- Welcome back to The Green Yard! It's been almost a year since the last video was released. Lots of things have happened in the last year, design features added, plants planted and ponds created. It's the middle of March and we're planting one of the most sought after fruit trees in the Phoenix area, an Avocado Tree. In this video we're going over our planting procedure for putting a Hall Avocado Tree in The Green Yard! I am so excited to try this amazing fruit in a few years and to add more life to the Tropical Food Forest part of The Green Yard!

Never had any problem growing Avocados here in Florida, the soil is perfect in fact any Tropical fruit trees❤❤❤
Hi Bennie, thank you for watching and commenting! That is awesome to hear that you are able to grow Avocados in Florida. I have heard amazing things about the weather and Florida's climate when it comes to growing fruit trees. I have visited many times but never to specifically visit nursery's or tour any food forests. Maybe that will happen some day.

Thank you so much! It's getting there, I can't wait for June when everything is in great shape. I'm excited to make some homemade guacamole! Hopefully it produces soon.
Avocado alive still?
Hi Eric, thank you for the comment! Yes, the avocado is still alive and doing very well. It's put on about a foot of growth. It seems to be very happy with the cooler weather and I'm hoping that it puts on flowers again this spring. I'll have to do an update video here in the spring. Thank you for watching!
Never heard of a Hall Avocado Tree.
Hello, thank you for watching and commenting! Yes, it is a variety of avocado. There are many different varieties out there and some are more tropical than others. Hass avocado is the one that we are most used to in the grocery store. I think my favorite though, and the next one I am going to add to The Green Yard, is the Marcus Pumpkin Avocado.
I'm in Glendale and have about a 3 year old Fuerte that managed to survive our rough Summer. How'd your Hall do?
