@@hypnotherapy69 this is actually not true and courts nowadays do take into account the well-being of the child. The idea that men never get full custody is just not true. What happens is that men typically don't fight for full custody because they think they're going to lose and so thus becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy. The other thing is that men typically are not the primary caregivers of children and so if the father is only spending about 10% of his time with the kids then he's probably going to get only 10% of custody. It just makes sense. There was actually a story where a guy was able to get full custody of his children simply because he was able to become a stay-at-home dad and spend so much time with the kids while he also made sure that his wife spent very little time with the kids by encouraging her to do things like Go back to school. He knew about the affair she was having and that was why he was doing it because he wanted to divorce her and get full custody. Since the baby has not been born yet he does actually have a chance of being able to get it custody since neither of them have been the primary caretakers at the time. The idea that men never get full custody is a misconception and is continuing to be a self-fulfilling prophecy because men don't fight for that custody. Plenty of men have gotten half or even full custody but again if they don't fight for it they often don't get it.
This is not true actually. There have been examples of men who do get custody of their kids. The reason why you don't see it too often is for a number of reasons including men not fighting for that custody because they believe they will not have it thus creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. The other thing is that it's also based off of caretaking so if a woman is spending 80% of the time with the kids and the guy is only spending 20%, then he's probably just going to get 20% of the custody. Just for reference of an entire month that is about 5 to 6 days. If you're wondering why men do not get the custody they want it's because of the caretaking. When men become the primary caretakers of the children then they do get full custody. The problem is that men do not want to be stay at home Dad's most of the time and they believe that simply doing a lot of actual work to employment is enough to be contributing to the house. It does not. Even when a mother is also working she also spends a lot of time doing things like taking kids to soccer practice or to doctor's appointments or just going out shopping and things like that. The other thing is that a good portion of divorce is initiated by women because a good portion of divorces are initiated by men cheating and courts are not going to side with a person who had an affair because they don't believe that that would be good for the child. There was actually a story on Reddit where a guy found out his wife was cheating and spent the next 10 or so years building up a relationship with his children and being the primary caretaker and since he was also able to convince his wife to go back to school she ended up not being a primary caretaker and thus he was able to get 100% full custody because of this.

OP talks abt not being a saint or selfless but literally did everything in her power to fix a problem the SIL started. I’ve had a child so I understand pregnancy hormones but the way SIL acted was so unjust and uncalled for that it could’ve all been avoided if she just kept her cool and talked abt it w her husband after the fact. I feel bad for the brother honestly having your sister have cancer and your wife uses that fact is an ultimatum is an immediate red flag and she should lose Cassie over that. He just needs to get a divorce. Also on a sidenote OP needs to not feel sorry for making things potentially bad for her brother because if she was going to do that in this situation, she would’ve done it eventually and it’s better for her to do it now then later on

Cancer is a serious thing and brothers wife downplayed it hardcore by saying “it’s just stage two”. I have been diagnosed with breast cancer twice....the first time I told my family.....no one helped and there was lots of drama....the second time a month ago I was diagnosed again I decided to not tell anyone and just me, a single mother, and my teenage son are dealing with it....he is my only support....I love him so very much ❤️... You are lucky to have your parents....my both parents are dead....I am grateful that you have help.... please don't upset or stress yourself with sister-in-law....stress is the worst thing for you....I pray that we both come out of treatment healthy and happy....lots of love ❤

