I SAVE ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS FOR REFERRING BACK!! GREAT!! I WILL SOON BE 72 YEARS YOUNG WITH PARKINSON’S AND I JUST STARTED CRAFTING ABOUT A MONTH AGO…I HAVE THE CRICUT EXPLO AIR 2. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!🙋♀️😻 I WOULD USE IT!!
FROM THE FIRST TIME I SAW AND HEARD YOU, I LOVED EVERYTHING I WISH YOU NOTHING BUT SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS PEOPLE LIKE YOU IS WHAT THIS WORLD NEEDED FULL OF JOY AND INSPIRATION. I AM JUST STARTING OUT WITH GRAPHIC DESIGNS I PURCHASED A CRICUT MAKER AND WATCH YOUR VIDEOS TO MAKE THINGS. THANK YOU FOR SHOWING ME WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY.
I use this all the time. First tip. Put press n seal on light grip mat... Comes off better. Second tip. Use washi setting with light pressure. Third tip. Dont use for intricate designs
Watching after the fact, but I LOVE the DT vinyl! Its great to do projects that you know you'll want to remove down the road - I labelled my toddler's toy bin drawers, and when he outgrows these toys I can switch the labels. I've also used it for a faux stained glass design on a rental house window, it's great and inexpensive for paper crafts like planner layouts and junk journals, I also like to use it in place of stencil vinyl since it's super thin and I don't feel bad just tossing it after the fact. The star though is the glitter vinyl! It cuts like a dream, it's so pretty and I love using it for mail and scrapbooking
I LOVE Dollar Tree vinyl for papercrafting. I got DT vinyl the night I got my Cricut, cut it on the washi tape setting (as I had seen online while waiting for my Cricut) and started having fun with it immediately!
I have used the Dollar Tree vinyl since it first came out about 8 months (or so) and have mixed thoughts. It seems to work really well on wood and plastic. It works on metal really well as long as it's not painted. So bare metal. However, weeding can be challenging. I uses the WASHI tape setting but I also made my own material in Design Space. Thanks for reviewing this, Michael. Much appreciated!
I would treat the DT vinyl as removable vinyl. I wouldn’t use it on cups, mugs, etc. I’ve cut with it and it’s very delicate and thin but can do a great job for signs and such.
I have learned so much watching this video. Funny story though…I bought two colours of DollarTree vinyl for a Cricut class, and I didn’t change any settings, and my project turned out wonderful. Beginners luck was working that day.
I just found your videos and I am new critcut user. Only unboxed about 2 weeks ago. I had it about a month before but was to sick to try it. I am very nervous about learning to use it. They aren't exactly cheap. I finally overcome my fear! I have done a few test cuts and print and cut. I will learn through, with help of these wonderful and informative videos.
Love your videos. Have been recovering from surgery and watching tons of videos. Yours are great and have learned more from watching yours. You are a great teacher. Keep up the great work.
Love your tutorials, your honesty and best of all sense of humor…so cute! I can see you are humbled by the support you get…but you deserve it. I appreciate you trying the vinyl with a real design and not just some teeny little word or something!
I’m so sad I missed this, I had a meeting. I’ve been collecting it too! I actually used the dollar tree vinyl for window Xmas decals because they came right off without any residue left behind. I used the washi tape cut setting.
@@mrcraftypants They have the removable one and the permanent one. It’s a hit or miss because it’s so thin. Their transfer tape actually works. I just wish the vinyl was a lot better. I use the Washi setting on a less cut.
Thank you for your great tutorials! Even being a cricut user and have done lots of projects I feel like it still helps to see how things go. Trouble shooting too! Thank you! Love your channels!
Thank you for take the time and sharing with us. I love the way you explain and take the time and go step by step the way we can follow is like the 2nd time watching your video. I love it... Love the way you showing and kept with the chat and answer all the questions also I didn't get tire of watching the process I enjoy watching all the video until the end....❤
I’ve used the vinyl from Dollar Tree and have been very pleased with it. I’ve placed designs on ceramic mugs, plastic tumblers as well as metal. Used a heat gun just as I did with brand name permanent adhesive vinyl. Great results. Love using the pin pen!!!
I’ve never thought to use a heat source to ensure my vinyl ( regular or dollar tree) has better adhesion. Can you tell me which one you use? Would a hair dryer work?
I am a licensed optician and you may need to ask the doctor to put you on Bepreve because as much as you use your contacts it could be drying out even if you think they are not. But love watching your tips and hacks. Because I am all about the budget.
I just love you so much.. hubby is not consistently working right now or I would be a member. Once he's steady you better believe I'll be ON IT! Thank you for being you :)
I love that you, or someone, is still keeping an eye on and responding to some of the comments even after 10 months! Anyway, I wanted to watch this older video again today, because I caved and bought a few rolls of DT's 'permanent' vinyl yesterday. They look surprisingly nice - a fairly matte style of fine glitter, and in some nice colors - so I couldn't resist. 😆 I'm curious to see how they'll work - fingers crossed! FWIW I think the glossy finish of the DT vinyl actually looks better than a matte one would on that shiny, enamel looking, metal surface. It could almost pass for enamel paint, so it's a good result, IMHO. Keep on keeping on!
Mr. CraftyPants thanks so much for sharing how to laying is done. I have a scan and cut but the principal is basically the same more or less. I really wanted to know how to layer and set a picture into a frame and now I can come back to this video for pointers. I LOVE ❤️ your live streams. You make an old lady smile😁😁
I actually enjoy the DT vinyl, but I am new to the game. I find as a beginner, it works well for my home projects so far. I do try to steer away from the small detail ones though, but If you are trying to craft on a budget (which I am), it gives me the opportunity to do so. Also, I so appreciate your tutorials! They are by far the best I have found to clearly explain the processes. I recently made a rookie mistake with my first layered iron on, that would not have happened if I'd watched YOUR video first, rather than the cricut or other one I tried. You are my go to information source, from now on. BTW, I will join your group when my free cricut trial ends next week. I appreciate you! :)
I love it for stencils. It weeds easily, but you have to watch the little pieces, as the vinyl doesn't stick to the backing very well Once burnished onto your project, it's easy to stencil, and you can get nice crisp lines, And, it pulls off quite easily.
I am catching the replay. I am a beginner with Cricut and this style of crafting. I may hold off on the $1 tree vinyl. I walked around in the store with 4 rolls yesterday but ended up putting them back. I don't think I have the skills yet to do this. :) THANK YOU FOR SHARING THE VIDEO!
I love that file but, that scares me to death thinking about making this with all the colors. You have beautiful designs. Love your calming voice I learn better when I’m not stressed.
I'm watching the replay, and very happy you're doing this! I literally had a roll of this in Buffalo check in my hand and couldn't go through buying it! 🤣 I really love this cute spring truck! ❤
I love the Dollar Tree vinyl for my purposes. I make herbal skin care and many of the containers I can buy are ugly white plastic. I wanted a vinyl to cover the plastic that I can still put my label on. This thin vinyl is perfect for that. I use the regular vinyl setting on my Maker and it cut with no problems at all. A cheap, colorful covering for ugly white plastic jars!
I have purchased DT vinyl. Its good for the price. I use it to label my childs notebooks and pencil cases. It is good for big projects not small projects. Weeding is hard as heck but as I said, if someone is on a budget its good for the price.
I'm new and have watched many videos and find your to be the most fun, not dragging out to long and making it fun to watch and learn. I here watching the live but have no idea how to chat lol
I have used dollar tree vinyl for several things and had good luck. Have noticed any real fine line items....not so great. I have used it on wood to make small plaques.. just done one that had smallll pieces and be sure to burnish it GOOD before weeding helps. I just used this paper and it is awful!!!! You are right, with the small details and it does not work at all. Not to mention when I pulled it out of the box the roll was all messed up and I could not take all the wrinkles out. Thank you for this. I was doing it with you and I will never use this again.
I enjoyed watching this. I'm new to all of this and my Cricut Maker is still the box next to my chair. Amazon just got it today. I make miniatures but my hands get really sore. I figured I can use the maker to make layers to build my project parts. Having seen the vinyl has given me more idea's for crafting with this machine.

