Oh hey, this is my scene. My first PM regional, actually.
One of the PM pools didn't finish so the final pot ended up being split 33 ways, so we didn't even walk away with 15 bucks.
That's was a long 3 hour drive back home. Didn't go to another large event until Riptide after this lol

Also i too was at apex 2015 and learned that the actual reason the fire alarm went off was cause someone hung up their towels on the sprinklers for some reason and it flooded the entire floor they were on. I was in the room directly next to that person and all my clothes for the weekend got soaked.

Imagine thinking 30 people for a weekly is low. Bruh come to Kentucky. Our regionals are filled with like 20 people from Lexington, 20 from Louisville, like 5 goblins who make the trek out of Mordor (Eastern KY), and then Butter, wherever the hell Butter is from.

As a south carolina smash player myself, I would say that the community has gotten a good bit better since this tournament. This year has been pretty big for the tournaments with weekly tournaments happening on Mondays and Wednesdays and the smash Arcadian coming up in September, the smash community is super cool and are just some of the coolest people in the smash scene today
hey, at least the splitter didn't come with a power source 10x stronger than intended that fried the stream set up and two monitors, and left the whole venue smelling like burned circuits.
I'm so glad we don't commentate in suits anymore

My local bar tournament runs some setups on the back patio outside every week, weather permitting. It's super nice and adds to the overall chill vibe.

I think tournaments in 2015 were worse than usual is just new people coming into the scene because Smash 4 and the Melee doc with not much experience, plus the influx of new people due to the new gamr
