Golden Girls - Reunion (complete episode)

- Just like the title says: Golden Girls - Reunion - Lifetime TV, 2003 (11 years after the final episode originally aired).
Obviously this is a very old video from old analogic times when TVs could only display 576 interlaced lines (in my country) and display blurry pictures with lots of noise and colors happy to bleed all over the screen. And I'm not sure as to why, but I only recorded the video with a resolution of 576/2, i.e. 288 lines. I seem to remember that my computer back then would choke on anything with a higher resolution and would start to drop frames like it was going out of fashion. So I decided to half the number of lines to make sure there wouldn't be skipped and dropped frames. Back then you only had one shot at successfully recording a show; it's not like you could catch up later on youtube or having it replayed on the internet back in those ancient times.
Now that I've said that, I am not completely hopeless at improving things and I'm exploring a couple paths that might lead to a better picture quality in the long term (hey Ty!).
Thank you for watching and thank you for pretending the picture quality doesn't suck real bad in 2023.
P.S. Hey Doe!
Men who love Golden Girls...show your pride.

DON'T YOU DARE STEAL MY LINE
very boring in contrast to Mama's Family and Carol Burnett show. I never found any of it to be remotely funny
A non-misandrist show with a wonderful cast. What wasn't to love? Adore it!
I once met Bea in London and gave her a really good laugh. She was walking with a friend of hers in Holland Park as i was walking my dogs and when i saw her i went to her and her friends and asked if i could take a photo of her with my dogs. She loved dogs and didn't say no, then she asked me why i wanted a photo of her with my dogs instead of with me and i had to tell her the truth. I had four dogs whom i called Dorothy, Sofia, Blanche and Rose and because they were all female and were golden retriever i called them the Golden Girls. She absolutely loved it. She asked me which one was Sofia and she got on her knees and gave her a huge Hug.
Awww I loved that story thank u for sharing !!! 🐾🐾
Beautiful story ❤️
Wow❤
What a wonderful appreciation for actress Bea Arthur, the dogs and Kachi! So much respect, kindness and love!💗💗🐕🐕🐕🐕💗💗
Thank you for sharing this is such a beautiful story.
This was one of the best written shows in TV history.
Lotta Sunshine: The other greatest was I Love Lucy 1952-1956 not the others after.
My daughter and I always watched the Golden Girls together. It's one of my top 5 TV shows ever 🙂. I can't even think about anyone else acting in those roles. If some TV exec. tried to do the show without the original cast members, I wouldn't even watch it. You can't improve on or change PERFECTION!
Yes absolutely. Susan Harris is known to have had chronic fatigue syndrom. Can't help thinking if I had to live with Rose all the time.. boy, most everyone would show symptomes of cfs
@@janl4706 the show brings people together 💙💙💙
THE BEST!
Honestly this whole coronavirus lockdown would not nearly have been as good without golden girls. This show is insanely timeless. Absolute favorite.
I totally agree with ya they got me through a deep depression working my way out of it 💪🏽👏🏽❤️❤️❤️❤️
I started watching it again during the pandemic. Probably October. I LOVE it. Makes me laugh so much. I just leave it play sometimes to just hear it because I know the scenes in my head lol. I'm going through all the shows again. Love the Golden Girls!
I actually binged it twice in the last year LOL
Thanks for all the memories, and it truly keep me happy doing this virus situation, staying home and staying safe and laughs! Thank- you. Golden girls! Truly amazing and grateful!
Apart from it being absolutely hilarious, and the girls delivering their lines to perfection with each individual's characteristic, there's something very comforting about them and the show. Timeless. Hysterically funny. Unique. Addicting!
How many are now watching Golden Girls episodes after Betty White's passing?
Every year members of the girls died I marathoned the show on Lifetime or Hallmark. Always felt like I lost a family member every time.
Definitely
I still find it one of the best show on TV that was made and kept going for 7 years. I look forward to the marathons that come up periodically. RIP: Estelle-Sofia; Bea-Dorothy; Rue-Blanche; Betty-Rose! Thank you for leaving such a wonderful ensemble and TV legacy! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Every chance I get
😂
The Golden Girls became a comfort show for me RIP: Estelle, Bea, Rue, and Betty
Rest In Peace to Estelle, Bea, and Rue. I will forever be a Golden Girls fan. Hang in there Betty!
*AMEN* ❤
Rip and thank you for all of the great laughs...😍😍😍😍
My two sisters & I still watch the reruns. We still laugh..Still ❤ them Golden Girls!!
Melinda Kimball they’re hilarious
I can have the worst day, and they always make me laugh...no replacing these wonderful ladies...LOVE THEM!!!
One of the only sitcoms that never gets old. I can watch it over and over again.
M. Sheehan Every single night
That's great writing.
Golden Girls, Married with Children, The Andy Griffith Show, The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, Frasier, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, Barney Miller, Malcolm In The Middle, Sanford and Son, Mama's Family, The Jeffersons, Fresh Prince of Bel Air, All In The Family, Cheers and The Odd Couple are the most timeless and iconic sitcoms ever!
It’s 2019 and am still laughing!😂😂😂
Same here
I used to watch this show with my mum year after year. My mum passed away at 88 last year then Betty White passed and then all the great women in my life had gone. But I’ll always remember the girls and my mum and her laughs at the show, through watching the reruns of my girls
My mother and I watched them together too. My Mom is gone now and miss her so much. I'm 76 now but still watch Golden Girls.
My all time favourite program too, that also got me loving cheesecake. Even now, after all these years, when going out for a coffee with friends, i order cheesecake.
Golden Girls, probably the only sucessful show I can think of where women over 50 were the main stars. I mean that same show probably wouldn't even make it to network today based on that alone, they broke boundaries and changed the world, true legends
No honey that just means you have taste
Hot in Cleveland (based on GG) was also very successful
Lee GaryB Hot in Cleveland is the modern version, and they reek of desperation
@Ryan Joseph tbh Hot In Cleveland ripped off GG almost completely so it's definitely not on their level. I never could watch that show much because not only that it ripped of Golden Girls but the writing and chemistry wasn't nearly as funny or good.
Grace and Frankie on Netflix is pretty good.
Update: I have to add S7 of G&F was released recently and I have to say the writing and everything is not the same quality as the first 5 seasons (I don’t care for S6 either). I loved every single episode of Golden Girls!
