Hi Claudio- Bravo! I stumbled onto your video... you are a craftsman showing your art! My question is were did your purchase the electronic thermometer shown on the rights side of the Cremina ? Please advise. Thank you
I think a drop of water on the beans before grinding is meant to reduce or eliminate the grinds from getting a static charge.. I think thats what he's doing anyway. I could be wrong.
@@claudiolevermag specially for the Cremina, fine a grinding does not work well, and the new eureka mignon xl grinder it’s even worse you cannot enjoy it on olympian Cremina so disappointing.
I love this video! I came here to look at your Cremina but I been looking for videos that show an Apollo grinding for espresso also. I can't believe that I get two videos in one! The BPlus doesn't look that easy to grind for espresso. I think my wrist would fall off. How do you like the BPlus? I either want to get the BPlus, the 1Zpresso JE Plus, or the Helor Flux 106 grinder. I'm also considering a Cremina. I love the simplicity. I'm considering a La Marzocco Linea Mini too. As you can see, my thoughts are all over the place. I am confused. Thank you. btw... where did you get that really cool mirror?
Hi David, my bad I saw your comment only now. Get a lever machine and you will be happy to make coffee. Stille, BPlus Apoll gives me such a great ground texture, I wouldn't pick up any other grinder of its category. Did you join the lever fever FB group? Many options about the machine can come up....nontheless, I love my Cremina. Cheers
Hi Claudio, how does the cremina compare to a more "basic" lever machine like a europiccola? I'm thinking mainly of thermal management and shot size (I'm noticing in a few cremina videos that people dont tend to do "fellinis" to reach desired water amount in the group before pressing down) but any other insights would be super interesting. thanks!
Hi Hannes, not possible to say in a few words, btw I wrote a full comparison between the two in the lever fever facebook group. Here is the link of the post: m.facebook.com/groups/573370859774087?view=permalink&id=669678993476606 Cheers
Hey Claudio, So I see you weighed in a 16g dose and your final shot weighed 37g, with ONE full press of the lever, so thats about a 1:2.2 ratio... I've seen some other videos where people are dosing around 15-16g but only getting about 26g out with one full press of the lever. Is your ratio out pretty consistent with your 16g in? Also are you using the stock Olympia Double Basket or one of the other 49mm baskets out there?
The key is the preinfusion. If you press down on the lever from the beginning, not let the water saturate the puck, then your yield will be lower. I was doing around 35g out that way. after doing the preinfusion that claudio is doing, I get about 45g out
Hey Claudio! its a pleasure to find you here!
Awesome!
Thank you
What kind of mirror is that?
It is the standard mirror you get in Italy during the mandatory military service. Basically it is a metal chromed plate.

Hi Mark, for the thermometer stand, have a look at bplus.biz. Still, you might find interesting this magazine: www.thelevermag.com

Did you put drops of water on the coffee beans ?

I noticed you ‘pumped’ the lever, but I’ve heard some people advise not to do this. What are your thoughts?

Very nice set up...but I do see a Kinu M47 in your future!
No way, a Kinu m68 would make really the difference (and is beautifully made). Looking for that! 😉
Very nice
Like a priest arranging his holy stuff ...
Claudio, how come you are using your Apollo (if I am not mistaken) instead of your Specialità?
awesome vid!
Apollo provides a way better ground quality especially with demanding light roasted single origins
@@claudiolevermag wow I was expecting the flat burrs of the Specialità to perform better instead! and what do you use the Specialità for?
I use the specialità for the cheaper beans

Quickmill 0820: Great coffee, less money. Made to last for years.
I found mine as a second hand for about 600 bucks
