I can hardly type...You two are curators....Keepers of the history. FANTASTIC... If i were there i would need to sit in the seat Amelia and Charlie sat in while piloting that historic bird! WOW what a collection. We all are mere mortals...yet what you guys are doing will transcend your lives! Generations to come can see feel and on certain occasion SMELL the history you men are preserving. WOW....never have i seen so many tri-motors in one spot. May the great plane fan in the sky grant you two long lives to finish your honorable mission. Blue sky's and fair weather to you both in your future endeavors. Keep it up. Last tri motor i saw was in Sandusky Ohio delivering mail...i believe to Catawba island in Lake Erie. I watched it take off when my dads truck was getting loaded
Each year for a while at the Antique Aircraft Association annual fly-in at Blakesburg, Iowa, Greg would arrive in a fresh restoration of some impossibly rare antique. The grass field there isn't terribly long and many of his airplanes are quite large but they were made for places like that. Thank goodness there remain people of means devoted to restoring and flying these sorts of aircraft.
Boy oh boy... Definitely a three bib drool factor. The restorations looked impeccable. The historic non-restoration even made sense. Thanks for the tour.
I've always been MUCH more a fan of warbirds than pre-WWII civilian aircraft, but this video just made me drool. That collection, especially all the trimotors, is simply amazing. Thanks, Kermit!
Man, there is so much history (and money) packed into that hangar. Thanks for bringing the camera along! Easily on my bucket list of places to visit...
Just imagine what it must feel like to be able to collect real aircraft like most of us collect model aircraft... This is the stuff that aviation enthusiasts' dreams are made of! I'm looking at three-views for the Keystone-Loening Commuter now, that would make a great RC model, definitely the only way I will ever be able to own and fly one! The retractable undercarriage looks challenging though.
This amazing aircraft display is about 10 minutes from home. The collection is open to the public a few times each year when the Blaine Airport has a special event. I call the “museum” the best kept secret in the aviation world. Dayton, Munich, and Chino may have great aircraft in their offerings, but this display is simply one of a kind - truly spectacular! I believe time to view this collection is only available when the Blaine Airport has a special event and the doors are open to Herrick’s Hangar. In this UTube show you get to hear Herrick give details that would otherwise never be heard. If you love aircraft this is one experience you don’t want to miss!
..this is mostly light civilian stuff, which is not normally my thing..but, man, is there a lot of rare, unusual, historical, and beautiful aircraft here!...Great collection :)
The Avro Avian was one of two imported into Australia by my grandfather Capt. F.C. R. Jaques. Its incredibly sad that the plane is no longer in Australia, as it is full of the Jaques family history. I hope one day I can make it to Minnesota to see his plane.
What an amazing collection of Tri Motored aeroplanes, these all have such character and attention to detail, such collections can only be a labour of love and a passion for preserving the past in this way,a lot of history under one roof,it must take a full time work force to keep these all polished as they gleam, nothing was said about the Taylor Aerocar one of only two extant I believe a brave attempt at the flying car concept which did work, with gentlemen like these two we have to be indebted to their passion to preserve such rare birds.
This guy hosts the “great minnesota aviation gathering” in his hangar every year. Really cool to see the attention to detail on these things up close and personal.
I remember that Kruetzer at Camarillo airport in '91, it looks a lot nicer than it did then. If the Seabird is the one restored by Channing Clark, he used to bring it to the annual fly-in at Ramona in San Diego, he was an interesting person to talk to and listen to as he explained how he found it and what it took to return to flight. Someday I would like to visit this collection.
Mr. Weeks sir...Did i hear you say Kalamazoo? Like Michigans Kalamazoo? the air zoo? You Mr. Weeks make some of the greatest aviation videos out there. I am subscribed to several(after yours) Mikey McBryan(plane savers) Trent palmer, and Mike Petey...They are good but YOURS are the cream!
I would need someone to follow me with a mop from all the drool I would be leaving in my trail. Never seen so many tri-motors in one hanger. WOW. And that Cessna looks lost. lol Thanks for the video!!
WOW, I've been researching the buhl pup for years and couldn't locate the aircrafts owners until now. I spat my beer out when I saw it. I'm building a 1/4scale rc version.
Every pilot has their fetish and his is tri-motors. I do believe he's cornered the market. But the provenance on some of those acft are incredible! I'd love to check that place out. Even Kermit was schooled
Incredible. Yes the one that crashed in the parking lot. I think it crashed because a "remove before flight," wind gust lock on the elevator wasn't removed on the preflight.
That Aero car is what caught my eye...I wish Kermit would buy that, cause I couldn`t afford to buy a picture of it. And yeah, this guy seems to be Tri Motor crazy. I`ll never forget watching a video of one of the original pilots of the Ford Tri Planes talking about how loud, hot and vibration prone and uncomfortable they were. Can`t remember his name. P.S I love you Kermit weeks, as always, thank you for sharing with us.
its kermit's helicopter collection as i don't have any. he has a bell 47 h-13 in the M*A*S*H* theme on it and 3 Sikorsky s-55s. two to be for ride operations, the parts s-55 will be static he says. i think he has one Pitcarin autogyro. but interesting planes in the video the one trimotor Greg herrick has Lindberg flew.
A fun museum. I've been there a few times. I've never been to another museum where nearly every aircraft you look at is a "what the heck is that" moment. No P-51's, Corsairs, P-40's... Very unique collection. The majority of the collection is currently for sale. Looks like he's moving on. www.platinumfighters.com/goldenwingsmuseum?dlr=1&if=1&pcid=1374729&snai=0&sps=0&src=0
I am Argentine and I would like to know if you can describe me here in the comments that is what is said in the video about the last plane shown by Mr. Weeks. Thank you very much (I do not interpret English but I can translate a description from here)
that one plane he has with a Packard diesel engine quite rare the diesel radial engines majority of them were made by Guiberson the one plane used them but most of the Guiberson diesel radial engines were used in the M5 Stuart tank. as i believe most guiberson diesels had a shotgun type starter made by breeze. not sure what packard used. fantastic collection too bad no helicopters.
What terrific tour with two very knowledgeable gentleman. Thank you for taking us along.

