ICE FISHING in Washington State! Trout Catch & Cook Adventure w/ UNDERWATER FOOTAGE!

- In this episode I road tripped to East Washington with my camper van and went ICE FISHING in Washington State for the very first time! I had no idea where to ice fish in Washington, so luckily I met up with Samong Yang Outdoors, another amazing Washington UA-camr, and his friend Andrew, who knew exactly where to go! After a brief lesson on how to ice fish for trout, I got some underwater footage of bites, and then finally caught my first ice fish with my home built Bullet Lure! Following an amazing time on the ice was a delicious Trout Catch & Cook back at camp. I was born in seattle and moved to minnesota in 95. Growing up fishing trout and salmon with my dad was always a good time at pine lake near sammamish. Well since living in mn theres trout here but nothing like we have back in Wa. There is a lake near me here where they stock rainbows and was able to go ice fishing for them there. I tell you what, we usually fish for walleye, burbot, and pike here and after catching trout ice fishing its an unbelievable experience. So I know exactly how you felt when you caught that beauty, its a great feeling! Love watching your channel and videos of the pacific northwest there. Gets me excited for my annual trip back to seattle every december, was able to go squid fishing on my last trip which ive never done so that was a fun bucketlist checkoff item for me. I just recently came across your channel and let me tell you, you and Samong are freakin legit! im from kitsap but im currently at WSU so when i cant go out and frolick amongst the bears, deer and trout i binge watch Washington fishing and hunting videos. It's pretty cool seeing ice fishing up in the NE here. I'm constantly hunting up around there and i didnt even think ice fishing was a thing in this state, so needless to say i have to try it out! Thanks for making awesome videos man, that underwater footage was so cool. Hopefully one day we'll come across each other while out fishing!

love the camper van! they should have paid you for the tatoo! ;) awesome fish finder....never seen one like that! we used to use chain saws when the ice was too thick and cold... love the underwater gopro!!!! ;) more underwater gopro action please :) :) fish on! awesome! :) I think the cold water brings the colors out more.... i think we are going to see fish finders with gopros attached in the future now! :) we used to set the hooks hard because they don't seem to bite as hard in the winter...maybe just my imagination.....you're excitement and energy keeps bringing me back to your channel!

Be careful, ice fishing is really addictive ;) I've tried it once 30 yrs ago, still spending almost every other weekend on the ice during the winter season!

Dude you should come to Upstate New York and ice fish it’s super fun. You can catch lake trout, pike, perch, bass, pickerel and a bunch of other stuff.
cant say i agree it's the beautiful side of the state. I live on the ONP and would claim it as the beautiful part/side of the state. Our state as a whole is totally beautiful though!
Try Johnny salt on the trout. Usually I cook them with just butter and Johnny salt wrapped in tin foil over a fire.

FISH ON! Great video! Except for that pole that jumped out and hit your van! I was waiting for you to pull out a 30-06 Muskie Hunter lure on the ice! LOL! The 25 ACP looks awesome. Do you scale the trout and de-slime them at all before you cook them? It can make a huge difference in the taste especially with the McCormick spices. Can't wait for your next adventures.
