I built myself a heating system using just 3 items: Ammo Can, Copper Coil, and Garden Hose. I used this off-grid heater to stay warm underneath the snow while I slept.

I just said to my husband, “Wonder what “The Outsider” is doing?” Well, now I know!! So happy to have a new video to watch while I enjoy my Saturday morning coffee.
I was thinking the same thing this morning, too!
Me to
Good morning Outsider, and thank you for an amazing adventure. I remember that ammo can heater. Ok, I’m 74 and living vicariously through you for quite some time now. I owe you dude. Life is good.
Two thumbs up from a 77 year old!
And a 76 year old . Do you thin the heater will work with a well ventilated shed...the closet I get to outdoors these days😊
I came across your channel after you started the cabin .
I've enjoyed every video since.
I appreciate your expression of your faith. GOD bless you.
I am very happy to have you back. It was an interesting trip. I hope you and your family are well
My daughter climbers the mountains in Washington State and sleeps in snow caves a lot. She's super hard core.
The outsider and the outdoor boys dropping a vid on a Saturday morning? Amazing.
I’ve watched a lot of UA-cam over the years, from influencers to sports to gaming. I can honestly say that I think this is my favorite channel I’ve ever come across. I’m no outdoorsman or craftsman, but there’s something so purely entertaining and enjoyable about watching someone so skillful craft something amazing.
I’ve been watching your journey on the cabin from very early on, and genuinely look forward to every new episode.
I hope you and your family are well, and thank you!
Before I even watch the video please let me say, Welcome back. & Thank you.
What an awesome episode!!!! I’m going to implement this idea to keep my chickens warm… even perhaps a greenhouse!!!
Your method of determining the thickness of the walls is great. What I've done is break branches into about 1' lengths and insert them all around the outside of the hut. Then I simply dig until I hit a branch. Great video.
Where have you been it is so nice to see you back I think everybody on UA-cam wondered where you have been
Thanks for checking in, my friend! 🙂 I took some time off to be with my family, but now I'm back to work at the cabin. There's a dying maple tree that's been leaning over the cabin slightly, so it looks like my next job will be to take it down...in the next episode. Until then!
Can’t wait to see another cabin video soon! Praying for your family!
The heating system is the bomb of the whole experience!
Add one of them all night log feeding ramps to the campfire.
What a wonderful treat to see you again after so long. Since you are usually so open about this and since you did not mention anything about the rest of the family, I'm going to take it that your loved ones are doing well. That is a relief given your long absence from SM.
It must be a special type of snow that you look for when building your shelter cause every time as a kid that my brothers and I tried to make something like this, we always ended up at the bottom of a lot of collapsed snow (and of course loved it totally...lol)
Hopefully it won't be so long before we get to share your next adventure. Take care and thanks.
Wow!!! So creative. Nicely done.
Love your creative idea for a snow camping heating system! I used to camp in the snow at high altitude, in a tent. All I used was a thin Mylar emergency blanket under my old down sleeping bag and a cheap tarp under the tent. The snow under the tent created the cushion. Now that I am older I love your heating idea. It is really genius.
I always love watching your videos! All the best to you and your family! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍👍👍😀💕💕💕🌸🌸🌸❄️❄️❄️
Thanks for sharing some fun McGyvering! Stay safe, and god bless.
You had me at MacGuiver!

I love your touch of flare with the night time lighting. You are a true creator. Great job on the heating system as well.
OMG! Everything you do is perfection! Your eye for details, your engineering and craftsmanship are next level. And then, to top it all off, your create an ambiance and a beauty to all you do! Thank you for sharing this snow hut video....even though I didn't realize I needed it! I have always wondered about the skill it would take to make just the right one! And you did it! As always, gratitude, and God bless!
Your videos are my UA-cam favorites!
WOW 😂!! We have missed you and your adventurous spirit! What an awesome ❄ ❄snow storm!! Welcome back!! Trust your wife & daughter are doing great! Hope your new cabin fits the bill for your sweet family! Keep up the vids..we love em!!

