    Interesting Rob, I must say I always believed two dead maggots would be gobbled up with the feed, and that bait changes were not critical when method fishing. I think this proves me wrong. Thank you.

    Thank you for taking the time to help us out, very interesting 2 videos but still a bit confused on the Barston side? I still use brasm for the bream on my local waters in Essex and find it does the job. Will experiment as you have done and hope to improve my catch weights. Once again thanks for getting wet for us!!!

      Deffo got a couple what I've been experimenting with has a paste bait and the carp really home in on it as it shows the different coloured particles in the paste pink and white are the best up to now

    That's a really nice little pool to fish in the winter plenty of fish stocked, apart from bread I only fish boilies as hookbaits at Makins these days, the colour varies from day to day I usually start with the one that was best the last time I went. Have you tried drop shotting for the perch at Makins? I've had some nice ones as accidental catches but never targeted them deliberately. Really enjoying your experiments I always flavour my pellets to give them an edge.

      A great place to go all year. I’ve not tried the lures at Makins but I’ve caught some big perch form phase two using casters and maggots in the past

    Another great and very interesting video Rob, proof that fish shy away from a bright coloured bait but hit a white bait every time, do you ever use punched bread on the method/hybrid? I did at TBF last year and it was the only bait I could get a bite on, I did try white pop ups and wafters but nothing

      Cheers ... yeah bread is a brilliant bait

    Hi rob
    Living in south africa most of our water is colourd, could you remember when you fished at bloemhof dam last year which colour you used to catch the carp and , whe used a lot of white and yellow baits, would you say yellow is more for clear water or colourd water, great video mate

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  5 років тому

      I think whites and yellows work well in all colours of water but it’s got to be worth trying something like a red or orange if it’s very coloured

    Rob, any chance of experimenting with an identical hookbait but different colour micros on the actual feeder? I’m surprised Dynamite don’t do white micros.

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  5 років тому

      It’s really hard to get a good fishmeal to take a white dye. I’ll have a think about pellet colour though

    • @thejoker7323
      @thejoker7323 5 років тому

      That explains why you don’t see many white pellets. Do you tend to stick to one micro pellet or have you tried different colours on the same day?

    Rob, what are your thoughts on the stickiness of your mix? I've done loads of method feeder fishing the last couple of years and regardless of if I'm fishing for bream or carp I hands down catch more fish and surprisingly quickly with a really sticky mix.

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  5 років тому +1

      I think different things work on different days. I like to start off with a sticky base layer and then put the second layer on a bit softer. But some days, like you, I’ve found that the stickier the better

    • @brianwelbourne9896
      @brianwelbourne9896 5 років тому

      I agree , I think the sticky mix seems to act like a semi ground bait in the winter but summertime it makes little difference.

    • @RobWootton

      @@RobWootton 2oz carbon for fishing at 45mt or better 1oz glass?

    • @RobWootton
