Nice Car! Thanks! The tape on the plastic wrap part is cool. I have a mobius and have much weaker interference, but it is some. I didn't want sticky stuff all over my camera. This is a excellent solution.
Try using sticky back copper tape ( or aluminium tape ) on the outside of the GoPro plastic housing. It will look much neater and won't interfere with taking out the camera, SD card in/out or charging of the camera etc. Or if you have the patients then open up your 350-QX and line the interior base with copper or aluminium tape, that way you won't even have to mod your GoPro at all. The GoPro's interfere with other GPS signals of different Quadcopters as well, not just the Blade 350-QX.
Jay Byron I don't see why not...all its doing is masking the radio frequency produced by the gopro...haven't heard of the Phantoms having any issues, maybe a stronger GPS, still a safe way not to find out! ha ha
Any electronics held over the GPS antenna would have the same impact. You're much better off shielding the underside of your GPS antenna than wrapping up any electronics nearby.
Not sure about GPS locations on the Gopro, mine has no GPS ability....maybe you mean Wifi ? Either way it is with the Wifi OFF and before it's even recording...just when the camera is on...I think the video covered that...everything works awesome with the foil shield though. Thanks for checking out the video! :)
I could be wrong, think its the new sony action cams you can turn off the GPS and the WiFi. Seems like a needed feature for the gopro if it has issues.
Wayne Gassmann The Wifi on the Gopro is optional to turn on and off...this issue is present with it on or off...the camera puts off a radio frequency either way...and yes, it does seem to be a fault that Gopro is aware off but states that it is well within the regulations for RF (radio frequency) emissions...even though it has issued a warning not to wear the Chesty Mount over an Avalanche beacon for winter backcountry enthusiasts! www.backcountryaccess.com/2012/11/19/issw-2012-avalanche-beacons-and-electrical-interference/
Well I lost my Blade 350QX with out a Gopro on it, the GPS systems on these Quads are just cheap versions of Navigation Gps and do not hold the satellite's like your car nav's
So happy I found this! Thanks, I will give this a go and hopefully no more problems with my Quadcopter going rodeo on me.
Solved it for me...glad it might help! ...I like to call it the toilet bowl effect...as it spiraled out of control

Will this work with the Phantom 2 also

Cool. Nice car too!
Do all camera's have this problem?
What video settings are you using on your GoPro? The video quality looks very good.
This was actually only on 720 because I have it snapping photos every 5 seconds as well.

Last I checked you can turn off the GPS location on the Gopro in the options...
