Thousands of dollars to sample sounds onto a $90 sampler to make a song. I love it! Subbed!
I really love all of the pocket operators but TE really knocked it out of the park with the PO-33 K.O! It really is totally competent at making complete tracks on its own. I made an entire album with just that device. Took me only a week because I was so inspired by it.

Because of your first review, I got myself a PO-33 K.O. Great device, already had some fun few hours playing it. You don't really need anything else than the PO-33 + any device that can output sound and go on the internet to make great beats.

Yeah, might be a cool idea. Might do something like that soon. Busy with a lot of projects at the same time so might take a while. But a cool idea.
Can you export it as an mp3?
@@DJPashn no, you can't export as MP3, you save your track by plugging the KO output jack into something that can record audio, e.g. a computer with a sound card. Once it's recorded on your computer, you can then export it from there into whatever export format your software supports.

Just got my po 33 a week ago and I’ve been binging videos on it. I can’t seem to get my progressions right but I’ve been playing it on transit ,on my work breaks .., basically keep it in my pocket at all times haha
If your low on cash and still want new hardware the pocket operators are fun. I love the sound of the Juno. Nice synths bro and love the advice and tricks. Love this chill groove when the pads come in over the bass.

With all due respect you're not 'using nothing but the PO-33', but to be fair, this is one of the best PO-33 videos on youtube Mr Enrique Martinez, so thank you for sharing. I've just bought one and am about to take the plunge being only a part time dabbler in music production. I have the PO-35 and for me recording anything feels like I need a thrid hand. Great video, also chaining all the patterns together 1-16 is and pressing play is a good way to erase all patterns.

Hey man, I got them on Sweetwater. I think I like the 33 better cause I can sample into it. I have yet to link them up, but i bet that would be cool. The 20 is nice but only for chiptune sounding stuff.

Enrique Martinez Music Absolutely. I changed it up slightly to make it my own while experimenting , but otherwise the same. You can hear a bit of the background noise, like the sound of the keys being hit, but it’s minimal in the final track. It’s great that you didn’t talk over the sounds themselves when you sampled them. This was a great walkthrough for a novice and I hope you do more of them. It’s all so daunting at first, but ultimately simple once you know what to do. It would be a cool series, “15 minute beat.” Sample a few things, walk through creating the beat, then jam a bit.
I just bought the KO, can't wait for it to come. I think any musician could use this when they lack motivation.

Yea man! glad i helped, it's a good way to fill the sonic spectrum in a song quickly and easily.
I like the p.o especially when i record my track into the multitrack and add other Instruments to it and eq and compression always helps i usually record the p.o on two tracks and pan one left and one right to try get a bit of stereo back into it im upgrading to the novation circuit rhythm next week but will still use the ko ..i seem to use the ko alot to add little bits and bobs to other tracks iv made like 303 patterns and voice samples ect its a great little tool its nice through the nts1 too

Loved this tutorial. Would be great if you could a tutorial with an available sample pack so that we can load your samples onto our PO33. I was able to press record at the relevant points anyway and managed to get something similar.

I'd love to see someone demo real time play/ performance. Live sampling and performing . If this can not be done I may stick with sample looper , instead of trying a sample sequencer.

Thank you Ricky for the videos, always informative. One quick note though, as per my experience there is no 'transient' detect feature in the PO33 (like there is no such feature in the OP1). To me that is the main drawback of both units, where slicing is the worst implemented function. Other than that the PO33 is really a nifty little unit, easy to carry along, fun to use, with an atrocious/lovable low quality sound (and I don't mean the integrated speaker!). I appreciate that you pointed out the mono feature of each 'sound' whereas you can't layer to slices in the sequencer (like a tracker). In fact, if you think about it, the PO33 is the packaging of a single sample instrument of the PO1 with a Pattern sequencer of 16 steps. The advantage of the PO33 over the OP1 is that you can have have one pattern per instrument and play 16 patterns simultaneously (if you have 16 instruments). That's a feature I wish we had in the OP1, actually I was in shock when I discovered that you could not 'link' a pattern set to an instrument on the OP1, or play 2 patterns simultaneously on two separate patches.

got me sold on this thing. could you see this working well in tandem with a DAW like FL12? playing samples on the computer to record them into the PO-33?
Totally, especailly because things would have such tight timing using a daw, it'll make it easier to slice later.

MHz hey man! Good questions. You only have one shot mode and you can adjust the start and end point. It exports all data at once nothing can be separated :(

These “house” samples are “hip-hop” samples haha. I can’t remember where I got these :/ but you can probably find some just looking up more things than just house :)
Hi! Great video. It shows that with some creativity and interest you can make a song using 70 dollar pocket sized equipment. I was wondering if there was an app like this sampler/sequencer preferably for android, to try out if creating music is for me. Thanks!

Anyone knows how to remove last effects added while holding write (tune and filters)
I tried with FX+16 but its only remove FX saved and I m screwed with this
Thanks Korokh, to remove FX hold FX and button 16. To remove the tune and filters; Hold down Write and move the filter a little bit then keep holding write while NOT touching the knob again until it runs through the whole sequence and it'll save it as just a single value. Then repeat the same for tune. Happened to me before haha

is the feature to record across multiple patterns in a single recording unique to the KO, or can they all do that? I have the arcade and Im not sure that I know how to enable that feature.
im pretty sure its availible in most POs. Some of the older ones lack certain features though

Watching your po-33 vids, noticed that the kick recorded here is much cleaner (deeper, less noise) than the one you recorded from your 3000. I wonder why that is?
As I type this message to you I'm trying to make a beat from Scratch myself. I did a factory reset thinking it will help with my problem. When Recording, I don't hear a metronome (Click). So my question is how do you turn it on or how do you turn the vol. up if it's on and I just can't hear it. Any help will be great. Thanks for your help and this video!
Newrorican! There actually isn't a metronome on the PO-33. I just use a Hi-hat sound on steps 1,5 ,9 ,& 13. That way it sounds like a click. Also the volume is adjusted when you hold down the BPM button and select levels 1-16 using the numbered buttons below.
Thanks for the reply. I'm happy to tell you that there is a metronome on the PO-33. I figured it out! The Magic Sequence is [Press: Record / Write / BPM] . This will turn On & Off the metronome click. I know right mind blowing!! Again thanks for your reply..... glad I could help... ;)
enrique having owned the po 33 for a long time now (yourself) would you say your sound quality inside the device has degraded in any way? I heard these get more noisey over time. I know they're noisey inititally, but relatively.
Mmm maybe I'm just paying attention to it more now. Also changing the batteries helped me get a "better" sound again. But nothing that has been massively noticable

Honestly, sometimes.. but it never really bothered me because I have hum with a few machines and I guess I’ve just gotten used to it haha.

What's up Boyan, there's no quick undo :( So it's going through each pattern and clearing the spots where you entered in notes.

I just recently bought a PO 33, so this might of been a new patch. I've been watching all the tutorial YT vids on recording samples into your PO. One thing I noticed is that they all instruct you to hold rec and the pad you'd like to sample to continuously until your done. I discovered that you really only have to hold rec, then press the pad you want to sample to only once while holding the rec button. The PO will start to rec once it senses a trigger. This will free up your other hand. I'm assuming this will work with all POs that can record a sample input. I apologize if this is something the community has already learned. :)

great video. but turn some lights on. youtube's compression algortithim ends up darkening your video after uploads. so try boosting that brightness before you record.