Something similar happened in my family amongst cousins. We found out one was pregnant and one quickly dying within two days of each other. But we're not competitive and are decent human beings. We all know it's possible to feel two ways at once, happy for one and sad for the other. We looked at it as a beautiful "circle of life" kind of thing.
I feel so sad for your brother. He loves you dearly. If he doesn't stand his ground with his "wife" now... he'll live a life of pure hell. You stay focused on positivity and concentrate on YOU. I know the feeling of being young and having cancer. She should have her whole family checked for the brak1&2 breast cancer gene as well as ovarian cancer gene. When it shows up this young it usually is a sign that it's hereditary and yeah it usually runs in the family and certain types of ethnicities have it. You may not even know you're part of that ethnicity. if your family came from Europe and you didn't even know that's your part of it. A certain Germanic tribe carries it and you'll find out real quick if you're kazarian. But others also have it through heredity. I have a 76-year-old cousin who found out she inherited it from her mother they're indigenous American yeah but some Eastern seaboard Indigenous American tribes carry Western European ancient DNA it's 10,000 years old. That's how I was saved My geneticist figured out that's what I was I was adopted I didn't know where my DNA was from. He had me eat a DNA based diet and I went into full cure. I was literally at death's door chemo could not be used on me because no one had survived chemo with my DNA and blood type. My insurance would not give me chemo because they said it'll just kill you try and survive as long as you can That's all you've got They couldn't even give me blood transfusions because my rare blood type there's no blood in the bank for me If I have an emergency well they'll do what they can They tell me. As for My cousin by marriage yes her family's tribe carries it and all of the women test positive for the cancer gene. She lost her mother to it and her sister who refused to be tested died of metastasized breast cancer by the time she admitted she had it it was too late her sister had been born 30 years after her. At 76th my lovely cousin had her breasts removed her daughter's luckily have tested negative for carrying the gene. Her son refused to be tested he didn't care because his ex-wife didn't allow him to have a relationship with his daughters. His daughters turned on him and he said they get what they deserve. As for me my family carries cancer very heavily. So we are always warning the younger generation get tested for all genetic mutations we're now having ourselves checked for the blood clotting gene to many problems. We carry the rare type 1 diabetic adult gene and extreme diabetic dementia which starts and appears to look like schizophrenia but it's not. Too many lives ruined before they get diagnosed with the diabetes

“Just stage 2”. Does it matter what stage of cancer a person has? No. Cancer is still cancer no matter what stage you’re in. And things can change quickly, especially with breast cancer and it’s metastatic. It’s also scary as hell for everyone involved, but especially the person who has it. Her sister in law needs to realize that the world doesn’t revolve around her. Yes she suffered a loss and so did her husband. Nobody is denying that. Nobody should have to bury a child. There is no pain worse than losing a child. That said, to say that OP is going through is “just stage 2” was insensitive. And the lying and threatening to leave and take the child if the husband helps his sister who could also die is just wrong.
Really sad actually. I hope your sister -in-law does A LOT of maturing during her pregnancy bc it takes an ADULT to raise a child (children). Her immaturity may, down the road, drive her husband away. This would, in fact, damage the marriage, all by her own hands!

I’m so sorry that you got this diagnosis, but you need to stop thinking you may not have long to live. This one thing will help with your outcome like no other. I know cancer is scary as all hell, and I’m not saying to not having your feelings about it. But positivity is a key factor in beating it. There has been so many different new developments in the research for breast cancer specifically, so know you are in good hands. You need to actively tell yourself I’m going to get through this, and I am going to live out the remainder of my long life. And you need to become a fighter like you have never fought in your life. I’m speaking to you from experience as someone who has just spent the last year fighting and beating stage 2 breast cancer. Yes, treatment is difficult, but is a necessity. If I had any advice cut your hair in steps shorter and shorter so you don’t get so depressed about losing it. Know that it will grow back, but for now invest in caps because your head gets cold. Look into financial assistance at the cancer center you are being treated at because cancer is expensive. Look into grants as well. Do this before you get too far into treatment so you have the energy. Talk to the financial aid advisors at the cancer centers they will help you. Invest in a medical marjuana card the center will help you with this. Believe me it helps. If you don’t like to smoke there are alternatives, use them. Buy something called cold therapy mittens and bootys or chemo gloves and bootys. Wear those during chemo treatments and they should help with the neuropathy. Trust me on this, buy the gloves and bootys, don’t let them tell you they don’t work. Take your own blankets to chemo treatments preferably one that is electric, you’ll need it. Make sure your protein intake almost doubles during and especially after chemo treatment. Lastly and most importantly, be around those that will be positive around you. You would be surprised how much of a difference a positive environment makes when going through this. One last thing, it’s not your fault no matter what you think or how you start to feel, you did nothing to cause this, it just happened. Good luck and congratulations for your brother and sister in law on their baby. Don’t let the little bullshit get to you, you’ve got a bigger fight on hand. Save and reserve your energy for that and that alone right now.

