Thanks for sharing your life with us I’m 51 & can relate - turn 52 in May Life is rough but we have to keep living & enjoy every day with family & friends 💙🇵🇷☕️🥃
I just found your channel. I'm 73 and am divorced. I'm learning how to live by myself for the first time in my life. I was in a band in the 60's and also played bass. In the last year I have lost 65 pounds and have lost all my clothes. At my age, my options seem to be limited. Your channel has been very helpful and has given me some hope and confidence. Keep up the great work.
After the end of my 14 year marriage, I purposefully went out to eat by myself. It was weird at first, but it was only weird in my head. I started to see people I haven't seen in DECADES, and we would spark up conversations about old Little League stories, or whatever. It was probably the best thing for my mental health. Cannot recommend enough. Get out there guys. Be social again. Take care of yourself. Nobody else well, because nobody else can.
@@40OverFashion men need to remember that they are part of a community. In an LTR or a marriage, it's easy to lose sight of who you are, and what you bring to the table. John I Always love your Q and A's. Love your style and demeanor. Also love your Honesty about being Happy or not. Keep up your awesome work and can't wait for the next video. Stay in the Light. 🙌🏾💜
Thanks for the video and I am glad to hear you're doing well. Also, not everyone going through therapy admits it, for fear of social rejection. Kudos to you for saying so.
Thank you for another Amazing video! I left a very abusive woman after being with her for almost 30 years and married for 25... I Love my new Life and most importantly, I've learned that it's ok to love me! In the past 2 years, since leaving her, I've doubled my income and become debt free. I've embraced Single Life and learned to not let a woman define me and that I can only love another as much as I allow myself to love me (without becoming a narcissist). Keep up the good work and positive attitude. You and I are a lot alike! I grew up in the 70s and 80s, played bass in a rock band too! I share a lot of your values and outlook on life. I also live in SoCal. So, props to you brother and stay joyful.
Hi John. Shawn is killing me with the Airplane question 😂. As for wine, now that 2 Buck Chuck is $3.49 I am switching back to beer. Thanks for the video.
Hello John. Thank you for the Q&A in this video. Glad you are doing well. You are certainly an inspiration for many of us. I just turned 62 years last month and I feel I can do better now in many aspects of my life. Thanks for all your wonderful videos and encouragement for all of us over 40! Wishing you all the best! Cheers
John, next to you modeling your clothes, this is one of my favorite videos as it offers insight into who you are. John, you nailed it when you said that you would consider going into the the field of therapy. I have often referred to you as the fashion therapist. Based upon your demeanor, personality, reassuring, non-judgmental voice you would be perfect as a therapist or life coach. I am convinced that is who you are. Bravo! Very well done!
Loved the questions. I also love the watch you are wearing. I remember watching your house for awhile back. I like what seems to be a more minimalist style, so your clean uncluttered style is nice.
John, This was such a great video. I can honestly say that you would make a great therapist. I myself am a Psy.D ( clinical psychologist) and can affirm that you have a natural talent for connecting with people. Thanks for all you do.
For David who asked what to do after a long term relationship breakup. As Mae West said, “The best way to get over someone is to get under someone else”
Just want to let you know I love your videos and I’m very thankful I never cared about the finer things in life until I matured. Your videos help me understand what is in and how to wear it properly. Thank you deeply
Hi John. I'm glad to hear that you are a fellow Home Goods and At Home shopper too. Our Home Goods opened in our town almost a year ago and sort of filled the void after Pier One closed it's doors. I go there at least twice a week during the Holiday seasons Halloween through Easter because they are always getting new merchandise. The At Home store is about 50 miles away (also an old K-mart. Must be a thing with them. ) so I don't get there as often . Peace. : )
Thanks. I enjoyed watching this as I’m in exactly the same situation as you- adjusting to living alone for the very first time and searching for happiness.

Best thing to do after a long relationship is to travel to a place that you always wanted to go. Iceland, Geneva, Prague, Slovakia, Hungary and Asian countries are great because they offer a complete change of environment, well of course if you’re not from there, but you get the gist of it. Go to a place that you don’t speak their native language. This becomes a shock to your experiences and can break you out of the worst of the end relationship funk.

Totally agree. One thing I really like about this channel is that he doesn’t drag on into a depressive state about how horrible relationships can be. Instead, he focuses on the positive and how to best move forward and built a great life. It’s quite refreshing as I’m in a similar circumstance. And no, I’ve never been to a Turkish prison, and I didn’t have the fish for dinner ;)
Thank you Scotty! Waaay too many red-pill woman haters out there right now. Instead of blaming women, they need to take a long look in the mirror. I take ownership for my own issues and keep putting one foot in front of the next. :)
@@40OverFashion Matt Stafford and his wife are really good examples of what to look for in a relationship. She has been there to support him through a very tough job and a hard move to Los Angeles after so many years in Detroit, and he’s been there through her brain cancer. So many red pill channels go on and on about horrible examples of women (and there are many), but they never identify examples of success stories of a north star which young men could use as an example. Yes, there are inherent flaws in the system which work against men (especially family law), however, it’s equally important for us men to look in the mirror, identify our flaws, and work to become the best versions of ourselves. Glad to hear you’re doing well!
Watching this now.... looked forward to all of the questions!! Haha Totally laughed out loud at Shawn's questions... aka Airplane movie quotes. Thank you so much for taking the time for this! I had to edit this comment... Holy Shit a Steelheart picture!! We are one my friend... hahah Huge hair metal fan.... I am going to send you a message on Instagram of a coffee table book you need to purchase.
Very good video John ! Got quick question for You . My 12 years married anniversary is on February 27th ! We both 50 years old . Any suggestions for good present ! Thx
I'm 63. I have recently noticed that people on social media now define single as not currently in a relationship. For hundreds of years, it has meant not married. Is this new definition the result of the under 40 crowd's changing words, or should I change with the times?
Yep..... I totally missed the "Airplane" reference. :(

Really good episode! Thank you for sharing. Do you belong to any wine clubs that wineries offer?
I'm currently holding three memberships.
I like your wall unit/bookshelf. Who makes that? Moving and need new furniture

Very good video John ! Got quick question for You . My 12 years married anniversary is on February 27th ! We both 50 years old . Any suggestions for good present ! Thx
Tough one.... I might choose an experience over a physical gift. Or maybe a little bit of both.
Hi. My car. My dream car that got away, and I'd love to get back is 1976 Cadillac El Dorado, convertible.
Nice!
John , you are lovely guy :)
Thank you!
I'm 63. I have recently noticed that people on social media now define single as not currently in a relationship. For hundreds of years, it has meant not married. Is this new definition the result of the under 40 crowd's changing words, or should I change with the times?
I guess it all means the same thing. :)
@@40OverFashion thanks, but for years and years, if a guy had a very steady girlfriend, he was still "single"
