It has come to my attention that I have made a grave mistake. I have left out the FROGS FROM MISTY BOG from this list. Those guys are absolutely infamous. They are the least favorite enemy of most causal players, especially when you consider the high density of them in misty bog. It's very hard not to get hit at times. However, when faced head on, the direct danger of their tounge attack is mitigated when players get proficient at flame charging. They are also a multi cycle character that jump to different resting positions based on the players camera and proximity on approach. Getting a feel for when and where they're going to jump is an artform. They are surprisingly nuanced characters that reward a player's sharp sense of improvisation. I award them the A TIER (Sorry angry casuals)
The spider level legitimately made me never want to pick up the game again when i was like 7 lmao came back to it years later thanks to your streams. Phenomenal game i missed out on
I could never complete High Caves as a kid and 100% Spyro because I was always sht scared of those spiders (and those Misty Bog bushes), but when I was 12 one of my mums friends daughter came around and we played through all of Spyro together in just one night, unfortunately she committed suicide out of heartbreak a few years later because her Dad had abandoned her family, remarried and had a 'new' child (but left behind her sister), but I always remember she gave me the courage to face those spiders.
In retrospect so many of the enemies in this game scared the ever loving shit out of me as a kid. The spiders, the weird shrub vore guys in Misty Bog, the pig behind the hut in Beast Makers was a jumpscare to me. Hell even the TNT throwing guys in Gnorc Cove, sound of the TNT alarm and the explosion terrified me man😂
The tree bush thing from Misty Bog is hands-down my favourite enemy in the series (aside from Shemp). Gave the most pants-shitting jumpscare as a kid, even more than those spiders. Iconic and gives a challenge, as well as it having a unique attack animation rather than Spyro simply getting hit with something.
What you were talking about at 33:00 I think I relate to so much, Spyro was the first video game I ever played (it was actually my older brother's but hey that counts to me) and I remembered loving it. I think I would have been like 4 or 5 at most. I also remember very similar age playing, of all things, a Mickey Mouse racing game on the Gameboy Colour. And the enemies in that game? TERRIFIED me. They were just generic (I think Pete the cat?) guys on a linear walk cycle, and if you bumped into them you'd lose money. And I never wanted to play the game because my first experience, as a little kid, were just these big enemies that you couldn't do anything about (they were meant to be obstacles, not enemies to defeat) and would hurt you. In Spyro, despite having far "scarier" enemies (I do remember the spiders being horrifying too lol) I was still excited tot see and play, because we established early on that Spyro COULD handle them. Kinda gave you the courage to tackle the rest of the game.
I love the Gnorc Cove/Gnastys world enemies. They’re such a stark contrast of realism and modern technology that fighting with the mystical lands of the Dragon worlds makes perfect logical sense and tells a great story.
I hate those spiders so much. I had really bad arachnophobia as a kid, and they scared me so badly. I was never able to 100% the game as a kid because I would always avoid High Caves.
the interesting thin about the green red thieves in treetops is though, that at the beginning, you have no chance to chase them down , which was kind of frustrating as a kid. You had to find their hindingspots without actually folowing them directly, like it used to be with the blue thieves.
It is actually possible to kill the red one before he runs off from his starting position. The green one is impossible to kill until it reaches where Jed is
For me as a child there's some enemies that was terrifying. The yellow guy from Alpine ridge, spiders from High caves, dogs from Toasty (dogs from Dark passage in big form also scary as fuck) and these fucking bush enemies from Misty bog. These fuckers start shaking and moving so fast. I was so scared of them that I avoided this level from all costs. Despite all this scary monsters I kept playing and it's still my favorite game of all time. Also I think green wizards from magic crafters world is also pretty iconic. I love the fact when you come close to them, they start panicking and running in circles but when they realize you won't kill them, they start laughing at you until you make any move and they start panicking again. It's so hilarious. Also I never thought about Shemp and mamas dynamic. It's so funny! I love the fact that all enemies interact with each other and environment. It makes them feel more life and meaningful. No one tells about lore and story in game but if you look closer to details you'll notice a lot of lore and story and this is what makes the first Spyro game much better than other Spyro games.
While I agree on the spiders being nightmares, I would probably put them into A tier. When I played Spyro as a child, I was really scared of them and it made me feel like I was really exploring a dangerous magical world - not to mention the feeling of triumph when I came back later and found out how to kill them. They're a cool element in the High Caves level design and very unique compared to the many same-ish gnorcs. Also I only found out by watching your streams that the guys in the tents are showing their ass and not hiding behind a flat, weird, yellow shield.
The spiders genuinely terrified me as a kid. I distinctly remember pissing myself when one just came up behind me out of nowhere. Spiders can ultimately take the fattest L possible. Best enemy though out of all of them is Dr. Shemp. An absolute sexy legend he is; the biggest bitch of them all, and literally a Chad GOD.
Imagine this guy as your boss at work. He's doing the meeting, and promoting and demoting the same guys back and forth like, 10 times through that, and they didn't even do anything.
As a kid I never made it to the spiders so they have no affect on my nostalgia :( The furthest I could go is Peacekeepers for some reason. I think I wasn't investing much time to it and I kept losing the savegames.
Beyond Good & Evil is also a really wonderful game that has a very frustrating tedious gimmicky boss fight at the end that ends up letting it down a lot
My favorite fact about Spyro 1 enemies that nobody ever mentioned is how the first enemy in the entire game is more tough than the final boss (Thiefs dying in 3 hits vs. Gnasty Gnorc dying in 2 hits)
I say you have done a great job. You know, if you are on Facebook, you can have all the other viewers to see these pictures of all of these enemies. If you go to Spyro Reignited Trilogy, could you try the same placements of best and worst enemies tiers? That would mean all 3 reignited games.
The yellow gnorcs from dry canyon deserved a higher rank, when the shoot that trumpet gun it sounds like a fart, and when you look at their bottoms there's a dark spot like they pissed or shit themselves. Also funny how they're sleeping until they see you, then they get up
I LOVE the spiders. they're nightmare fuel and hard to deal with but this feels like it's intentional for the purpose of hyping up using the supercharge for them and that worked on me in my casual playthrough I ate that up. very good. A tier
my opinion homeworld norcs (easy) world 1 stone hill: sheeps (easy) shepherds (normal) thieves (annoying but easy) dark hollow norcs (easy/normal, had troubles with the chunky ones) town square norcs (easy) bulls (easy) thieves (see stone hill) toasty shepherds (easy) dogs (annoying, i passed more to them than the boss) homeworld 2 footsoldiers (easy) cannon patrol (normal) world 2 dry canyon norcs (easy) vultures (easy)
It would so hilarious if the Gnorcs in Misty Bog could moon Spyro after charging them once. I’ve always had fun messing with them by having them run into the water and they don’t sink.
Yo Dayoman what about the large green armored guy in ice cavern? I actually think he’s one of my favorite enemies and technically he’s strong af. You can’t damage him by normal means and have to push him off the edge to kill him. As a kid I always thought that was neat.
Toasty is S tier. Such an iconic first boss. Will never forget the sheep on stilts. I had this game as a demo first and played the demo for hours. The demo only had the artisan world and you could not go into toasty's. Needless to say my shock when I got the game and the dragon mouth opened. S tier all the way.
Wow so many sigmas, chads and based individuals. I'm only upset for the flower monster getting an f because this guy is a total sigma in my eyes. He is so quirky and strange and wacky and fits the theme of the level, totally my type of guy.
Agree! Really neat enemies and fit the nightmare/dream-concept of Jacques perfectly. Very unsettling monsters, but they're holding flowers? Straight out of one of my dreams
Omg you're right, the infamous frogs are not on this list. I will rectify this with a pinned comment immediately. Thanks for bringing it to my attention

