Best all-rounder I've owned in 35 years of biking. It does everything, but is especially strong in the city or when back lane scratching with tight corners and switchbacks where it's pretty much the boss. Put it this way, I've got the 2008 ST with the shorter first gear, and I've also got a 2009 GSXR1000. The gixxer is a great bike, but its done 17000kms to the triple's 133000.
I have had my 2013 street triple since last June, it just gets better every time I ride it, now in for its 6000 mile service after a busy six months of riding including a trip down to Benidorm where it performed superbly there and back through France and Spain. Very addictive bike especially when revved, it growls through the air box and pulls like a train
Thanks for sharing, great bike you have and a very useful review. We have just ordered one from the local dealer and are really looking forward to its arrival. In no small part to reviews like yours. So much appreciated and thanks again for taking the time to upload.
I went from a 2013 Street Triple R to a 2008 CBR600RR not because I disliked the Triumph but because I scratched the frame when I lost the rear on some gravel. I really do miss the linear torque, acceleration, looks, comfort, uniqueness, electronics including shift lights, abs, and always on dual headlights. The 600RR is noticeably faster after 8K RPM and loves to get in to corners better, also the wind protection is much appreciated. Triple is best in town but I used it to commute to my nightjob 20 miles out of town. 600RR gets me really tired after 5-6 hours in the saddle.

Back in the 1970's I owned a 750cc Trident and it was pretty quick but I'm think'n this 675 could run circles around it. Enjoy.
Having ridden a CBR600RR and Triumph Street Triple, I much prefer the Triple for many reasons but mostly due to the comfort however the CBR600RR is still a amazing bike! So glad you got a Triumph Street Triple (Especially the 'R' Version!) Love it!
I love my Streetie period! Would never give her up. Congrats on the purchase. I've done some long rides on her longest so far was about 1300km in two days. My buddy who owns a Harley was more tired than I was.
Congrats!!! Correct me if I'm wrong about the break in period, it's only the olden day engines require s low riding break in. Modern day motors they recommend not thrashing it but higher rpm riding to break in and supposedly it's better. Something about the seals and other things.
I own a 2011 and agree with you there it really is the ultimate street bike, fantastic for B road blasting as it handles like a 250 but goes like a 750! That 675 engine is, in my opinion the best engine ever put in a bike, it does everything. Low down torque like you said but get it up to 12K rpm and it goes like a supersport bike!
Just bought the exact same bike in Black with red....Stunning!!!! Roll on the sunshine....Enjoyed your US stuff more city would have been interesting...Keep up the good work mate :-)
Great videos SMO, love watching them esp about the '13' street triple r, i will purchasing mine in late spring of '14' can't wait to get it after researching bikes for awhile the st 675 r is the best bike out there. Also can't wait to dress it up, keep posting those great videos, fellow rider from across the pond
Nice review bud and love the bike (of course - I'm biased). Really enjoyed seeing the IOW from the bike - I've visited 6 times in the last month (by aeroplane....my other hobby) and walked up that hill to the obelisk at the start of the vid only last week! Love it there - like going back in time 30 years......keep up the good work! - TMF
Hi Mate! Your videos are awesome and I'm thinking of getting your bike next. Not sure if you have already, but I'm really keen to hear what you've got to say about the triumph speed triple compared to your street. Keep at the good work!
amazing bike, triples are the way forward belly pan was a wise move as it wouldn't look right without one, but you need one final touch, retro fit the headlights from the earlier model ;)
Nice to see that you got this bike! I remember the first video you've done with the Daytona and the StreetR. After that I've gotten a 13 Daytona R and it's amanzing also, but a bit too unconfortable (as I've had a naked bike before) Sometimes when the shift lights light up I kinda think it's the cops hahaha
nice bike, and i know what you mean about having just as much fun on a different type of bike, i started off with a sports commuter then went onto a BMW r12gs, totally different but still so much fun
Hahaha I knew you would get one! Sorry I haven't been tuning in but congratulations! I'm going to have one soon as well, probably. My Tiger just isn't exciting enough, and by that I mean fast, and by fast I mean hoony.
I'll be buying a 2013 in a few weeks. I just got hit by a car on my 2010 Striple about a month ago and cracked my tibia and shattered my wrist. I had only traded for it about 2.5 weeks before the crash but there was no question about what my new bike would be. Once I got a taste of that snappy 3-banger, I was in love. As soon as the clutch hand is healed, it'll be time for some good spring riding. Also, Tour Master gear saved my ass in that wreck. Always wear good gear!
***** Picked up a 2014 a couple of days ago! I'm not quite well enough to take a real ride yet but at least I can work the clutch. Cosmic Green. Not the exact color I wanted but they were making room for some new Tigers and gave me a decent deal.
hmm So this bike feels faster, more comfortable and uses less fuel? i'd still prefer CBR - I'm not ready yet or I just have to learn on my own... also this video sounded like the honda was amazing but you found something better, in my opinion not as good looking, and not that I care about the look but triuphs are just not my type of bike... I can't wait to see your review once you do some miles! :) Oh almost forgot, nice video! :)
Hello buddy, do you have the standard seat or do you have the normal one, i agree with what you said the bike is superb i have just swapped in a S1000RR for one! Miss the looks of the BM but the STR is better is so many other ways! Any recommendations for tiers and huggers?
fell inlove with Triumph lately. however i tried the 765 RS, my wallet can't match the price thou... However, 675R is in my range. does it matter if one get the 2013 or 2016 (or any year in between). just talking about the R model, not the Rx. Cheers! :D
No idea what a crumpet is, but the coffee will be hot and ready for ya. BJ's will have to shop around never know what to expect in a town where prostitution is legal. Lots of iffy girls going around etc. Door's open w/e you want to cross that big ass pond. :)
Hi mate looking to go onto bikes im of the right age. A cars out the question cos insurance in the uk is fuckin ridiculous. Hows your insurance like if you dont mind me asking. So how much was it on the supersport-rr and how much is it now on the triple r. Also how much ncb have you got.
The RR was my first bike (I was 25 when I bought it) and insurance was £700 TFPT with 0 NCB and an agreed value of £4,000 with mods declared. The Street Triple R is £460 fully comp, mods declared with 1 NCB and an agreed value of £8,500. Both bikes locked up overnight in a secure building. Basically, supersports are an asshole to insure, nakeds are cheap as!
Pyro-M The Street Triple R is my current bike fella - £460 fully comp, 26 years old, 1 NCB, mods declared, agreed value of £8.5k and kept in a locked building overnight. Alarmed, tracked and data tagged.
+joshuamoore13 It's the old "mine's bigger" isn't it. You see cheap I see fantastic, you see not enough I see well in abundance. 5.5 decades and 50 + bikes later I know what I like and find it fully met in the 09. I have a Bonneville which I love, I'm British/American so my loyalties tend towards Hinckley but after having a 1050 Triple with electrical demons I've gone Oriental. Love the one you're with.
Congrats, may she give you many smiles / mile