Always amazed me that Estelle Getty was actually a year younger then Bae Arthur but she still managed to pull off a character that seemed twice her age. A real gem of an actress we had there. Reminds me a lot of Ann Morgan Guilbert whom played grandma Yetta on the Nanny. She was only about 5 years younger then her daughter on the show Rene Taylor but because of the amazing actress she is we believed she was 40 years older.
kraXoom Estelle had make up
She's 5 years older than Sylvia
@@ladytruth303 betty is only like 4 months older than bea. Bea is a year older than estelle.
Bea and betty born in 1922. Estelle in 1923..
Im no math whiz.. but i dont think that's a 16yr difference lol
@@ladytruth303 she was 12 years older than Rue McClanahan, but only about a year older than Estelle.
I know this comment is years old, but for anyone reading that also loves Yetta, it might interest you to know that the actress who played her is also the mother of the actress who played Lucy, Blanche's promiscuous niece.
“Rest In Peace To Betty White it’s been confirmed she passed today at the age of 99 years old just 2 weeks before her 100th birthday of January 17th she will be truly missed as a tv American icon” #AllTheGoldenGirlsAreTogetherNow🕊
I feel I lost my mother all over again!
It was lovely how they explained Estelle not being able to participate. She was already suffering from Alzheimer’s then. These women were all a class act. And while Bea may not have been close to Betty (Betty has always been frank about Bea not having the greatest affection for her offscreen), they were consummate professionals and treated each other with the utmost kindness and respect at all times. Rue and Betty remained close friends until Rue’s passing and they all cared a great deal for Estelle, who ironically, was the youngest of the four but was the first to leave us. Rue had a clause in her contract where she kept all of her costumes from the show and Betty had the opportunity to see them again after her passing.it was a very touching walk down memory lane. I can’t help but think of the scene when the four characters discussed what would happen when there was only one of them left and now there is only Betty, who just turned 99 last week. This show was my Grandma and my favorite show every Sat night and every time I watch it now it’s like having her back with me (she passed away suddenly in 99). When you create television that transcends time and transports you that way you’ve truly made something special.
It wasn't Alzheimer's. It was Lewy Body Dementia.
When Betty white brings up the fact that Bea wasn't too fond of her off screen she still very professionally and with the utmost respect and affection for her co-star still has the nicest compliments for Bea. Like what a great and talented actress she was and how she was very happy and fortunate to have worked with Bea and the other ladies and what terrific experience the golden girls was for her......Betty white is a terrific actress and you can tell she is a great person with a heart of gold for people, animals and the environment ❤you Betty white and the golden girls
Estelle was not the youngest Rue was
@@chriskay1449 Back then I am not sure if they were aware of the difference as they have many of the same effects. I knew a man with Dementia and even his wife could not tell the difference between that and Alzheimer's
And now Betty’s gone
This is pure, clean, fun and nutritious comfort TV!! It is healthy for you and does not contain all the junk, added preservatives, sugars and chemicals like the Kardashians do!
The Golden Girls are pure, clean and fun TV!
KarTrashians? Oh my goodness! I've never watched one episode, nor would I watch Honey Boo Boo.
And your comment is SPOT on!!
It's not clean! That's why it's fun! It's pretty damn dirty.
Totally not the same era or genre or concept and us ordinarys can never down play the success of people we don't have
7 years was not enough
It was more than enough and should have ended two years earlier.
+T James no, but thanks for playing ;)
+T James Thank you, Mr. Grinch.
Lol! Even BA said the last two seasons were 'dreadful.' I'm sorry, but I have to say what I feel!!!!!
The reason it was canceled was because Bea was ready to move on so in a way seven seasons was enough
Rest in peace to all of the golden girls. They know how to make everyone laugh. It hit us hard when Betty White had passed away
It hit me hard when all 4 of them passed away, not just Betty. But I get what you mean. With Betty still around we had a link to the programme. Now we just have the DVDs, reruns on television and of course our memories.
Oh my gosh... yes! I feel like I lost a second mother and I never met her!
Yes, I understand that sentiment. Each one’s passing was difficult and emotional, but Betty was the glue that kept that show alive for so many years after the 3 other actresses passed on 10 years or more before Betty. RIP Estelle, Bea, Rue and Betty. We miss all of you, but we are so glad we can still enjoy the reruns, DVDs, and marathons of The Golden Girls and be grateful for the legacy you left for so many fans!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
I just can't imagine Betty as man hungry Blanche or Rue as naive Rose, they absolutely did the right thing in swapping roles.
The scripts are still funny today, you could use them word for word and they would still be fresh and current but I don't think you'd ever be able to find four actresses to deliver them as superbly again.
Betty White played a Blanche type character in Mama's Family that's probably why the producers though of her for Blanche.
Betty White played a Blanche like character in Mary Tyler Moore that's why Bea Authur wanted to switch them up because Rue played a kind of a ditzy character on Maude and Bea said she didn't want it to be like Maude and whoever Blanche played on Maude meets whoever Betty White played on Mary Tyler Moore
I agree Stuart T.....I can't imagine it the other way around either......I don't see Rue as "Rose"...Rue Did Blanche FAR TOO WELL! She had the WALK, the MOVES…...she LOOKED & TALKED the part!!! Betty just DIDN'T"HAVE" That.
@@twalston01 Rue played the ditzy Vivian on Maude while Betty played the man hungry Sue Ann Nivens on the Mary Tyler Moore Show.
Betty White was the man hungry character on the Mary Tyler show...She was exceptional in that role.
My favorite episode is where Rose doesn't tell the girls her date is a Dwarf, Blanche was Hilarious! Enters the room with the platter, says "SHRIMP"! And circles the room embarrassed, funniest scene I have ever seen on TV.
"Short rib." - Dorothy 😂
For sure it was 😂😂😂
That was funny 😂😂😂😂
Let me take you "height". I mean hat. ---Dorothy
Yessss lol
I'd like to think they had a huge hug and some laughs as Betty joined them in the afterlife. Soar high 🕊 and thanks for so many laughs and tears ladies. ❤
I love that visual....🙏💗👵👵👵👵
and had their heads frozen :p
And Betty would have told a Saint Olaf story for old time sake…
I doubt it. They were just actresses. They were not best friends. Why do ppl do that when it comes to actors/actress? They make up these scenarios as if these ppl are incredibly close. They were just actresses who worked together on tv. When ppl do that, I question their sense of reality because their imagination is beyond imaginable to make up such scenarios.

