Incredible. Put this on when I went to bed. I never reached the end! Wonderful performance. Purity, no false notes or instruments. Perfectly balanced in dynamics and sound. Brilliantly played. Well done. Another example how beautiful the saxophone can be in classical style.
We performed an arrangement I made of Whitacre's 'Alleluia' (October), under the condition that the sheet music and the audio not be shared or distributed. I'm sad that the copyright arrangements for that piece made it so, but it was an enchanting experience nonetheless. This reminds me of that time :)
Fantastic performance. I almost passed this up thinking saxophones couldn’t possibly do justice to this Whitacre choral masterpiece. Well, I was dead wrong. This performance is flawlessly beautiful in every way. Tone, intonation and blend are beautiful.
You are very good and Whitacre is really brilliant! My choir sang "Sleep" during one of our last performances. Write this in the search: you will love it for sure! Corale Novarmonia - Sleep (E. Whitacre)
As an aspiring high school saxophonist with plans to study music in the fall, I can't tell you how happy this makes me. The reason I play music is to create vivid moments such as this. Phenomenal performance, very exposed. It must have been breathtaking sitting in that hall with all of those overtones swirling around. I enjoyed listening to this arrangement very much, so I went ahead and transposed it out for myself. I'd love to know how much of it I got right. Is there anyway that I could take a look at it? I will certainly keep track of this group, and I look forward to their future performances. Perhaps, an arrangement for Frank Ticheli's Sanctuary?
Beautiful. Right now I go to a University that doesn't take saxophone as a "serious" instrument especially in the classical world. Maybe it'd be nice to go to Eastman instead. i'd love to be able to play alongside of musicians that also take it seriously.
we did this song my senior year of high school in choir and i appreciate this arrangement a lot. first of all it's in a key much higher than the original which must be difficult but i know nothing about band instruments so i couldn't say for sure. second of all the key that it's in makes the song have this really dreamy, flowy feeling to it that, in my opinion, the original key doesn't have. this was very beautiful
honestly, i think that's like 20% microphone and the rest is them... their tone is absolutely amazing and gorgeous. Their musicality is hard to beat. They understand how to bring emotion to their performances and that's what I admire about them.
I don't think so. Eastman likes to keep their arrangements to themselves. If you want to get the music, I would literally just find a musician with perfect pitch and hire him/her.

Absolutely beautiful. I played this at Shell Lake music camp with Eugene Rousseau!

This is sublime!!! Such an amazing performance! Heavenly!
You guys, this is just beautiful. Absolutrly beautiful. It took a second for my ears to adjust because the song is transposed. But....wow. Just, wow.
pure beauty

is it possible you would happen to know where the find this arrangement id love to play this thank you so much
Only wish this was in a lower key, but very very great job!
I guess it was adjusted so that the range can be reached by the saxophone
It can be done in the original key (Eb).
Did the arrangement get published somewhere?

Because I am 80 years old I would have eliminated some of the dissonance as s soporific. Eric likes a few too many semitones for my bedtime taste.