Is leaving the rest of the roll hanging off the mat a hack I missed the memo on? I've never noticed that. Now I see I don't have to cut the vinyl into sheets before using it
Awesome video! $1000.⁰⁰ for a heat press? Wow! Here I've been looking in the area of $200.⁰⁰ In your opinion what is the best heat press for beginners like me.
I love the window cling setting the most for dollar tree but I used washi tape normal or more pressure different colors seem to need a little different setting sometimes. The glitter vinyl I just use the glitter vinyl setting every time and it has worked almost every single time.
QUESTION ? CAN YOU PLEASE TELL US IF THIS STAYED ADHERED TO THIS AFTER A FEW DAYS? SINCE IT'S BEEN A FEW DAYS. i JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF IT STAYED ON? THANKS, SWEETHEART YOU'RE ALWAYS SO HELPFUL.
Thank you for this video. I am a newbie with cricut and I am head over heels in love with it. Purchased some dt vinyl to personalize a few birthday gift bags and it worked great but I did have issues personalizing a name tag because it was very small but otherwise it works well but I would definitely keep it just to play with it and use the good vinyl for gifts. thank you. PS. you are too cute

when cutting multiple mats of same type of material, you can check the "Remember material settings" so you don't have to change setting for all layers
I didn't know that... Thank you! 😊
Thanks for that tip. I didn't know that 😉
Thank you, for the tip.
Thanks, Vikki!!!

Very educational. I have had my Explore Air 2 for 3 months and have not used it yet. Working 2 jobs and school sucks. 😂
I used it to label day care kid cups and it has held up even in dishwasher. 3 months of daily washing