What happens is that men typically don't fight for full custody because they think they're going to lose and so thus becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The other thing is that men typically are not the primary caregivers of children and so if the father is only spending about 10% of his time with the kids then he's probably going to get only 10% of custody. It just makes sense.
There was actually a story where a guy was able to get full custody of his children simply because he was able to become a stay-at-home dad and spend so much time with the kids while he also made sure that his wife spent very little time with the kids by encouraging her to do things like Go back to school. He knew about the affair she was having and that was why he was doing it because he wanted to divorce her and get full custody.
Since the baby has not been born yet he does actually have a chance of being able to get it custody since neither of them have been the primary caretakers at the time.
The idea that men never get full custody is a misconception and is continuing to be a self-fulfilling prophecy because men don't fight for that custody.
Plenty of men have gotten half or even full custody but again if they don't fight for it they often don't get it.
This is not true actually.
There have been examples of men who do get custody of their kids. The reason why you don't see it too often is for a number of reasons including men not fighting for that custody because they believe they will not have it thus creating a self-fulfilling prophecy.
The other thing is that it's also based off of caretaking so if a woman is spending 80% of the time with the kids and the guy is only spending 20%, then he's probably just going to get 20% of the custody. Just for reference of an entire month that is about 5 to 6 days.
If you're wondering why men do not get the custody they want it's because of the caretaking. When men become the primary caretakers of the children then they do get full custody. The problem is that men do not want to be stay at home Dad's most of the time and they believe that simply doing a lot of actual work to employment is enough to be contributing to the house. It does not.
Even when a mother is also working she also spends a lot of time doing things like taking kids to soccer practice or to doctor's appointments or just going out shopping and things like that.
The other thing is that a good portion of divorce is initiated by women because a good portion of divorces are initiated by men cheating and courts are not going to side with a person who had an affair because they don't believe that that would be good for the child.
There was actually a story on Reddit where a guy found out his wife was cheating and spent the next 10 or so years building up a relationship with his children and being the primary caretaker and since he was also able to convince his wife to go back to school she ended up not being a primary caretaker and thus he was able to get 100% full custody because of this.

I have been diagnosed with breast cancer twice....the first time I told my family.....no one helped and there was lots of drama....the second time a month ago I was diagnosed again I decided to not tell anyone and just me, a single mother, and my teenage son are dealing with it....he is my only support....I love him so very much ❤️...

Something similar happened in my family amongst cousins. We found out one was pregnant and one quickly dying within two days of each other. But we're not competitive and are decent human beings. We all know it's possible to feel two ways at once, happy for one and sad for the other. We looked at it as a beautiful "circle of life" kind of thing.