Another interesting Kermie Cam.
I just love the story's that each plane has.
Each year for a while at the Antique Aircraft Association annual fly-in at Blakesburg, Iowa, Greg would arrive in a fresh restoration of some impossibly rare antique. Just incredible, what a terrific collection. Thanks for sharing it, Kermit.
Love those tri-motors.
Kermit, Thanks for taking us with you!!!
Must be nice to have so many antique and historic aircraft and land vehicles. God Bless.
Too bad its not open to the public, would love to see his collection. Awesome video.
That's one hell of a collection of very interesting, historic aircraft.
That's just a huge WOW! So many tri-motor planes under one roof! Incredible restoration jobs. Thanks, Kermit.
Boy oh boy... Definitely a three bib drool factor. The restorations looked impeccable. The historic non-restoration even made sense. Thanks for the tour.
Thank you for the tour Kermit!
So many fine examples of my favorite era of aviation! Thanks Kermie!
Those planes are a work of art
What an incredible collection of Golden Age airplanes !
I've always been MUCH more a fan of warbirds than pre-WWII civilian aircraft, but this video just made me drool. That collection, especially all the trimotors, is simply amazing. Thanks, Kermit!
2 airplane collectors having many interesting conversations. Such an amazing hobby\passion. Thanks for sharing this experience Kermit
Man, there is so much history (and money) packed into that hangar. Thanks for bringing the camera along! Easily on my bucket list of places to visit...
Terrific video - next best to being there
Man...different era, different time. I love the wicker basket seat in the back..."early coach".
Love that era of flying. Thank god you you guys have these aircraft. All the best in 2019 Kermit
Very cool! I didn’t know that so many different tri-motors were made.😎👍🏼
What an amazing collection of interwar GA and airliners! I had no idea many of those still existed.
I'm about 5 miles from this airport, they do a show every year, aviation days in the beginning of June, love the vids Kermit! Keep them coming!
Ever hear why collection is for sale???

Thanks for the ride Kermit!

the best tour, thank you Kermit.you are the best!.x

Wonderful video, I did not know most of those aircraft still existed. I absolutely loved it!!!
Very cool. I haven't been to KANE in a very long time. Thanks for the tour, Mr. Herrick and I hope your stay in our state was enjoyable, Mr. Weeks.
That was fantastic thanks Kermit.

