I don't usually provide reviews, perhaps I am too busy, but this is one of the most meaningful reviews I have seen (out of many for different type of table saw). Thanks a lot
Nice video, thanks. I was curious as to how loud the motor is? Is it an induction motor ( the quiet ones ) or is it a universal motor ( the noisy/ whining type )? I have been using a Bosch job site saw for a number of years and it is a great saw but you definitely need to use hearing protection with that screecher...:)
Great review. I just got this saw as well and love it. Such an upgrade over my previous jobsite saw. Your shop looks amazing and way to rep all the Ridgid!!
@@m4drumsbuilds214 Still using this saw? I have mine and a buddy just offered me his TS3650 which has an all cast iron top, It has the motor on the back which would be easier to change out if it fails. Your shop looks like mine lol.....very Orange, including that radial arm saw!
I just setup this saw and my blade is off by over 0.01 of an inch relative to the miter slot! It is a shame they don't tell you how to make the adjustment. I appreciate you showing a little on that, but wish you gave more details. I hope there is enough room for adjustment to fix that large of an error.
Thanks for this great review. By chance, did you ever post a follow-up review after using this saw for a period of time? I have a 55 year old or older Craftsman 113.12200 table saw that I bought used probably 20 or more years ago. It has no dust collection to speak of, and the belt drive motor hangs out the back side. The extensions are heavy duty cast material, but the motor is only 1hp. I just found this Rigid R4560 on clearance for $399 if they still have it in stock about 40-50 miles away.
Sorry. I don’t have a follow up on this saw but I still regularly use it. Tough decision for you but I’ll add a few things that could help. This saw is holding up great. My main complaint is the dust collection on it isn’t the best and although the motor is greater than 1hp, It does seem a bit in the underpowered side. I do get it to bind up sometimes and I don’t feel I’m pushing the saw past its capability. This does not have a 220v option. I converted my R4512 to 220 and it made a noticeable difference. Overall I’m still pleased with it.
@@m4drumsbuilds214 Thanks for your prompt and thorough reply. I just placed an order to pick it up when that HD location notifies me it is ready for pickup after they open today. Hopefully they do actually have it. Did you make any upgrades to it? I have seen some owners mention possibly replacing some parts with pieces from the equivalent Delta model.
Hello and thanks for the review, My question is , in your opinion and after using this are you still happy with this unit??? how is the dust collection ??? thanks again
So far I am still happy! All my adjustments seem to be holding and it’s still operating like day 1. Dust collection isn’t great but acceptable to me. It is now hooked to an actual collector which moves much more air than a shop vac. There is a seam where the dust port connects that moves quite a bit and has a gap. Quick piece of tape to seal it up helped.
I know its too late but you should put the wheel on the shorter side. It will be easier to move up and down. Can you do an overview of your dial gauge holder? Would be interested in making one
Yes it could be easily flipped. I do like it on the current side because I rarely move my saw. I like the pedal tucked away and not in my high traffic side. Someone who may move the saw every time they use it may like better access! Maybe I’ll do a quick feature of the gauge!
I just saw this saw on sale for $399 at a nearby HD store. Video looks great and I could use the upgrade from my jobsite saw. Just wondering if you can provide the dimensions of the box so I can see if it will fit in my hatchback?
Just picked mine up today. Unboxing as I’m writing this. I crammed mine in the back of my wife’s Kia Telluride for size reference. It was pretty tight, but the 2nd row folds down which let me get it in there. The box is roughly 30.5” deep x 23” tall x 42.5” wide. I know it’s a month too late, but hope it helps 👍
My old craftsman blade would spin forever, went to clean up with the vacuum one time and stuck the nozzle In The blade .so a fast stop is important to me as well. Glade you did this video I have been looking serious at the Same one.
Great video. Very insightful. Did you assemble per instructions? I did not with mine and I got roasted about it on my channel lol. Love your content Great job.
2:00 there's these orange and lime green things on the wall that look like they'd take batteries and bits and make the assembly faster. Just saying. Thanks for the video
If you watch closely, he didn't actually pick up the main piece straight out of the box...that thing is HEAVY! I had to tip it on it's side and slide it out
0:59 shows him easily lifting the heavy part out of the box. The funny part is later, where the woman pretends to help turn it upright. Apparently after he read the manual warning that two people are required.
Using the rail measurements, is it also 1/8” larger (off) whatever the red line is showing. For instance if I needed to rip a board to 6”, if I land the marker at 6” the piece would in fact be 6 and 1/8”… this is annoying… I’m ready to take it off and make sure I didn’t install it wrong, help y’all! Lol😅
Have you adjusted the window the red line is on? Set the fence manually to that 6” mark. Make some cuts and double check they are exact. Then leave the fence locked there and adjust the window so the red line is on 6”. Do this for both sides.
Thanks for the review, in market for new table saw. I'd like to see the actual process to align the cutting and knife blades and how much of a hassle it is or isn't. Another channel with a guy who talks in an irritating fake voice, giggles and needless continued pauses that no regular guy sounds like, nor could I listen to anymore said it took him a day to align the cutting blade and 4-5 hours for the knife blade. You said you got saw blade to 2 thou, was that the best it could align to, was it that hard to get it at 0 or did you just consider your last adjustment to 2 thou just fine and no need to go further.
Hello! For blade alignment that is as close as I could get but also I find that tolerance acceptable for this level of saw. It doesn’t have true blade adjustment, the bolts that are used to align are counter sunk so they try to self align when tightened. I was able to to get some adjustment out of it but not absolutely perfect. The riving knife adjustment is very easy, it is the same as I have seen on other saws. 2 set screws to set the tilt of the knife and 2 to tighten it down once you have the alignment set.
@@m4drumsbuilds214 So wonder why the dont detail it in the manual, its probably because technically it doesn't exist. I wish I could get a really detailed view of how that looks and works mechanically before buying. You got 2 thou, others due to tolerances may be better or far worse. Thanks much though!
Don't know why they call it a contractor saw........ you cant just pick it up ...put in truck and take to a construction site! The smaller ones are contractor saws!
Because they used to, before the smaller ones existed. And before that, they took radial arm saws to construction sites. And before that, they took miter box saws and rip and crosscut hands saws to construction sites. And before that, they took offset hewing axes and barn beam milling machines to construction sites. Etc etc etc.
My apologies, next time I’ll try going page by page through the instruction manual like a teacher reading from a textbook. Nice review! You are the first person I’ve seen that shows the bolts to adjust the squareness of the blade to the miter slot. Kudos to you! .
Thanks! I assume that’s because it’s not in the manual. I was able to get some adjustment out of it so why not show it!