Amazing line for sure. Sophia has the most brilliant lines. Really good one. OMG!! can't stop laughing. Poor Blanch, she is a trooper!! LOL! Jacqueline.
The last episode of the show I have never never been able to watch with out crying.
"You will always be my sisters" 😭😭😭 When she doesn't come back that last time...I lose it.
Just reading your comment makes me cry 😭😭😭😭😭 love the girls so much 🥰 I want them with me forever... and thanks to UA-cam I can check in any time 🙏🌻💙
At least we got to see them together one last time when Bea guest starred in golden palace
Why did the show end??
These were the days when TV was a pleasure to watch, if only we could have re-runs of these shows again.
Surely Golden Girls reruns are playing somewhere.
Or, buy the show on DVD.
Fashion has changed, technology has changed, decades have passed, but this show is as relevant and funny as when it aired. God bless my Golden Girls!
It changed a lot less than I had expected....strange
Bea and Estelle as Sonny & Cher... priceless :)
I still can't fathom that three of these ladies are gone.
RIP Betty, you broke the streak of the girls dying one of the other Estelle Getty in 2008, Bea Arthur in 2009 and Rue McClanahan in 2010
When I'm sad, I always watch the golden girls and it always puts a huge smile on my face. I used to watch this with my Grandma when I was little and when I see her we still do. Good memories and still funny as hell! Through the years this show remains one of the most hilarious and political comedies and still remains extremely relivent.

