@@susanhiggins6488 funny your remark brought me back to this and it's a year ago... Where has that year gone.🤔. Happy new year to you...🎉 You out are obviously a lot younger than me as I remember watching him win. 😂👍🎉🎊
RIP to Shay Healy. Johnny Logan did him (and Ireland) proud with his song and we all still love it years later - Great Irish talent from both of them. I just read an RTE article than mentioned that this song was about Shay's Dad getting over the death of his wife (Shay's mum). Makes it even more beautiful.
It wasn’t my usual type of music but I’ve always liked this song for some reason and it regularly comes in my mind. I’m 55 now and I think I would have been 11 when it came out. ❤
My favourite Eurovision Winner. 'Fantastic song'. Many of us have felt like that sometime in our lives, great sentiments on lost love. Johnny Logan did the double by winning Eurovision for Ireland seven years later in 1987 with 'Hold me now' which is another cracking song.
"....with such a lot of pain in every tear....." And I still cry each time I listen to this song, even after very long 37 years. Johnny Logan is a great singer and also a great guy.
I've been in love with Johnny for 30 years now and I think I'll still be in love with him the day I die! He's cute and handsome and has a wonderful voice I can listen to whole day long. Johnny forever!
My mam died the week we ( Ireland) won the Eurovision song contest, Bitter sweet memories of this wonderful song, R,I P Shey Healy, We love you johnny logan, you are a national treasure 💚☘️🇮🇪💚
I've been waiting such a long time, looking out for you But you're not here What's another year? I've been waking such a long time, reaching out for you But you're not near What's another year? to someone who's lost everything that he owns? to someone who's getting used to being alone? I've been praying such a long time It's the only way to hide the fear What's another year? to someone who's lost everything that he owns? to someone who's getting used to being alone? I've been crying such a long time With such a lot of pain in every tear What's another year? to someone who is getting used to being alone What's another year? For someone who is getting used to being alone What's another year? to someone who is getting used to being alone
Just rediscovered this. What a great song and singer. Getting older and still waiting. Maybe next year, maybe never. But music will always bring out the emotions:-(
David O Brien yes he is huge in Europe, that’s why ireland needs him to represent us again in 2020 his voice is still superb we could break this chain of awful entries , maybe 8 times for Ireland if so
Wow... Makes me remember the true love. There was music. Thank you very much for posting this video. If somebody wants the spanish version, let me know it (it is very nice too)
Apparently this was No 1 on the day I was born 30 years ago today. From watching the video I would like to say what a great song and video! However, my Mummy always told me if you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all...
On my birthday, I always sing this to anyone who will listen! As for feminine face, yes a beauty with a great big stonking broken nose, I don' t think so. Brings back carefree happy memories for me.
A time when we had real music and artists who could sing. I remember watching the Eurovision Song Contest that year with my mum and grandma ♥️♥️♥️
❤
Me too. I was a child back then. That's how I learned the present perfect continuous form.
As opposed to 2024 - pure BS
And me with my nan
Me and my mother and my little brother listen to the song over and over, it's great, we understand it in English because we're English
One of the best eurovision winners.
It IS the best 🥲
The Best !!
Greeting from the Netherlands Grandma Mieke
It is the best!
But the best one, not from the older generation is the winner from 2009 Alexander Rybak - Fairytale
Change my Mind

Always fresh. A real guy - seems hard to believe it's a 1980's song. Deserves to become a standard. Jim from Dublin, Ireland

With such a lot of pain in every tear