I sure do! It’s been holding up well. A friend of mine has a TS3650 and it’s been great but he has done a motor repair. Still a great saw
If you raised the riving knife all the way up, then you can easily remove the guard. The black arm of the guard needs to be parrel to the table.
Yes! I didn’t realize I had it in the down position and it was driving me nuts! Good catch, I’ll put that in the follow up video!
Can you put up a video on how you made that gauge? I have the harbor freight gauge but not sure how to setup it up for measurements
Do you still have the saw? How do you like it?
I'm very interested in this saw. What are the hand wheels made of? They look like plastic.
They are a metal wheel with plastic handle and knob.
Dealing with a 15 amp high output motor did you have to have a separate circuit and did you use a different gauge extension plug. Thank you

Have you done anything to smooth out the fence rail to prevent wear on the nylon sliders?
I haven’t, honestly it hasn’t been a problem.

I like mine but will be taking that dust collection off and build something else with a 4 inch hose.Slivers get in there and plug it up.
Hi, What voltage do you use, 110 or 220?
The table is cast iron how do you stop it from rusting. Great review
I use paste wax on all my cast iron equipment. Really keeps everything smooth and rust free.

Do you know if the fence compatible rigid 4512/4520?
Many have done it but it does require some modifications.
@@m4drumsbuilds214 I'll pass on mods, but the 4560 is probably compatible with delta fences/extension.