I’ve had a Henson razor for a couple of years now and it is amazing, the best shave I’ve ever had. If I lost it tomorrow I’d get another one right away.

Hey there Mr. Outsider how have you and the family been ??? Been Praying for you all this winter time here !!! No snow yet for me in Illinois except the 1 time we had snow !!! But other wise that is a grand hut there to sleep in !!! We would sleep as kids in a hut we would make then Mom was always watching out for us girls as we slept in the hut with our sleeping bags !!!
Thanks for sharing.
Another great survival lesson. Thank you... Be safe....
2:50 That scene instantly brought an old man to tears. Happy tears, I'm glad to say. It triggered flashbacks to childhood days of digging tunnels and snow forts/igloos in the snow drifts, all fortified with lots of snowballs for battle of course. lol Probably the happiest time ever, great memories. There's a specific detail , though, that might be very helpful for you. The inside needs rubbed. You need to create an ice barrier on the walls and ceiling by rubbing moisture into the snow. Think of it like painting the walls of your house and sealing the surfaces, making them easier to clean. To prove a point, try burning a snowball with a Bic lighter and watch what happens. Yes, it does start melting, but it also starts protecting the softer snow behind it. Back then no heat was used. Several old socks were put over one hand(make-shift glove) and dipped in water, then rubbed on the walls to create the ice layer. Once the layer is made, the drips disappear by running down the walls instead. The smoother the better. With you having heat inside, the moisture comes natural and starts dripping. Just rub it smooth. 👍
Nice to see you.
Good to see you again. I've been worried about you and your family. May god bless you and your family. Thanks for a great show too

I'm deeply impressed with this highly practical wildlife solution!
Great! Genius! Greetings Jens from Hanover Germany
Learn something new every day ,good job outsider 😊😀💜
If you haven’t been told toda, your amazing! Love you.
You could glue foam insulation on to the box so to save from loosing heat into the outside air.
Awesome video!
Happy to see a video, missed watching you doing something amazing.
More cabin build!
That is an awesome heating system 😃
Stay warm out there...
That was a cool experience to watch, but you were warm and comfortable 😂.

Welcome back!!
Very ingenious.
Thank you for sharing your trip with us all. Its good to see you back.
Hugs and good wishes to your family.
Peace to all ! 😊
This was great! I haven't had a good snow hut in years. I used to make them up in the mountains in Montana all the time, they're actually pretty comfortable and you don't have to worry about them caving in when it snows hard during a blizzard. Better than a tent. I always did igloo style huts, where I could build a fire inside but I love this idea! I never even thought of something like this.
I was looking forward to your next video. Thanks for sharing. Takes me back to the days I did winter camping with my scout troop. 🌻🤟🌻👍🌻
This was amazing to watch. Turning a little snow cave into a cozy, warm cabin for the night.❤ Great video.
Major skills !! 😄
Hello Outsider 👋🏼 Hope all is well with you and your family. Praying 🙏🏼 for ya brother, God Bless
😁👍🏼
AMAZING!!!
Thanks. 😁👍🏼
Central Kentucky, last snow deep enough for huts was '92. Thank you. God Bless, stay safe and warm.
What a fantastic idea and well explained, hope you have a toastie evenings sleep 👍
Outstanding
Absolute legend and genius. I love all your videos 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
That was amazing!!! Love all your videos, so happy when you make another one. God bless!
Looks amazing. Really love the idea of the heating system. Instead of a campfire, have you considered using a wooden stove connected to the coils, that you could keep inside a cave or a cabin? I would imagine it would make you less dependent of the weather, so you could be safely inside the cabin during a winter storm.😊
You are a real man… i am too soft for this one! Ha! Love it.
What fun! I wish I had someone like you around here. :)
Brilliant!❤
