My association with Pandit Anindo ji goes back to 1988 when I contacted him over phone with an invitation to accompany my Guru Late Pandit Manohar Chimote for a solo Samvadini ( harmonium) vadan. Anindo ji very gracefully accepted the invitation. Thereafter on behalf of Samvadini Foundation, whenever i invited Anindo ji to accompany my Guru Pt. Manohar Chimote, he came over without any hesitation. Hence between 1988 and 2005, 5 to 6 such concerts took place and each concerts was a remarkable in itself. What i have observed from his tabla accompaniment is his intuitive grasp of the mood of the artiste, his ability to tailor his vadan according to bal or chhand of a bandish or gat that an artiste is going to render and his sense of modesty to restrain himself so as to allow the main artist to express himself fully- a trend which is not very common among the tabla players.. Pandit Manohar Chimote used to time again express his happiness and joy of playing samvadini with table accompaniment of Anindo ji.My congratulations to disciples of Anindo ji for bringing out this video clip for the knowledge of music lovers at large.