Those frogs were the WORST, especially in that hell room where there were like 6 of them!
This post sums up everything I love about u man
The spider level legitimately made me never want to pick up the game again when i was like 7 lmao came back to it years later thanks to your streams. Phenomenal game i missed out on

Rest in peace. I appreciate you sharing the story.

So true. Most of the enemies in this game are pushovers, these guys put you in your place!

That was poetic
this dude deserves more subs. this is the content i didnt realize my life was missing
I hate those spiders so much. I had really bad arachnophobia as a kid, and they scared me so badly. I was never able to 100% the game as a kid because I would always avoid High Caves.
Same on the phobia note.
I'm vibing on this video while I wait for your next stream; congrats on 37:00 WR!

Love this tier list, can agree with most of it, also love your use of the fanmade "stormy speedway" in your mix of music in your video.
For me as a child there's some enemies that was terrifying. I was gonna say the same thing about the spiders, love the depth they add. I do sympathize with speedrunners tho.
Congrats in breaking 6k UA-cam subs! Good to see your platforms growing xoxo
Big agree
Imagine this guy as your boss at work. He's doing the meeting, and promoting and demoting the same guys back and forth like, 10 times through that, and they didn't even do anything.
LOL get back to work or ur demoted to F teir!
The bulls from Town Square also have blood on their horns on the NTSC version.
"Why are you watching a shirtless VSauce Michael stream about Spyro the Dragon?"
Great video you should do more Spyro tierlist!
Great tier list. Pretty much in agreement with everything you had here
THE RIGHT OPINION!
My dream is to light a fat blunt with the wizards from the wizard's homeworld
My favorite fact about Spyro 1 enemies that nobody ever mentioned is how the first enemy in the entire game is more tough than the final boss (Thiefs dying in 3 hits vs. Gnasty Gnorc dying in 2 hits)
Those metal spiders were bitches back in the day, loved it when one spooked Dayo in his sparkless run ngl though
I am missing the slippery armor dudes in Ice Cavern. They are so much S tier
Attack frogs from Misty Bog too
I say you have done a great job. You know, if you are on Facebook, you can have all the other viewers to see these pictures of all of these enemies.
If you go to Spyro Reignited Trilogy, could you try the same placements of best and worst enemies tiers? That would mean all 3 reignited games.
I'm not going to reignited version of this. I feel it would be redundant. Thanks for watching!
The yellow gnorcs from dry canyon deserved a higher rank, when the shoot that trumpet gun it sounds like a fart, and when you look at their bottoms there's a dark spot like they pissed or shit themselves. Also funny how they're sleeping until they see you, then they get up
As the enemy and destroyer of the game itself, dayo is S tier
I LOVE the spiders. they're nightmare fuel and hard to deal with but this feels like it's intentional for the purpose of hyping up using the supercharge for them and that worked on me in my casual playthrough I ate that up. very good. A tier