GOLDEN GIRLS gets me through life. I need at least one episode a day to live! ♥️♥️♥️
I loved this show with my whole heart and soul. Am I the only one that loves the show yet gets sad when I watch it? I feel so silly being so emotionally attached but I cant help it! This was the best series to ever hit TV.
Yes the nostalgia hits hard with this one. Gives me ALL the feels
I thought l was the only one feeling sad and nostalgic...l think it's because three of them have left to go to the other side...and there's only B White left...They were the best...!! RIP to Bea, Rue and Estelle..
I get sad when the theme song starts, because I know I will never get so great friends like they are...
The Golden Girls really does transcend generations. My 17 yr old daughter absolutely loves it.
Hello Jenny
How are you doing today?
Still watching this on reruns. We need this kind of show now.
Absolutely brilliant, I’m watching this in the uk weekdays now, it’s back on and I love it, it’s hard to believe most of our golden girls have now gone, but they will remain in our memories for our lifetime. A huge fan from the UK 🇬🇧.
Me too.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SHOW!! I used to watch it and laugh so hard with my Mom and I never stopped!! So sad to learn of Betty Whites death, but she lived a BLESSED LIFE!! 99 years!! Wow!! Like someone else said....ALL THE GOLDEN GIRLS ARE TOGETHER NOW❤❤❤❤!!!
Hello Linda
How are you doing today?
The Golden Girls has been one of my favorite shows since age 17. I've seen every episode from season one to season seven's heartwarming finale. The Reunion special gives great insight into all the hilarious gags and fun that was created on set. It's sad that Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan, Estelle Getty and other cast members have since passed away. Bless you Betty White for continuing to bring laughter to audiences everywhere.
What did you think about Golden Palace?
The Golden Palace was just as funny, warmhearted and classy as The Golden Girls.
Genevieve Nowaczek Yep I liked it, too.
Genevieve Nowaczek You said it all right there. I still watch every re-run of the Golden Girls that I can find. I miss them all and thank the stars we still have Betty White. It'll be a very sad day when she departs from this world to join her Golden friends.
Thanks
Estelle realizing she can't curse was too cute and hilarious 😂
Estelle And Rue McClanahan was my favorites on the Golden girl The Because they were the most funny 😅😅❤❤
Bea Arthur actually grew up only an hour from where I live. Unfortunately, I'm only 42 and I never got the chance to meet her, nor either of our beloved TV friends, but it is pretty neat to know that I have walked on the same grounds, that our "Dorthy," has walked.
The golden girls is so golden that I'm still watching it in 2019!! It'll soon be 2020 and I'll still be watching 😊🥰
It is June 2020 & we will be watching this show forever! It just never gets old! Making us laugh with funny dialogue & both the best & most dynamic actresses ever guarantee that this show will play in reruns “FOREVER!” Good humor never gets old!
@ nwanah chidiebere I still watch it as well. I appreciate it more as an adult than I did when I was younger.
dec 2021, soon taking it into 2022 :)
I will never stop watching. This is the best show ever. They were feminists without saying it aloud.
"Please, all three of you without makeup is enough to scare anyone!" God I love this show!
I can here my mother laughing. These girls were the best on TV. Love them to the moon and back !!

Loved the Golden Girls. I could have a depression bout going on and turn this show on and BOOM...laughter, tears...the whole gambit....and I felt refreshingly human again. Thank you Ladies and to the writers for this special kind of medicine.
Proud owner of all 7 seasons! My favorite show ever!

Me and my mom quote golden girls so frequently its unreal. Everytime i make pigs in a blanket i think of pigs in a svengeblüten... lol we have basically adopted Rose's made up Scandinavian words as another language in our household
Everyone was great but I'm sorry Bea was the best. Her face expressions alone was it lol
Desiree Hodge my fav. character too but finding out that bea didn't really like betty effected my perceptions of the group.
I've always heard how mean and bitchy Bea was irl. Def changed how I watch her. Excellent timing, excellent actress, but the rumors or even other interviews, make me dislike her even more than for just being a "balloon popper" as she said at the beginning.

When I was in college, my boyfriend used to talk about (complain-ish?) how one of the few tv channels the guys could get to work in the dorms played the Golden Girls show several hours a day....and yet...they kept watching!!! That's how great the show was. The 90's boys didn't stand a chance. 😄

The last show aired in 1992. I was about 25 and had lost my grandmother 3 years prior. This was her favorite show. She was working as a piano teacher out of her home well into her 70's.
