drop C with lighter strings than you would on a standard bridge..
Once you turn the tuning peg out of drop C though into D standard, you're going to lose the "evertune" aren't you because its out of the range now? It will go out of tune?
Does it get out of tune specifically because zone 3 in evertune bridge doesnt hold tune well +Noam Kakashy? Because with normal bridges at least, i dont have that issue switching, if i give the string a thorough stretch process
If you move a string outside of the 'sweet spot' (zone 2) in either direction (zones 1 or 3), it will hold tune exactly as well as any normal fixed bridge, because you've effectively anchored the normally-floating saddle to one side or the other. So you might have to tune that string between sessions just as you would any normal guitar, yeah, but no worse than that.
Do you have any intonation issues going from either drop C or D standard? The appeal of the Evertune is the intonation is much better all over the neck, but wasn’t sure if that one string will start going sharp or flat if you’re set up for Drop C, for example and then tune up to D.

Why is it a pita to tune the bridge with the tuning key? You would just have to tune the low string down to drop and that’s it right?

And it’s evertune active on the critical low tuning where the string is more slack so win-win