It would so hilarious if the Gnorcs in Misty Bog could moon Spyro after charging them once. I’ve always had fun messing with them by having them run into the water and they don’t sink.
Those spiders HAUNTED my childhood
high caves spiders scared me but I actually loved the level so much
not from spyro 1 but the blue guys from enchanted towers in 3 used to give me intense nightmares
Glad to see the guys who moon you in peace keepers home world got S tier. I remember as a kid when they first mooned me I laughed so hard
27:21 actually, the armored gnorc in Ice Carvern can absorb 3 hits then die on the forth.
Is it just me or does it seem like Spyro 1 enemies just look way more unhinged / odd than Spyro 2 and 3 enemies ??? 😂😂😂 ESP THE JACQUES level ones !
The metal banana guys from Metalhead have that funny death cry (same as the terrace metal gnorcs) which the tree tops one doesn't
I did not need the Dr. Shemp lore in my life.
Yo Dayoman what about the large green armored guy in ice cavern? I actually think he’s one of my favorite enemies and technically he’s strong af. You can’t damage him by normal means and have to push him off the edge to kill him. As a kid I always thought that was neat.
That guy is tight, A tier
Hell yeah. Thanks man
I was looking for this comment lol
Toasty is S tier. Such an iconic first boss. Will never forget the sheep on stilts.
I had this game as a demo first and played the demo for hours. The demo only had the artisan world and you could not go into toasty's. Needless to say my shock when I got the game and the dragon mouth opened. S tier all the way.
i think the gem burgalur turns into moneybags in spyro 2
Those fucking shrubs on Misty Bog scared the living shit out of me as a kid. I legit skipped that level my first time playing, fuck those things 😂
Hi Dayo, where can i get the link for the cool spyro remix soundtrack in the background?
2 years later, yes. Those spiders unnerved the fuck outta me and I still think they look creepy. I'd sooner face the spiders from Bloodborne, no joke
8:50 Now that I play Pokemon, I name these bois Terrakions XD
Those damn spiders scarred me for life at 3 years old. I'm legit arachnophobic all thanks to those bastards.
Can anyone tell me the level the music at 19:45 is from?? It's driving me crazy
I found it! It's Peace Keepers (alternative track)👍
No Guantan frogs? Great list though. ♡
Not gonna rank them but the cupid devil is my least favorite and the guys that make the funny screams are my favorite
This is CONTENT.
Of all the enemies that had me shook the most as a kid, it had to be the dogs from Toasty. It sounds lame, but these dogs had me by the balls
41:45 AK on burst setting.
I think Toasty dogs should have been higher cuz they have 2 health.
Here I am, watchin the Enter the Dragonfly stream. I expect Big Mommas to be S Tier. HUBBA HUBBA!
Music round the 9 min mark?
This was such a fun video 💜
This is fantastic
I love the tier lists!!
I didn't know Dr. Shemp had concubines
He likes em thicc
Attack frogs. Enough said.
Be on the lookout!
46:12 more like flying potatoes
There are 3 different Druids. Tornado, earth, animals...
20:36 More like an M60.
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays at 38:45 during the Dr. Shemp sex talk?
NIce tier list, still the spiders on the S Tier >:(
The Dogs from Toasty is an easy F Tier
The way they slowly turn around after missing their belly flop triggers the fck outta me
How does "Nightmare fuel" give minus points? Every good kid media should traumatize the kids, that's the idea.
I mean, that works
Hi youtube algorithm, what's up?
Wow so many sigmas, chads and based individuals. I'm only upset for the flower monster getting an f because this guy is a total sigma in my eyes. He is so quirky and strange and wacky and fits the theme of the level, totally my type of guy.
Agree! Really neat enemies and fit the nightmare/dream-concept of Jacques perfectly. Very unsettling monsters, but they're holding flowers? Straight out of one of my dreams
Where are the misty bog frogs?????
Omg you're right, the infamous frogs are not on this list. I will rectify this with a pinned comment immediately. Thanks for bringing it to my attention
I think this list left out the asshole big frogs 😂 where would you put them!?
Which level do you mean? The ones from misty bog are here
Butt guys FTW
i hate hate hate the spiders )) they are no joke
Momma is s rank smh
Da yo man
Yooooooo
