As a dutchie myself I am totally in love with the song!😍 Wish that non dutch speakers could hear what I hear. Even if you look at the english translation it is still different then if you are dutch. Some lyrics hit different in english...like the sentence "oh ik lijk wel een kind" in english is "ow I look like a child" which in english is a bit weird but in dutch it totally makes sence. Because I tell you this song is poetry it is an absolut masterpiece! It's the seriously the most beautiful storytelling. I cry everytime I hear it but it is not all sad and heavy this song somehow it also gives me a free feeling...like I'm walking on clouds or a breath of fresh air...that type of feeling 💖

This song is making me emotional. I am also a Dutch girl and really her voice is magical!
I must admit that at first it didn't transmit anything to me but then on the second listen I fell in love and I can't stop listening to it. It's a sad but beautiful song
Glad to hear you like our Dutch entry! I'm not often a fan of our entries, but this one really blew me away. Probably because I understand the lyrics and know where she came from. It's one of the few songs that gave me goosebumps and it still does, even after hearing it for 50+ times. I might sound very biased, but this is my nr 1. It gets better the more you listen to it!
In the clip she gets confronted what happened, she got into an argument with her boyfriend, he drives off alone and dies. Her tattoo lights up and he appears as a ghost and she still feels deeply connected to him, after seeing his motorbike at the garage at the `braketest` sign she walks off and cries her eyes out and his presence inside her fades. (The light on her cheek)

As a dutchie myself I am totally in love with the song!😍 Wish that non dutch speakers could hear what I hear. Even if you look at the english translation it is still different then if you are dutch. Some lyrics hit different in english...like the sentence "oh ik lijk wel een kind" in english is "ow I look like a child" which in english is a bit weird but in dutch it totally makes sence. Because I tell you this song is poetry it is an absolut masterpiece! It's the seriously the most beautiful storytelling. I cry everytime I hear it but it is not all sad and heavy this song somehow it also gives me a free feeling...like I'm walking on clouds or a breath of fresh air...that type of feeling 💖

It really is a loveletter to that."
As a bit of extra info, when she was in high school she had to go to a mental hospital kinda place during her exams year and after a bit of talking to government etc. they allowed her to do her last exams in the mental hospital.