Fantastic collection of history.
Wow what history in that hanger, thanks Kermit
Thank you Kermit.
You two are awesome.
You document all sorts of crazy-neat things. But this IS the most insanely awesome incredible stuff.
What a treat buddy...... Learned a lot, this vid is a keeper. Thanks
Amazing tour that hangars full of aviation treasure so cool and that guy knows everything about them what great recollection
WOW! Some of the most famous aviators in history flew that Trimotor. That's amazing!
That was Fun!!! Thanks Kermit once again!
Amazing machines that have lots of interesting stories to tell
Thanks...very cool
Excellent video! I've been in that hanger for a hanger dance but didn't know the full history. Amazing lineage of those aircraft.
So amazing! Thank you for sharing.
Amazing history! Thanks so much for the tour!
Very interesting video!
Thanks for sharing this.
The 1927 Ford Trimotor (8:50): The fourth name on the nose is Bernt Balchen. He became more famous in the US than Norway, his birthplace.
Amazing... Very informative and interesting tour. Ford trimotor use to perform loops in an old video.
Incredible tour thank you for sharing!
Amazing collection, man does he like tri motors lol.
Thanks for sharing.
Luv these hanger vids
This guy hosts the “great minnesota aviation gathering” in his hangar every year. Really cool to see the attention to detail on these things up close and personal.
PLEASE buy that Aero car Kermit! It needs someone that would love it like you and needs to remain a museum piece.
Great footage, love it!
I remember that Kruetzer at Camarillo airport in '91, it looks a lot nicer than it did then. Exquisite, thank you.
Man......that is cool! My favorites are AA Stinsons.

Thank you. Spread the word.
I would need someone to follow me with a mop from all the drool I would be leaving in my trail. Never seen so many tri-motors in one hanger. WOW. And that Cessna looks lost. lol Thanks for the video!!
I live in southeast Alaska in a town called sitka and we have an island right out of town called Kruzof.
Heaven in earth right there
thats amazing
Yeah thanks Greg :)
These are some nice planes but they don’t have NOTHING on Kermit’s toys. 🤙🏼😁🤙🏼 Great video Kermit!! 👍🏼
Man I'd love to see this place in person !!!
All of the aircraft are currently for sale, platinumfighters have the current listings. So you'd better be quick.
it’s all gone now. He shut it down.
WOW, I've been researching the buhl pup for years and couldn't locate the aircrafts owners until now. I spat my beer out when I saw it. I'm building a 1/4scale rc version.
I work about 2 blocks away from the dearborn inn,and the ford test track was the airport st the time just across the street
Every pilot has their fetish and his is tri-motors. I do believe he's cornered the market. But the provenance on some of those acft are incredible! I'd love to check that place out. Even Kermit was schooled
Kermit's is Flying Boats...
I was in here many times
Haha that Shit at the Bat guano plane cracked me up more than it shouldve xD
Beautiful. Were they that polished when they were new, or is this just a treatment that was decided on?
Very enjoyable, even with the wonky audio when Greg spoke away from the camera. I missed a lot of what he was saying.
Wow, how many tri-motors do you need?!
Incredible. Yes the one that crashed in the parking lot. I think it crashed because a "remove before flight," wind gust lock on the elevator wasn't removed on the preflight.
The Ju 86 was the last diesel powered airliner, and only diesel powered bomber as far as I know.
So I see he's the guy selling that aerocar, also he sure loves his tri motors doesn't he?
That Aero car is what caught my eye...I wish Kermit would buy that, cause I couldn`t afford to buy a picture of it.
And yeah, this guy seems to be Tri Motor crazy.
I`ll never forget watching a video of one of the original pilots of the Ford Tri Planes talking about how loud, hot and vibration prone and uncomfortable they were.
Can`t remember his name.
P.S I love you Kermit weeks, as always, thank you for sharing with us.
He'd rather push a Ford than drive a Chevy!
I nearly had kittens when they walked up on that C3. Seemed Kermit got a little hung up on it too.
😮This guy is a Tri motor hoarder. 🤣👍🏼 No wonder you don’t see many of them because he has almost all of’em. Lol.
What a shame that his museum is not open to the public.
God Bless Molt Taylor .................... ;-p
who needs a car collection, id rather have this lol
I didn't realize there were so many tri-motors still around
its kermit's helicopter collection as i don't have any. he has a bell 47 h-13 in the M*A*S*H* theme on it and 3 Sikorsky s-55s. two to be for ride operations, the parts s-55 will be static he says. i think he has one Pitcarin autogyro. but interesting planes in the video the one trimotor Greg herrick has Lindberg flew.
wow
@14:09 Kermit says: "Shit". It`s Bat Shit to be precise. lol

Wait, your ford being built in Kalamazoo? At the air zoo?
I flew in the air zoo's tri-motor, lot of fun. I think it was 50 bucks a ride back in the 90's.
So much more interesting than Leno
This museum is now for sale. Several of these planes have already been sold.
I hope Kermit got the Aero car, I don`t think it was even mentioned to any extent.
That shuttle bus is likely a Model AA not A.

shockingly im related to greg!
He is my cousins brother. I met him at a family reunion a few years back he even flew to the reunion in his 182.
Greg, how on earth could you skip your S-1A ?