Since the first Triple I felt in love them. You were right to get the belly pan and the deflector they just make perfect even better ;)
If you change the shift lights to the SE setting the LEDs light up 1 at a time the faster you get instead of having all 6 suddenly flash up.
you can adjust when the shift lights come on or turn them off completely if you like in the setup menu if they piss you off

Great bike. I got mine with the same extras 3 weeks ago...already done 2700km and I love it.
Test rode a Street Triple R yesterday.... Totally understand your view on this well balanced bike. Will be buying a Triple R next couple of months...
Great video again mate! But I'm surprised you didn't pick up on that runner at about 7:15. She was nice!
I just got a 2013 Street triple with only 1800, miles on it. God I love the bike. Looking forward to some long rides.
Looking noice buddy, good to hear you're enjoying it... it's such a cracking bike! :D

amazing bike, triples are the way forward
belly pan was a wise move as it wouldn't look right without one, but you need one final touch, retro fit the headlights from the earlier model ;)
This is my dream bike. I told my Mrs I just have to have one but she just laughed. I am saving my pocket money. Congrats on your new purchase.
Nice bike Smo, you got to love that triple engine :)
....that sweet sound of a triple :D Congrats on the new bike it looks stunning.
FYI an exhaust would lean out the afr
+Jared House You are correct, sir!
Nice machine smo! Always good to see a new ride

Ooh, shit! Sorry to hear about your off dude but at least you didn't let it put you off!
***** Picked up a 2014 a couple of days ago! I'm not quite well enough to take a real ride yet but at least I can work the clutch. Cosmic Green. Not the exact color I wanted but they were making room for some new Tigers and gave me a decent deal.
Good choice Smo! My favorite street bike
I agree that the Street triple looks awesome and would love to get one but that's about 3 and a bit years until I can consider one :/
She's a beaut. Do you notice any difference in wind at all, coming from a bike with full fairing?
Beautiful bike-nuff said!
I just bought a standard 2016 version in the black color scheme (got a cracking deal)
Its a preeeetty amazing bike
You'll be very happy dude!
It's all about triumph. Shall own one one day.

Ive ridden one before, its a lovely bike, really nice smooth motor.
Wonder how long it will be before everyones cow spanking videos come out :-)
You test ride the MT09? If so what was it like?

Nice :)
There's a Triumph dealer 500yrds down the road from me. I may just .....
Does this model have a quick shifter smo ??
Nice bike mate :-)
Do you prefer the 2013 Striple 1st gear over the shorter 2012 Striple 1st gear?
Honestly fella, I can't say - I've only ridden '13 STRs.
Such a beautiful bike 😍I have one like your, thanks God🙏
I share your love :)
Tail tidy looks good, white is the best colour. Ride safe :-)
I bet after all these years, that cow still has beef with you
can you put the microphone for your voice louder ?
No idea what a crumpet is, but the coffee will be hot and ready for ya. BJ's will have to shop around never know what to expect in a town where prostitution is legal. Lots of iffy girls going around etc. Door's open w/e you want to cross that big ass pond. :)
They're all ABS models :)
I saw one in black and red (see my R800r video). Looked good but not as much as yours, sir!
Its a triple bro you cant help but like em lol...Yeah for sure im loving it ;-)
Excellent review and I do love the bike, always have with Triumphs.
Would love one but sadly, my reactions are sh!t!

Unfortunately the FZ 09 overshadows this lovely machine, cheaper and better.
Cheaper, yes. Cheaper in every aspect, unfortunately. Better? By a large margin, absolutely not.
+joshuamoore13 It's the old "mine's bigger" isn't it. You see cheap I see fantastic, you see not enough I see well in abundance. 5.5 decades and 50

Go on a test ride Weeem! :D
Awesome!
I bought a street tripe.... but a cow kicked it :\ < True story. ;)
Cow basher... Nice bike by the way!
I need this bike!
Awesome bike... Great choice... Hope you set a new trend of slapping ass as we ride along... Gonna take a brave man to slap a horse though.
That road is fucked!
