    Interesting as I was fishing the main lake at the same using flavourings including F1 pellet soak along with crushed scopex boilies on micros and only had 3 skimmers and no carp. I think you are correct that flavourings help, but finding the fish in winter is one of the skills that you have that helps you stand out from the average angler like myself. It was bloody freezing as well.

      Yes - whatever you chuck out it needs to be near a fish or two

    Good video Rob, as scientific as possible. I was wondering first chuck over the flavoured line with plain pellets if it would go round as there was still scent in the water, guess it disperses fairly quickly.

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  5 років тому +2

      I thought that could happen too - I wonder if fish are always nearby anyway though

    Have you ever messed around adding oils to your pellets? Some oils disperse better than others in cold water but speci carp anglers have been using oils in pva stick mixes for years, the theory being that as the oils leak out they pull fish down from the upper layers?

    • @RobWootton
      @RobWootton  5 років тому

      Yeah I use oils a bit In the summer and Years ago I’d use a bit of salmon oil in method mixes

  • @AmirMusanovic
    @AmirMusanovic 5 років тому

    Excellent probe Rob. But one question itching my soul. Why used the one mould in between both pellets packs? Might be the smell of the flavoured method easily transfers to another, as well? And, can the next test include this suggest? Otherwise, the greatest run within your experiment. Thanks a lot. Tight lines wherever you are.

    • @RobWootton

      @@RobWootton Hi again. No need for the extra one. It was just how I would do that. to exclude any doubt about the smell. Anyhow, what you showed all of us, proves the quality of the flavours. Enjoying following you at all social media. Very best.

    It's a well known in barbel fishing that using meaty flavour or milk protein boilies flavoured sweetly work better as the water temperature gets lower. I'm looking forward to your flavours experiment but I would do it twice on contrasting days when water temperature is different. I bet I colder weather a sweet f1 flavour will trump other flavours

  • @kevvy50