I know the feeling of being young and having cancer. She should have her whole family checked for the brak1&2 breast cancer gene as well as ovarian cancer gene. When it shows up this young it usually is a sign that it's hereditary and yeah it usually runs in the family and certain types of ethnicities have it. You may not even know you're part of that ethnicity. if your family came from Europe and you didn't even know that's your part of it. A certain Germanic tribe carries it and you'll find out real quick if you're kazarian. But others also have it through heredity. I have a 76-year-old cousin who found out she inherited it from her mother they're indigenous American yeah but some Eastern seaboard Indigenous American tribes carry Western European ancient DNA it's 10,000 years old. That's how I was saved My geneticist figured out that's what I was I was adopted I didn't know where my DNA was from. He had me eat a DNA based diet and I went into full cure. I was literally at death's door chemo could not be used on me because no one had survived chemo with my DNA and blood type. My insurance would not give me chemo because they said it'll just kill you try and survive as long as you can That's all you've got They couldn't even give me blood transfusions because my rare blood type there's no blood in the bank for me If I have an emergency well they'll do what they can They tell me. As for My cousin by marriage yes her family's tribe carries it and all of the women test positive for the cancer gene. She lost her mother to it and her sister who refused to be tested died of metastasized breast cancer by the time she admitted she had it it was too late her sister had been born 30 years after her. At 76th my lovely cousin had her breasts removed her daughter's luckily have tested negative for carrying the gene. Her son refused to be tested he didn't care because his ex-wife didn't allow him to have a relationship with his daughters. His daughters turned on him and he said they get what they deserve. As for me my family carries cancer very heavily. So we are always warning the younger generation get tested for all genetic mutations we're now having ourselves checked for the blood clotting gene to many problems. We carry the rare type 1 diabetic adult gene and extreme diabetic dementia which starts and appears to look like schizophrenia but it's not. Too many lives ruined before they get diagnosed with the diabetes

Why does everyone here want to escalate the situation? Op handled it perfectly and things were sorted with SIL and the brother.
“Just stage 2”. Does it matter what stage of cancer a person has? No. Cancer is still cancer no matter what stage you’re in. And things can change quickly, especially with breast cancer and it’s metastatic. It’s also scary as hell for everyone involved, but especially the person who has it. Her sister in law needs to realize that the world doesn’t revolve around her. Yes she suffered a loss and so did her husband. Nobody is denying that. Nobody should have to bury a child. There is no pain worse than losing a child. That said, to say that OP is going through is “just stage 2” was insensitive. And the lying and threatening to leave and take the child if the husband helps his sister who could also die is just wrong.
Really sad actually. I hope your sister -in-law does A LOT of maturing during her pregnancy bc it takes an ADULT to raise a child (children). Her immaturity may, down the road, drive her husband away. This would, in fact, damage the marriage, all by her own hands!

I’m so sorry that you got this diagnosis, but you need to stop thinking you may not have long to live. This one thing will help with your outcome like no other. I know cancer is scary as all hell, and I’m not saying to not having your feelings about it. But positivity is a key factor in beating it. There has been so many different new developments in the research for breast cancer specifically, so know you are in good hands. You need to actively tell yourself I’m going to get through this, and I am going to live out the remainder of my long life. And you need to become a fighter like you have never fought in your life.
I’m speaking to you from experience as someone who has just spent the last year fighting and beating stage 2 breast cancer. Yes, treatment is difficult, but is a necessity. If I had any advice cut your hair in steps shorter and shorter so you don’t get so depressed about losing it. Know that it will grow back, but for now invest in caps because your head gets cold. Look into financial assistance at the cancer center you are being treated at because cancer is expensive. Look into grants as well. Do this before you get too far into treatment so you have the energy. Talk to the financial aid advisors at the cancer centers they will help you. Invest in a medical marjuana card the center will help you with this. Believe me it helps. If you don’t like to smoke there are alternatives, use them. Buy something called cold therapy mittens and bootys or chemo gloves and bootys. Wear those during chemo treatments and they should help with the neuropathy. Trust me on this, buy the gloves and bootys, don’t let them tell you they don’t work. Take your own blankets to chemo treatments preferably one that is electric, you’ll need it. Make sure your protein intake almost doubles during and especially after chemo treatment. Lastly and most importantly, be around those that will be positive around you. You would be surprised how much of a difference a positive environment makes when going through this. One last thing, it’s not your fault no matter what you think or how you start to feel, you did nothing to cause this, it just happened. Good luck and congratulations for your brother and sister in law on their baby. Don’t let the little bullshit get to you, you’ve got a bigger fight on hand. Save and reserve your energy for that and that alone right now.
